Consumer Complaint: Hi, I attempted to apply for insurance with XXXX and they mentioned that I had a consumer claim, so I went to investigate and it was a claim under Lexis Nexis company. I asked for my information so I can try to dispute it if its wrong. After searching the information, I found out that my dad signed my name as policy holder for insurance with XXXX XXXX, along with himself, my mom, and my younger sister XXXX. My sister had a car accident in the past, and under Lexis Nexis report, the claim for some reason, is under my name instead of her, so I went ahead and tried to dispute it. I sent them an email with screenshots of the claim info and the insurance info and stating that the claim is under my name but it is my sister and her car that are registered under the accident so I would like to dispute. Email was sent around XX/XX/2023. I got an auto reply back mentioning their site and that they have started the record and so on. I then noticed that it asked for other information like my driver license and car information so I went ahead and sent my info again on XX/XX/2023. Till today, XX/XX/2023, they still have not replied to me, all I get are auto replies from them when I submit anything and I urgently need them to reply and help me dispute it so I can move ahead and get my car insurance without delays or cancellations due to this claim.

Consumer Complaint: On repeated occasions, it was requested that the debt under U.S. Bankruptcies be verified with the original creditor and not LexisNexis. I deny the debt and the entries on my credit report. 1. Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) : The FDCPA regulates the practices of third-party debt collectors. Under this law, if you dispute a debt, the debt collector is generally required to provide verification of the debt and cease collection efforts until the verification is provided. 2. Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) : The FCRA governs how consumer credit information is collected, reported, and used. If the entries on your credit report are inaccurate or unverified, you have the right to dispute them with the credit reporting agencies. Fraud and Identity Theft Under 15 USC 1681b, consumer reporting agencies are allowed to furnish consumer reports to individuals and entities with a permissible purpose. Permissible purposes include : 1. In response to a court order or federal grand jury subpoena. 2. For legitimate business needs related to a credit transaction. 3. For employment purposes, such as when an employer wants to conduct a background check on a potential employee. 4. For insurance underwriting or determining eligibility for insurance coverage. 5. To assess a consumer 's eligibility for a government license or benefit. 6. In connection with a legitimate business transaction initiated by the consumer, such as applying for a loan or renting an apartment. 7. To review a consumer 's account for account monitoring or account review purposes. I have requested documentation from LexisNexis on what is reported on their report under my name and for removal of a third party report for bankruptcy. I have never received the information. I was told through XXXX that they are the entity reporting the bankruptcies.

Consumer Complaint: I found out in XXXX that I had being payment a high car insurance bill because Lexis Nexis has on a report that I had to insurance claim in XXXX from XXXX. The claims are dated XX/XX/XXXX for 2 cars, a XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ), which was submerged in the flood of Hurricane Harvey. The other claim for dated XX/XX/XXXX is for a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX which I have never owned a XXXX XXXX XXXX in my life. The claim numbers are XXXX & XXXX. I never could understand how my full coverage insurance cost went from {$98.00} per month to {$300.00} per month. Everytime I asked an insurance company why my insurance was so high, they would just tell me that the cost of insurance has increased, until a representative from an online insurance company told me I had 2 claims and that is why the quote she gave me was so expensive. I have tried to get this matter resolved for 2 months and now I am faced with getting on liability insurance until this is resolved because I can't afford the insurance I have been struggling to pay for the past 2 years.

Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir/Madam, I hope this letter finds you in good health. I am writing to bring an urgent matter to your attention regarding my consumer report. LEXIS-NEXIS and XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX both third-party vendors, have reported a bankruptcy on my consumer report without providing any validation of the bankruptcy in question. Having noticed this bankruptcy claim on my report, I took immediate action and contacted the bankruptcy court for confirmation. The court clarified that they do not provide any bankruptcy information to third-party vendors. Therefore, it appears that LEXIS-NEXIS and XXXX XXXX XXXX have not only inaccurately reported a bankruptcy on my consumer report but have also failed to verify this information from a reliable source prior to reporting. Furthermore, it is my understanding that the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) requires that all information reported about a consumer must be accurate, and I have the right to dispute any inaccurate information. Therefore, I formally request that the CFPB investigate this matter and ensure the removal of this inaccurate bankruptcy claim from my consumer report. Moreover, I have not granted permission to LEXIS-NEXIS or XXXX XXXX XXXX to share or release my personal information. Their actions are a clear violation of my rights under the FCRA, which guarantees my right to privacy and control over my personal and financial data. I kindly request your immediate attention to this matter. I believe that the CFPB, with its mandate to protect consumers from unfair, deceptive, or abusive practices and take action against companies that break the law, is best positioned to help me resolve this issue. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and the resolution of this issue. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: Please note that Lexis Nexis has corrected the bankruptcy error on my credit report with them. XXXX and XXXX have given written notification that they both received the information from Lexis Nexis. I have submitted the supporting documentation I received from Lexis Nexis to both bureaus and both XXXX and XXXX refuse to review the documentation and update my reports. XXXX went on further to send written documentation that both the Federal Bankruptcy Court and Lexis Nexis confirmed the accuracy of the tradeline to them on XX/XX/2023. I am unsure which portion of the court was open to confirm especially since this is a legal federal holiday. State and Federal buildings are closed on this day along with banks. Both bureaus have stated Lexis Nexis has not reported this information to the bureaus per the 5 days they have to correct the error and we are now going on almost 120 days. Per CFPB " Consumer reporting agencies have 5 business days after completing an investigation to notify you of the results. ''

Consumer Complaint: There are XXXX accounts on my LexisNexis report that are not mine. They list me as the Primary Policyholder. I have never opened an insurance policy with XXXX, because I have not ever owned a car until XX/XX/2023. These accounts are a result of years of identity theft by my mother, and XXXX has already resolved this on their end by terminating the policies as though they never existed. I sent them proof of the theft by sending a police report to them and informing them I never owned the cars on the policy. Unfortunately, I have already tried the dispute process with LexisNexis and they refused to correct inaccurate information, so I am going directly through the CFPB. I have attached Progressives fraud department results and the police report for your viewing, and I expect those accounts to be removed from my LexisNexis report. I am already unable to get car insurance because LexisNexis refuses to fix errors in my report. I will be including this issue in my eventual lawsuit if it comes to that.
