Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report

Consumer Complaint: I am disputing methods of verification for a bankruptcy listed on my LexisNexis report. After calling several times over the past few months and sending dispute letters, I recently spoke with an employee named XXXX from LexisNexis at XXXX XXXX on XXXX who stated verbatim there is No way to verify information in your file. I proceeded with my dispute since he confirmed LexisNexis does not and has not verified information in my file. LexisNexis sent a response in the mail stating they did not verify the item in my file with the original furnisher of the information but LexisNexis believes it is not obligated to FCRA regulations for removal of a record if it can not be verified. Thus, I am demanding this item be removed since it has not been verified with the original furnisher by LexisNexis.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report

Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to resolve this unverified bankruptcy entry with XXXX, starting with my correspondence starting from XX/XX/XXXX till XX/XX/XXXX to no available remedy from XXXX. XXXX has made claims several claims that this information has been verified by its 3rd party vendor LexisNexis, with no other details provided to me. With that response from XXXX, I contacted LexisNexis and asked them to verify this information, by obtaining the records this vendor had. LexisNexis could not show or prove that XXXX had contacted them or verified this bankruptcy as XXXX has claimed. Bankruptcy information was never found in my consumer disclosure report that LexisNexis maintains. LexisNexis conducted their OWN independent 30-day investigation, sent the information of their finds as a dispute on my behalf to ALL 3 credit reporting agencies. XXXX, did not respond, but removed the information, XXXX, responded with documentation to LexisNexis stating a removal of the bankruptcy, XXXX did not respond to me nor LexisNexis. Despite this information FROM LexisNexis and additional information provided to XXXX by their third-party vendor, the unverifiable information remained. XXXX, did not properly take the correct steps to verify and correct the information, which they are reporting pursuant to it obligations under the FCRA. Under the FCRA, the investigation. a credit reporting agency undertakes must be a reasonable one. Per the Federal Credit Reporting Act, Section 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( a ), XXXX was required by federal law to verify through physical verification of the original signed consumer contract and/or judgment ( s ) all accounts and public information that you post on anyones credit report. Otherwise, anyone paying for your reporting services could fax, mail, email in fraudulent and erroneous account information. According to XXXX " verified '' means that the company, ( in this case vendor ) that reports the information to XXXX has certified it reported accurately. However, this is not the case, LexisNexis DID not verify to XXXX that this information was verified. A letter was sent to XXXX on XXXX XXXX requested their Method of Verification, which by law I am obligated to ask for and shouldve received, since XXXX verified with LexisNexis . That information as not provided to me, I was told to look in the Public Records section of my credit report and find that information. This DOES NOT constitute as proper Method of Verification according to the FCRA. Also XXXX sent another letter in the same envelope that they couldnt verify my identity to provide me the information that I was requesting, so why did XXXX instruct me to look at my Personal Records section of my credit report and state they would not reinvestigate this information, which was NEVER investigated to begin with?

Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing issue

Subissue: Difficulty submitting a dispute or getting information about a dispute over the phone

Consumer Complaint: The insurance premium on my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX policy on a second home is going up 15 % based upon a score of XXXX ( out of XXXX ) provided by LexisNexis Risk Solutions XXXX Inc., which is both arbitrary and capricious under the surrounding circumstances. E.g., my XXXX credit score based on the same or similar information used by LexisNexis is a XXXX ( out of XXXX ), or 97.4 % of the highest available score. By comparison, my insurance score should be about XXXX, not XXXX. Further, each of the four primary factors cited in the XXXX XX/XX/2020 letter from XXXX XXXX as the reason for the " insurance score '' that resulted in the adverse action letter ( and a bill for a 15 % higher annual premium ) is arbitrary and unreasonable both on its face and under my individual or joint financial circumstances, particularly the 2 reasons cited that relate to LexisNexis ' own apparent ignorance and/or lack of information ( Codes 0909 and 0911 relating to " INSUFFICIENT INFORMATION ON DEPARTMENT STORE ACCOUNTS '' [ and ] " PERSONAL FINANCE ACCOUNTS '' ). I tried to directly contact LexisNexis at the toll free phone number provided by XXXX XXXX on Monday XXXX XX/XX/2020 to dispute the inaccurate information and " insufficient information '' bases of the score, but was only able to request a report ( which I had already requested on-line ). My repeated attempts to reach an agent or representative were not recognized by the AI system available via the toll free number.

Issue: Unable to get your credit report or credit score

Subissue: Other problem getting your report or credit score

Consumer Complaint: I currently applied for insurance under the umbrella of the XXXX XXXX. Insurance with XXXX is limited in scope to being furnished to Veterans, spouses of Veterans, etc. When I applied for the insurance with XXXX, the XXXX was notified of issues with derogatory information on file with XXXX that was being contested and reported the issues to XXXX. Even knowing this information was on file XXXX provided a quote of $ XXXX ( rounded ) per year for homeowners insurance. After reviewing the quote and the file information provided XXXX billed my mortgage company a significant increase in the premiums due. MY mortgage company paid the amount billed even though it was not consistent with the quote. When I questioned the billing and the quote, XXXX furnished information indicating that they received a credit report from LEXIS NEXIS. XXXX provided the report no. I wrote to LEXIS NEXIS asking for a copy of the report. LEXIS NEXIS responsded to my request indicating problems with my request even though I followed the instructions provided by XXXX. LEXIS NEXIS forwarded a letter on XX/XX/2020 providing a URL and PIN number. When I accessed their website, the URL and PIN No did NOT work. To ensure that I could obtain copies of the report, I tried their website, URL and PIN several times. I reported the problem to LEXIS NEXIS. LEXIS NEXIS indicated the information may have expired. I asked LEXIS NEXIS to provide the information they furnished to XXXX. They have NOT and are seeking to have me go through their process on a repetitive basis and insisting that I furnish PII on their formatted e-mail.
