Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Information belongs to someone else
Consumer Complaint: A collection debt is being reported on my credit report at all three credit reporting agencies that I does not belong to me. This is the second time that this debt has been reported to the credit agencies. This is also the second time that I am reporting this to CFPB. The first time was compliant number : XXXX. The first time the debt collections was reported by CONVERGENT OUTSOURCING and this time it is reported by XXXX XXXX. They have changed the debt amount by {$1.00} apparently to get around the requirement that this is not the same debt. The debt belongs to : XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX MD XXXX My name is : XXXX XXXX, not XXXX, and I have never lived at the address in XXXX. I do not have any money due payment to XXXX, nor have you or anyone else contacted me regarding this overdue account. I have previously contacted Convergent about the debt and they responded through you saying they needed more information to identify me. The contact email address they provided was incorrect. I have already provided in the compliant sufficient information to identify who I am and my credit report. There is only one collection account in my entire credit report and that is from convergent. Therefore, it should be obvious which collection account is incorrect. Also, the collection account records from Convergent are for someone with a different name and address to me.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX, I asked for validation of a debt reporting on my credit file by, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX . However, Convergent failed to validate this debt. Responding with a letter stating the debt was valid, along with a copy of a XXXX bill. This document serves no merit, my signature is not attached to it, nor does it has an actual contract with proof of ownership attached. However, I 'm in the process of buying a home and wanted to take care of this matter, because it is hurting my credit score. Even though I do n't owe this debt, I needed it handled. I reached out to XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX, XXXX to speak about handling the incorrect information on my credit report. I came to an agreement with the company to settle the debt for {$280.00}, set to come from a checking account on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. This payment was set up by XXXX XXXX XXXX. However, on XXXX XXXX, XXXX I cancelled this payment with XXXX XXXX XXXX until further notice. As I needed to do more research on the bill. XXXX XXXX XXXX assured me the payment had been cancelled. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX an alert was sent from the bank stating a charge of {$280.00} was sent from XXXX XXXX This company initiated funds from my account without my permission! This is 100 % against the law! I have spoken with XXXX XXXX on the matter, and the problem has still yet to be resolved! Convergent is now reported to my credit report account, as legally paid and or paid less than full balance. This is incorrect information and I demand it be removed from my credit report. This incorrect information has caused a tremendous blow to my credit score, due to this inaccurate information reporting. I have spoken with XXXX XXXX management on several occasions. Head manager XXXX XXXX has not helped me in anyway! He only offered a simple, I 'm sorry and this should not have happened! It will not fix the stress this incorrect information has caused. I am requesting that XXXX XXXX, cease all reporting to my credit profile. This company is very unprofessional and untrustworthy. They have caused me grave stress from this inaccurate information reporting. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly, XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I was called and offered a settlement on a debt for less then owed. I agreed to do it if they removed the collection from my credit report vs just saying it was paid. They agreed but once payment cleared they only updated it and refuse to remove it from my credit as promised. I feel it 's fraud.
