Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was already discharged in bankruptcy and is no longer owed
Consumer Complaint: This company is trying to collect on a previously discharged Bankruptcy debt that was discharged back in 2018 by a Federal Bankruptcy Judge in California. Also, this debt was established by a Business entity and established with the Business ' Employer Identification Number issued by the IRS to an Established and registered Corporation that was legally formed and recognized by the California Secretary of State. This collection company is falsely trying to come after me for this XXXX debt when I never used my own personal social security number to establish this XXXX account nor did I agree to being liable for this XXXX account at any point during the life of this business account with XXXX, but yet the Collection Company, Convergent Outsourcing, is still trying to illegally collect on a Corporate Business Debt that was established solely by the Business Entity and not by any of it's corporate officer 's or myself, XXXX XXXX. This is why I had included this debt in my Bankruptcy filing back in 2018 anyway because of the necessity to try to protect myself from anybody that tried to illegally collect on any of the XXXX debts in which I had an involvement with at that time, just in case. Also, I would like to mention in this complaint that I have already tried to bring this issue to their attention by initiating a dispute with XXXX, but they somehow miraculously lied to XXXX about this debt because it was not removed from my credit report after the dispute. I am not sure how they were able to verify to XXXX that this discharged bankruptcy and business debt somehow should still be collected upon by this company, but whatever it was that they told them, it was clearly a false and incorrect statement regarding this account because it still remains on my credit report with them. That's fine because now I have one more thing to add to my lawsuit against them if this does not get resolved here at this level.

Consumer Complaint: I did not receive any sort of communication from Convergent Outsourcing, Inc., regarding an unpaid cell phone bill being sent to collections. I did not know that I owed a balance when I closed a XXXX XXXX account. I received no communication from XXXX or Convergent. I did not receive any communication asking me to pay the outstanding amount and then I didn't receive communication advising me of my rights regarding the account being handled by a debt collector. Now this is showing as a collection on my credit report. I found out about this debt from review of my credit report!!! I have received no information about how to dispute this debt. I do want to dispute the debt as I do not feel I owe the amount that is supposedly outstanding. But, I was never given an opportunity to resolve or dispute this matter before it was added to my credit report. I have no voicemail, email, or mailed letter letting me know my rights regarding this debt.

Consumer Complaint: This month which is XX/XX/2020, I received a letter in the mail from Convergent Outsourcing stating I owed a debt of XXXX. First off I never heard of a company named XXXX XXXX XXXX. When I googled company it stated it was a Car Finance company and I never ever had, nor held an account with the company. This alleged debt is about to be placed on my credit report because Convergent Outsourcing thinks this alleged debt is mine. Unless they have proof that this alleged debt is mine, this alleged debt shouldn't not be placed on my credit report. I'm attaching a Debt Validation Letter to this complaint.

Consumer Complaint: I have repeatedly been hit by XXXX with collections that I have not done and I dispute them just fine as they are not mine. But around the XX/XX/XXXX they put a collection for the third time from a XXXX bill on my credit report and when I try to dispute it they just leave it on there. I have never had a cable or internet bill in my life and my phone goes through XXXX which I make my payments on time monthly for. I dont want this damaging my credit any longer as I have not opened an account with XXXX and disputing it twice has not worked.

Consumer Complaint: Recently my credit report showed a collection account with Convergent Outsourcing, Inc that is severely affecting my credit. They say that the original creditor is XXXX. I switched from XXXX to XXXX over 6 years ago with an offer that XXXX gave us to pay for the outstanding equipment balance to transfer our business to them. I filled out all paperwork required and they were supposed to pay it. After 6 years I get this collection account and contacted XXXX my current provider and they contacted a XXXX representative with me on the phone to solve the problem. The XXXX customer service representative said this was too long ago and that there is nothing for me to do but pay them. I told them is not my fault they waited years to communicate with me about it and this was supposed to be solved years ago. My current XXXX customer service representative confirmed that this was an offer that I received and that it was supposed to be done as offered, but XXXX 's customer service representative said since it was so old he had no access to that offer any longer and I have to pay. I find that waiting for so long to tell me that I have an outstanding balance has been done with bad intentions. I trusted that this was paid and they waited many years to contact me and to make me liable and responsible. I disputed with the credit buro and they only added a remark that I dispute the information.

Consumer Complaint: Good Evening / and Happy Holidays! I was shocked when I reviewed my credit report this week and I found multiple inaccuracies on my credit report from the 3 major credit bureaus from a collection company that I never have dealt with before. I've attempted several times to ratify the issue with the original creditors and credit bureaus and they still reporting inaccurate, unverifiable information. I have disputed this item with the credit reporting agency and they reported you confirmed the account as valid. I honestly do not believe to ever have any relationship with this collection agency or original creditor. Also there are several inaccuracies with this account the way it's reporting and that's a total violation of FCRA and FDCPA laws and regulations. In a good faith effort to resolve the matter amicably, I must demand proof of this debt, specifically the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature, as well as proof of your authority in this matter. Absent such proof, you must correct any erroneous reports of this past debt as mine. I am writing to request that you please provide the following information : 1. Please evidence your authorization under 15 USC 1692 ( e ) and 15 USC 1692 ( f ) in this alleged matter. 2. What is your authorization of law for your collection of information? 3. What is your authorization of law for your collection of this alleged debt? 4. Please evidence your authorization to do business or operate in this state. 5. Please evidence proof of the alleged debt, including the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature. 6. Please provide a complete account history, including any charges added for collection activity. You have 30 days upon receipt of this letter to provide strict proof of contract. In the event you can not provide strict proof of contract, you must cease and desist any and all collection efforts and immediately remove any derogatory information reported to the consumer reporting agencies. In addition, you will need to provide me your agreement, in writing, that you are closing your file, ceasing collecting activity, and deleting all information related to this reference number from any and all credit reports youve furnished the information to. In the event you transfer this account to an attorney without providing proof of contract, and proving your claim, he/she will be immediate reported to the XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX for code of ethics violations.
