Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: I received a letter ( attached ) from LexisNexis on XX/XX/2020 which also was the response they posted on the CFPB complaint website stating that they have removed a chapter XXXX bankruptcy from my credit report with their system. Upon further investigation, they LIED not only to me but to the CFPB ( a government agency ) They are still reporting this bogus information not only on their website but also reporting it to XXXX and others. In a phone conversation with LexisNexis on XX/XX/2020 they informed me that it was still, in fact, being reported but they show the open they removed had the wrong case number and they removed that one and the one they are still reporting has the correct case number. I find it funny that I lodged 5 complaints with LexisNexis regarding this matter and they stood their ground saying the information they reported was correct. On the 6th complaint, they send the attached letter saying it was removed but it was not and they come up with the story that 2 bankruptcies were reported and THEY had the wrong number? XXXX! I just recently got a new insurance quote ( copy attached ) and my rate was dictated by the bogus information that LexisNexis has reported. XXXX & XXXX removed this item over 6 months ago with no problem! LexisNexis and XXXX are hindering my ability to get reasonable rates based on their LIES and Bogus reporting. Therefore I have had enough and retained my attorney XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX, MI. XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX to pursue litigation and file suit against LexisNexis & XXXX for their improper reporting practices, misleading a federal government agency ( CFPB ), money damages, court and attorney fees.

Consumer Complaint: I sent a letter to inform NexisLexis that I recently received a copy of my credit report that your company publishes and after reviewing it I found several bankruptcies on my XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX that are inaccurate. Them being an 3rd party company reporting incorrect information are damaging my reputation and credit worthiness. I requested they supply me with the actual documents and I received letter starting they received the information from XXXX and they do are not apart of the resolution. I went to US BKPT CT Tx XXXX have email me which emphatically stated that they do NOT provide any information to credit reporting agencies, nor do they ever validate and/or confirm public records. It is the credit reporting agencies, and/or other third- party providers who collect information regarding public cases from public records. .

Consumer Complaint: Lexis Nexis sent incorrect information regarding my minor daughter via C.L.U.E report to my auto insurance company which in turn is increasing my car insurance premiums considerably. My minor daughter just received her driver 's license on XX/XX/XXXX. When adding her to my insurance, my insurance company stated they received a clue report from Lexis Nexis via XXXX that stated my daughter was in an " at-fault accident '' back in XX/XX/XXXX. My daughter didn't even receive her temps until XX/XX/XXXX and her license on XX/XX/XXXX. The DOT would not even issue at temp license to a XXXX year old if she had been previously driving illegally and had gotten into an accident. I paid to receive my daughter 's Wisconsin DOT report which came back perfectly clean as well. I called Lexis Nexis and after spending 30 min on the phone with someone located in the XXXX, I was told they would not release the report information to me because I am not my daughter. To do so, they said I had to provide my daughter 's birth certificate, my I.D . and a notarized document proving I am my minor daughter 's legal guardian. So I've gotten absolutely nowhere with them trying to fix their error! Yet they are somehow allowed to sell my minor child 's information to my insurance company without permission???
