Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Problem with personal statement of dispute
Consumer Complaint: I wrote and mailed a debt Validation certified letter to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX. They responded with a contract that was not signed by me. As you can see they forged my signature and copy and pasted on the form attached. The address they have listed for me I never lived at that address and was with XXXX in XXXX. So this is not proper proof saying this debt is mine. I reached out to the company twice on XXXX and XXXX to remove this from my credit reports and was denied both times. My next step it to star litigation against XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX, XXXX has sent me a communication to collect a debt without disclosing that they are a debt collection company or that the communication was a means of attempt to collect a debt. Consumer Complaint: I received a " bill '' dated XX/XX/XXXX from this company stating that I have an unpaid debt with them in the amount of {$1000.00}. I have never had any dealing with this company. On XX/XX/XXXX they signed for a certified letter that I sent them requesting validation, made pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act, along with the corresponding local state laws. I requested that I am asking for validation ; that is competent evidence bearing my HANDWRITTEN signature ( not a computer generated signature ), showing that I have ( or ever had ) some contractual obligation to pay them. I also advised, that any negative mark found on my credit reports ( including XXXX, XXXX and XXXX ) from your company or any company that you represent, for a debt that I dont owe, or have never owed, is a violation of the FCRA & FDCPA ; therefore if you can not validate the debt, you must request that all credit reporting agencies delete the entry. I did not receive any validation or correspondence from them. However, what I did receive was a notification from my credit monitoring service that they placed not one or two derogatory marks on all 3 of my credit reports but four ( 4 ). One on XX/XX/2017 ( before their initial " bill '' and the second on XX/XX/2017 ( 2 days after receiving my letter requesting validation ), XX/XX/2017 ( just after I filed a complaint with the BBB ) and the last one noted on XX/XX/2017. Making 4 negative entries on my credit reports has caused my credit score to drastically decrease between 20 - 45 points ( depending on the credit bureau ). These marks are clearly retaliation for me challenging them. XXXX XXXX never responded to me directly from the certified letter I sent them. They only responded to me through my complaint with the BBB, Their " verification '' is an itemized bill. According to XXXX ( attached ) this is NOT " verification ''. Removing ALL items that they placed on all 3 of my credit reports immediately and permanently. If this is not done within 30 days, I will be filing a suit in court and seeking a minimum of {$1000.00} in damages per violation for : a ) Defamation, b ) Negligent Enablement of Identity Fraud, 3 ) Violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( including but not limited to Section 807-8 ) and 4 ) Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( including but not limited to Section 623-b ).

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX has recently begun reporting an erroneous collection to the various reporting agencies on behalf of XXXX XXXX. I have never had an account with XXXX closed or left remaining with an open balance. I disputed the debt to XXXX XXXX, and XXXX replied that the information should be removed from my credit history, and it was. So, no issue there, except that they instructed XXXX and XXXX to continue reporting the identical account after instructing XXXX XXXX to remove it. I have attempted to dispute the collection and its reporting, but XXXX continues to verify to the credit reporting agencies that the debt as accurate. I can only assume they are n't bothering to check with XXXX, as I 'm positive even a cursory search will reveal the account is not mine. This brand new collection is causing a lot of damage to my credit just as I am attempting to buy a home, and I would like to avoid a lawsuit for this misplaced collection keeping me from that.

Consumer Complaint: I am not a robot, I am no credit repair company, I am a human being please assure I am not given a generated code from the computer with this investigation thank you. To whom it may concern this credit breach has bought to my attention that over the past couple years that these accounts were fraudulently open without my knowledge. I am in total shock, depressed and more so XXXX off for the most part that I didnt receive any alerts over the years. To my knowledge I was never contacted or I never gave any one consent to open up any accounts on my credit. Ive mailed over several certified letters and I havent gotten any responses in more than 180 days. I have contacted the state attorneys office and I have filed papers looking to take legal actions because I was never contacted by no one. By law someone must contact me and get consent from me in order to open any accounts on my credit file. If I am not contacted then either the individual that used my identity nor the creditor has the authority to override any consent on behalf of my name or identity. I would like to know the steps that are taken to verify a consumer? By law it states you must verify correctly 100 % before an account can be placed on a credit profile. It puts the creditor at fault and several FCRA laws has been broken in this case. I have contacted my lawyer as if yesterday and we are taking legal actions considering what response we receive and the outcome of this situation. If this isnt fixed or I dont receive a response I will have my lawyer file legal documents immediately following this message response. I also contacted FTC & BBB. I am allowing 5 days to come clean and remove the accounts. Please look at the attached photos. Thank you for your time.

Consumer Complaint: Approximately late XXXX, I had a door to door sales rep offer me an alternative energy provider. They had promised me a reduction in my electric bill and I had agreed to sign up. However, after the first month, it turned out that they were charging significantly higher rates than my previous supplier. This, understandably upset me and I called the company to get an explanation. I was put on hold until my call was disconnected. I called back several times over the course of 60 days. to cancel my service and was put on hold until the call terminated. I was not given a chance to cancel my service and was forced to resume services with my previous supplier. Currently they have hired a debt collection agency to come after me for a bill that I do not believe to be my responsibility. This company has provided substandard service and unfair business practices. They should not be allowed to mask their bullying tactics behind the age of the debt or through a XXXX party that has nothing to do with their actions.

Consumer Complaint: I received an email from a co-worker yesterday stating an automated call came to her for a XXXX XXXX XXXX. That is my maiden name. My colleague 's email to me is below : " Does you maiden name happen to be XXXX? I had an automated call today asking if I was XXXX XXXX XXXX press 1, if I need to get her press 2, if I wanted to leave a message 3 and not her press 4. On my phone it looks like the number is XXXX Convergent Res ( no area code is showing up though ) ''. I happen to google the company name and found out that it is a debit collection scam. First off, why are they calling a colleague? I have never heard of this company nor do I have any unpaid debit. I am in the process of re-financing my home mortgages and this does not look good.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: Convergent XXXX XXXX sent me a notice dated XX/XX/XXXX saying I owed {$290.00} for a XXXX account. It is a falsified debt. I have not had XXXX since XX/XX/XXXX. Attached see the text alert I received. I knew it was inaccurate because I did n't have a XXXX Card and had reported ID Theft to FTC on XX/XX/XXXX along with XXXX law enforcement report & number. I then called XXXX and placed Initial Fraud Alert for all credit bureaus. After sixty-two ( 62 ) days, I made placed a freeze on my credit reports. On one occasion, there was a breach in a credit bureau and some falsified debts did get through and placed on my credit history. Both are XXXX XXXX XXXX in origin. There are substantiating documents denying the debts. I have contacted Convergent twice to try to explain. I call from a financial institution. I am an identity theft victim and I do n't intend to give them any information. They will not listen or assist me because I will not give them my telephone number or email address. This concept is ridiculous as I do not need any more harassment. as a victim. See the documents attached and contact the company, please. Yes, I know it 's been a long time ; however, I do n't have a computer or smartphone. The closest library is 38 miles away and we live in a rural area without public transportation. Thank you so much for all your organisation has done for me for almost two years over the phone. received from XXXX XXXX ( with whom I have not an account with since before XX/XX/XXXX ). Also attached are correspondences, only two ( 2 ), as there have been numerous over the past twenty ( 20 ) months along with telephone calls with XXXX XXXX. This XXXX XXXX XXXX is very adamant that it is known the card was not initiated by me, no charges made by me and I had nothing to do with anything associated with their card services.
