Consumer Complaint: I received a collection letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX WA XXXX Phone : ( XXXX ) XXXX in XX/XX/2018 regarding a debt from XXXX that in my recollection was paid in full. The debt was for {$450.00}. I called the collection agency and asked them to validate and verify the debt. I was sent a bill from XXXX, that simply showed a balance, but did not provide any details of the reason for the debt. I called the collection agency the week of XX/XX/XXXX, and after being transferred multiple times, the representative from Convergent explained that they could not find the account and I should call back. I called back and spoke with a representative during the same week, and explained what was sent to me. She was kind and empathetic and said they would send a detailed, itemized bill that would explain the debt. I heard nothing after that. I was notified on or around XX/XX/XXXX that the company reported the debt to XXXX. I called the collection agency and explained that I still have not received information that validates the debt. The person became combative and said there's nothing they would do about it. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was hung up on. I've submitted two disputes to XXXX, and the outcome was that the company validated the debt. I have still not received any information that validates this debt, according to the FDCPA guidelines.

As I started to clean my credit up. I suddenly got a bill for {$40.00}. They told me to just pay it. And I said I didnt owe it. And now I get aggressive phone calls daily. And the amount is now {$370.00}. This is a sold debt. That can not be collected upon. Because I do not owe XXXX a thing.

Consumer Complaint: In answering CFPB Complaint XXXX on XX/XX/2018, XXXX XXXX stated that " they had updated the disputed status of the account and suspended collection efforts in their office. '' On XX/XX/2018, XXXX XXXX broke their agreement and initiated collection efforts once again on a time barred debt. Not only does this company not comply with the laws of the FCRA and what they report to the Credit Reporting Agencies ( CRAs ) but they break their agreements with the CFPB.

Consumer Complaint: I found a debt collection agency listed in my credit report. FDCPA 809, states that debt collectors have 5 days to notify the alleged debtor, the name, address, phone number, the amount of the alleged debt, notification that you have 30 days to despute the alleged debt, or 30 days to even have the debt verified. XXXX XXXX XXXX failed to notify me in any way. NO PHONE CALL, NO LETTER, NOTHING, BEFORE POSTING THIS ON MY CREDIT REPORT. SO, XXXX XXXX XXXX, YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED OF THE FDCPA VIOLATION. There has been case laws that consider putting this in a credit report constitutes the fist initial communication. You had 5 days to notify me of my FDCPA rights, which you just violated. You put this in my credit report on XX/XX/2018. Your 5 days are GONE. So, NOT ONLY DID YOU FAIL TO NOTIFY ME OF MY RIGHT TO DISPUTE, YOU DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF THE NAME ADDRESS OR OTHER INFO ON THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR, YOU DID NOT TELL ME THE AMOUNT OF THE ALLEGED DEBT, AND YOU SENT NOTHING AS FAR AS PAPERWORK THAT EVEN VERIFIED OR VALIDATED THE DEBT. YOU BROKE THE LAW!

Consumer Complaint: Good day, I started receiving calls from this company several years ago. Apparently, it's in reference to a debt that I have challenged. I have asked them to stop calling my work cell number. They have apparently found other numbers associated with me and repeatedly call. I would say the earliest calls are around XXXX and the latest are around XXXX. The worst was on Wednesday, XX/XX/XXXX at work. Call was about XXXX. When they asked to speak to me I asked who it was. The guy said he was a " surgical doctor '' and needed to speak to me. I challenged and he demanded me to pass the phone to the person he was looking for. I ended up hanging up. In addition, I have received emails from this company. Not threatening yet.

Consumer Complaint: I am currently disputing a debt with Convergent XXXX and have asked the following company to provide me with documentation attesting they have documentation I am asking for, I have sent two letters to the company the first one was accepted by this company. The second one was " refused '' I sent it via certified mail and they refused to accept the incoming mail. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I sent a letter to Convergent asking them to validate a debt that they insist that I owe. In return this company sent me a bill XXXX that they are claiming is a validation that this is my account. However, the bill sent does not provide me as to the date in which this account was opened. All it shows is someone named XXXX XXXX opened the account. I have no knowledge of this account especially after seeing the information that they sent. Anyone could have opened this account. There is no contract, nothing with my signature on it nor my social security number and most importantly this document provides no information as to when this account was even opened. Also, I asked Convergent to validate this debt but on their letterhead they attached a response and I quote, " the debt is valid and attached is Verification of the debt ''. By their own admission they indicated also that what they sent me is a verification and not what I requested which was Validation of the debt.
