Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2020, CONVERGENT OUTSOURCI add a derogatory mark on my credit report per XXXX. Upon further research, this account was transferred /sold and I am no longer responsible for it. Debtor*s creditors did not verify this collection. Also there was no written form of communication, contract or signature for this account debt at all. A bill without signature does not validate the debt and anybody can send a bill and say it is mine. According to the FCRA CONVERGENT OUTSOURCI has violated my rights as a consumer and I requesting legal action to remove this account immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I have attempted as indicated by CFPB complaint ID XXXX to inform Convergent that this debt is invalid and possibly fraudulent. The company has yet to provide me with an accurate accounting of the debt. And in speaking with them approximately three weeks ago, I wanted to get rid of this issue so I called to research the debt yet again and discuss settlement options. During the call however, the agent asked if he could stop the recording which I found extremely suspicious. He then began to ask if I had returned all of our phones, to which I replied yes. I used the shipping information and packaging I was sent from XXXX. Then I asked, " is that what this debt is related to? ". Then he began to try and distract me from that issue, and I pressed him to give me the real reason for the debt again with the recording on and he would not so I ended the call.

Consumer Complaint: Received letter in the mail from Convergent Outsourcing, about a XXXX bill for {$6400.00}. I called them and told them repeatedly that I never used XXXX / XXXX. Told them the same thing on the phone, not my debt! I called XXXX and they have NO account in my name! These people were able to get this on my credit report, even though my credit reports do NOT show a XXXX account. I was suspicious when they offered to settle for 60 % in the first mail I received. What can I do?

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2018 we moved from XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, NJ to our current address. We had to cancel our XXXX XXXX service and they sent a box and prepaid XXXX ground label, tracking number XXXX to return their equipment. The equipment was sent back on XX/XX/2018 and received at their facility in XXXX, PA on XX/XX/2018 at XXXX. Despite having concrete evidence the equipment was returned, XXXX billed me for the equipment. I'd call, give the tracking number, be told it would be taken care of and just get a new bill. XXXX then sent it off to collections and I've been being harassed by collection agencies since. The collection companies, upon being told by me the " debt '' doesn't exist, simply pass it off to another company. I am currently in receipt if a notice from Convergent, their reference XXXX demanding payment. This is at least the 2nd, if not the third time Convergent has handled this same debt. Please note this matter has also impacted my credit report. Can you please advise how to resolve this matter? Many thanks in advance for your kind attention to this matter.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: Received a " reduced balance opportunity '' notice from Convergent Outsourcing , Inc. regarding an alleged debt from XXXX for {$4600.00}. I have never had an account with XXXX and I told this woman who answered, who identified herself as XXXX XXXX. When I was going through the prompts and asked for an agent, it then asked why I wanted an agent I replied that I thought it was fraud. After going through account numbers, etc., I told her I never had a XXXX account. She immediately replied that it was probably " identity theft ''. She then said she would send me a " fraud packet '' and that I would need to file a police report, and then return the packet and police report. Supposedly this will arrive in 7-10 days. The " offer '' is : " We have been authorized to accept payment of 60 % of the total balance, which is {$2700.00}, in exchange for which XXXX will recall your account and cease all collection activity. If you are interested in taking advantage of this offer, call our office within 14 days of the date of this letter. Please note that this is not an offer to accept 60 % of your debt as payment in full, but an offer for XXXX to remove your account from further collection efforts. We are not obligated to renew this offer. '' There has been no " collection activity ''. This is a scam. There are two addresses on the " letter '' : Convergent Outsourcing , Inc . XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX WA XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, PA XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I received a notice of debt from Convergant on XXXX XX/XX/2020, The lettter was Dated XX/XX/2020 on XX/XX/2020 I sent a certified letter via USPS notifying Convergent that I want the debt validated not verified. As of this date, I have not received a letter from Convergant acknowledging receipt of that letter. On XX/XX/2020, I called Convergant and asked if they received that letter, they said that they did and sent out a verification of the debt. NOT a Valiudation. Was told by the rep, that since they do not report to the Credit Bureaus, It was my understanding that they did not have to follow FCRA regulations. The collection agency stated they are representing XXXX and that they were not a collection agency If they can not remove the collection from their database.
