Consumer Complaint: " XXXX XXXX XXXX '' has sent me debt collection letters a couple of times asking me to pay {$49.00} for XXXX debt. I do NOT owe money to XXXX and XXXX confirmed it over the phone. I replied to the Convergent 's debt collection letters explaining that they've got a wrong person, but they just keep sending me the collection letter. The account # in the letter is not mine and transaction and account creation dates are all wrong.

Consumer Complaint: After checking my credit report back in XXXX, and receiving a phone call from XXXX XXXX, XXXX, - I noticed items on my credit report that did not belong to me. I called the creditors and credit bureaus directly to dispute the inaccurate information and make them aware of what I noticed on my reports. This has caught me by surprise as I never received collection phone calls prior to pertaining to any debt that was allegedly mine. Later, I was able to get this information updated and even placed a fraud alert on my credit report to be cautious. I have been in communication with the debt collection agency XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX advising them that the debt they're saying is mine DOES NOT BELONG TO ME. I have never had a contract with XXXX XXXX, XXXX - I am not liable for the collection of the debt from XXXX as this debt is not mine. I have been disputing this inaccurate information since I first found out about this fraudulent information and they have not removed this information from my credit file, nor have they understood that this debt does not belong to me. They have called and harassed me about this debt day and night. This has hurt me severely in regards to obtaining credit. XXXX XXXX, XXXX states that they have validated the debt, however, under the FCRA, they are required to provide a copy of the original creditor 's ( XXXX ) documentation on file to validate that the debt is mine ( which they have failed to do so ). XXXX XXXX has not provided me with a consumer contract with my signature on it validating this debt belongs to me. I have been disputing this for a while now and this has hindered my credit file tremendously.

Consumer Complaint: Last year I was solicited by a XXXX XXXX Representative at a XXXX location for a quote for internet, phone, and TV services. I explained I did not want services as I had just moved in the home and would quote competitors. I provided my name and phone number only. This " gentleman '' went on to use a FAKE / FRAUDULENT SS # as well as setup an installation for that following week. I came home to an installed service that I never once asked for. Upon calling XXXX XXXX support, they had a hard time verifying my information beyond my name because of the fake information input, including SS, email, and pin. This is reflected in the notes of XXXX. ( I just spoke with them. ) XXXX XXXX agreed to remove all liability on my account {$100.00} once their equipment was returned. I returned their equipment as confirmed by the representative ( XXXX ) i just spoke with. I am unsure why Convergent has this 'debt ' since not only do I not owe it, but the contract was null and void the day the service began. I was paying month to month, and fell behind only when the services they promo 'd me for my 'inconvenience ' were not removed ( XXXX/TV ) and I was billed for them. According to the representative there is extensive notes from the beginning explaining all of this. My account with them was settled completely as of the date of Convergent purchasing my debt for less than {$10.00}. ( XX/XX/2018 ) - More than a year and a half after closing that account in good standing.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/18, I checked my credit reports because I want to make some major purchases soon. I checked and found that XXXX XXXX, XXXX had illegally posted a collection account. I have never heard of nor had an account with this company. I have no knowledge of this company nor this debt. I have never had any dealings with them. I never received a letter in the mail that gave me 30 days to validate or dispute this account. I never received a letter stating that I have an alleged debt with this company and owe a balance on that allege account until after I sent them a notarized debt validation letter. Attached is the letter I received from XXXX XXXX, XXXX that is not proof that I have an alleged account with them. Again, I have absolutely no knowledge of this account with them. I understand that, under the FDCPA guidelines for collection agencies or me to go further with an account, I need ( 1 ) proof that they are the original holder of this debt and can legally hold me responsible for paying this debt and ( 2 ) contractual proof of obligation or an assignment SIGNED in BLUE ink from an officer from the original creditors corporation that I am supposed to pay them. 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 ( b ) of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) grants me the right to request validation of this alleged debt they say I owe. If I would have gotten anything in the mail from this company before they illegally reported to my credit report, I would have respectfully requested evidence that I am the person they are asking to pay this debt and a contractual obligation that legally binds me to pay them this debt. Upon them receiving my validation letter, they would have to legally cease from collection calls, letters, and efforts and delete the account from my credit files until they can validate this debt. But again, they have not provided documented and written proof that I am the contractual, signed account holder and I never received such a letter about this account ever in the mail until I sent them a notarized debt validation letter. They have illegally posted and reported this erroneous account to my credit file file without adhering to the FDCPA laws. Im not sure if this a scam or someone is attempting to hack my credit file or not. What I do know is that this company has broken FCRA and FDCPA laws by reporting a false account to my credit report without informing me through mail, email, phone, etc. My credit score has dropped tremendously because of this account. Please help me get his account removed immediately. I'm preparing to sue under the FCRA and FDCPA because of the damages to my credit and other opportunity costs that have to be delayed until this illegal account is removed. Consumer Complaint: I paid XXXX XXXX acct # XXXX in settlement XXXX. I never receive any letters from Convergent about this debt. They collected funds for XXXX open XXXX. The last time I knew about this account when XXXX XXXX were handling this account inXX/XX/XXXX it were deleted from my credit file. They sent the account to XXXX XXXX, XXXX XX/XX/XXXX they decided to delete when XXXX told them to delete. This is the last time I saw this account on my credit file. When got notice from the credit bureaus about XXXX XXXX placing this account on my credit file. I took 5 years for this account to reappear on my credit file. Since I paid this account I want it deleted from all 3 credit bureaus.
