Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Consumer Complaint: I C Systems have been reporting an erroneous Collection account under my XXXX credit file for sometime. I sent them 2 letters via U.S. Mail and both letters have gone unanswered. I mailed the letter to them to their offices in XXXX XXXX, Minnesota as per their website. ( ICSystem.com ). They are willfully in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) and also the Texas Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( State XXXX XXXX ). They have failed to provide verification of this alleged debt. The FDCPA states " If a consumer sends a written dispute or request for verification within 30 days of receiving the 1692g notice, then the debt collector must either mail the consumer the requested verification information or cease collection efforts altogether. Such asserted disputes must also be reported by the creditor to any credit bureau that reports the debt. Verification should include at a minimum the amount owed and the name and address of the original creditor ''. They have failed and I have given them now over 60 days. As of today, I have formally sent a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission, the Texas Attorney General 's Office and also have made contact with a Law Firm to see what my options are. I will be suing for willful violation of all Acts and also sue for financial harm since I have been turned down for credit after applying for credit and having this frivolous trade-in on my credit report. They have until the close of business of XX/XX/2018 or I will file a personal lawsuit against IC Systems or have my outside counsel file a lawsuit. Thanks, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Hi there, thank you for your time in advanced! My issue- I had a plan with XXXX XXXX for a few years. I decided to close the plan I had an switch over to a pre paid account because every month it seemed there was some hidden charge. Before I switched over to my new plan I had {$200.00} left to pay on my old one. I could not pay all of that at once so the accountants at XXXX XXXX said they could set me up on a payment plan of 4 payments of {$50.00}. I had been paying the {$50.00} payments for the last 3 months. On the XXXX month it was time to pay my last {$50.00}. When I called in to pay it, the woman on the other end told me I still owed {$200.00}. I informed her that I had set up a payment play a few months back and I have been making {$50.00} payments for the last 3 months. She told me she sees no history of that!! I had been calling in to make the payments instead of going online because I was told the payment plan option was not available online! With this said, that left me with NO receipts to go back to and show proof of my payments. After the woman telling me she see no payment history for me and I had no receipts to show, I felt very discouraged and let down that XXXX XXXX would be so careless. The woman I spoke to either had no idea what she was doing or XXXX XXXX all around messed up and something did not get recorded properly. This all happened almost TWO years ago and is now showing I owe a debt collector. I called the XXXX XXXX many times along with the debt collector and no one can seem to help. I am hoping cfpb can help me finally get this squared away. Thank you for your time!

Consumer Complaint: on XX/XX/2018 I sent a dispute letter to IC System asking for validation. I received back letter saying " XXXX has provided the attached information verifying your responsibility ''. On XX/XX/2018 I send a second letter because yet again IC System have failed to provide me with copy of any viable evidence. I have no record of the above account and i am demanding that they disclose all of the documents upon which they are relying on, for the reporting on account. In accordance with their obligations under the Fair Credit Reporting Act 15 U.S.C 1681g the consumer is entitled to said records the requested. The information they are reporting is harming my reputation, its adversely affecting my credit worthiness and i am being denied credit as a result of this inaccurate reporting. They are in violation of the FCRA. On XX/XX/2018 i send a third letter, stating I have retained new copies of my credit reports and noticed that they did not furnish the credit bureaus with the required disclose within the period required by law. 807. False or misleading representations [ 15 USC 1692e ] ( 8 ) Communicating or threatening to communicate to any person credit information which is known or which should be known to be false, including the failure to communicate that a disputed debt is disputed.

Consumer Complaint: I cancelled XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. My final bill ( account number XXXX statement date XX/XX/XXXX ) showed I had an overpayment of {$30.00}. I returned the equipment in the box that they sent me using the US Postal Service in XX/XX/XXXX. I am now receiving collection action from ICSystem in the amount of {$280.00}. They told me this amount is partially for equipment and part unpaid bill. I know I don't owe any bill because I have the last statement showing that they owe me. I sent back all the equipment. I can not find the receipt from the post office. They told me all I can do is go online and tell them I want to dispute it so they can research it but the online forms makes me put in a date and tracking number and they know I don't have either and there is nowhere for me to show them that they say its for an unpaid bill but they owe me. I think they are taking advantage of me because I am a senior. Please help me. I do not owe them money, they owe me money. I attached my last bill and the collection bill. Thank you.

I have not had a XXXX account for a number of years & have never received any correspondence from ICSystem or XXXX during that length of time. I believe this is a fraudulent attempt to collect money where none is due or owed. I have requested any/all documentation that exists regarding this alleged balance due.
