Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I wrote to XXXX, XXXX, & XXXX in regards to them saying I owe {$720.00}. I requested " validation '' that is competent evidence bearing my signature, showing that I have some contractual obligation to pay them. And on XX/XX/2018 I received a itemized bill instead of evidence bearing my signature. So on XX/XX/2018 I wrote Convergent Outsourcing myself informing them that they have failed to provide me with a copy of any viable evidence, bearing my signature, showing that the account is being reported accurately. I asked them to provide the name, address, and telephone number, of each person who personally verified this alleged account, so that I can inquire about how they " verified '' without providing any proof, bearing my signature. As per FTC opinion letter from Attorney XXXX XXXX XXXX, you should be aware that a printout of a bill or itemized document does not constitute verification. And on XX/XX/2018 they sent another itemized bill stating this account in questioned has been " verified ' with no viable evidence bearing my signature showing the account is reporting accurately. I would like this inaccurate information deleted immediately from all three credit reporting agencies.

Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/2018. I identified myself and indicated that I had called to pay my debt. The representative asked for my social security number and I provided it. The representative checked their system and indicated that I owed {$880.00} with the original creditor being XXXX XXXX XXXX, which matched what had been reported in my credit report I promptly paid it. Today ( XX/XX/18 ) I received a letter from Convergent that stated I now owe {$350.00} to the same original creditor. I do not owe this, it was not reported on my credit report ( I know that reporting is not required by creditors ), it was not previously disclosed to me in any way, and its origin is totally unknown to me. I have paid what they said I owed and I would like the CFPB to please have this company to cease this harrassment.
