Issue: Threatened to contact someone or share information improperly

Subissue: Talked to a third-party about your debt

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I received notice from my mother who is not on the account or an authorized party to the account that she received a call from IC Systems. They stated that I had an account in collections for me. Provided her with my name, address, email address, phone number. The name of the account as being with XXXX, the amount of the debt, how many days past due the debt was. They knew this was not me yet they provided all of the information to an unauthorized 3rd party and violated my rights under the FDCPA. She indicated this was not my number ( which it is not ) and that she would give me the message and hung up. She then notified my about one hour to an hour and a half later that they called her back again looking for me on this debt after she already told them this was not my number and after they already disclosed my debt! My wife called the company and immediately asked for them to cease and desist calling. They kept asking when we were paying. She told them that they had violated the law and disclosed all of our personal financial information. They just kept saying ummmm. They said that they would send me to consumer affairs and after 4 attempts to reach someone and more than 14 minutes of being on the phone, no one at consumer affairs came on the line. While on the phone, I discovered that this company is known for their deceptive practices while attempting to collect debts and their known FDCPA violations. I told them this was not right and again I did not get anywhere. I feel as if my privacy has been grossly violated and that the continual calls and violations need to stop. I need to ensure calls to XXXX have completely ceased as this is not my number and no information should be disclosed to anyone but myself or my wife. I truly feel that due to the known violations of the disclosure that my credit should be cleared and the debt expunged and that XXXX should seriously look into an accredited collection agency which IC Systems is not. Also, when my wife called the company, they did not disclose their name as they should while initially calling their XXXX number. She had to ask them the name of the company and for details.

Issue: Took or threatened to take negative or legal action

Subissue: Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged

Consumer Complaint: I established a payment arrangement in XX/XX/XXXX for bi-weekly payments of XXXX. I NEVER missed a payment or was late. I received a phone call last month ( XX/XX/XXXX ) from I.C. System, Inc. ( XXXX. XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, MN XXXX ) stating that my payment arrangement had ended and my final payment of {$27.00} was taken out on XX/XX/XXXX and I had a remaining balance of {$150.00}. Not sure who authorized the increased payment either because I did not. -- - I asked the guy to be put back on the payment arrangement I had in place because my financial situation had not changed. He told me that my ONLY option was breaking it up into two equal payments ( which would be 3x my normal payment amount ). I told him that was not feasible - he then THREATENED to put this on my credit if I did not take the offer he gave me. I then informed him that it is illegal to threaten someones credit and that I could not increase my payment. I then went on their website and made a payment on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX. Today I received a call from I.C. stating that this had now been reported on my credit ( after I was threatened ) - even though I still have not missed a payment.
