Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: When reviewing my credit report I discovered that this company " XXXX XXXX '' illegally re-inserted a XXXX collection account to my credit file in the amount of {$2500.00}. Per FCRA requirements listed below, I am supposed to be notified within 5 days of re-inserting a previously deleted item and as of XX/XX/2018 I still haven't received the required notification. In accordance with the requirements of the FCRA as stated below, I am hereby requesting your complete compliance with any and all of the provisions : *FCRA 611, Procedure in case of disputed accuracy [ 15 U.S.C. 1681i ] *Requirements relating to reinsertion of previously deleted material. *Certification of accuracy of information. If any information is deleted from a consumer 's file pursuant to subparagraph ( A ), the information may not reinserted in the file by the consumer reporting agency unless the person who furnishes the information certifies the information is complete and accurate. *If any information that has been deleted from a consumer 's file pursuant to subparagraph ( A ) is reinserted in the file, the consumer reporting agency shall notify the consumer of the reinsertion in writing not later than 5 business days after the reinsertion or, if authorized by the consumer for that purpose, by any other means available to the agency. Additional information. As part of, or in addition to, the notice under clause ( ii ), a consumer reporting agency shall provide to a consumer in writing no later than 5 business days after the reinsertion date. ( I ) a statement that the disputed information has been reinserted ; ( II ) the business name and address of any furnisher of information contacted and the telephone number of such furnisher, if reasonably available, or of any furnisher of information that contacted the consumer reporting agency, in connection with the reinsertion of such information ; and ( III ) a notice that the consumer has the right to add a statement to the consumer 's file disputing the accuracy or completeness of the disputed information. I received no such notification. This is a serious violation of the FCRA, and I reserve the right to pursue further action. Your agency may avoid such action by immediately deleting this listing from my credit report. Also, I have never done business with XXXX XXXX I don't have a signed contract nor any other type of contract with XXXX XXXX I have the right to demand to see a signed contract between myself and this company as well as validation ( not verification ) of this debt. I am requesting that this matter is investigated and the account is deleted from my credit files immediately or provide me with physical proof of a signed contract between me and XXXX XXXX and complete validation of the debt pursuant to FDCPA. Lastly, this account was illegally re-aged once the alleged debt was placed back on my credit report. Per Section 623 ( 5 ) ( A ) says : In general. A person who furnishes information to a consumer reporting agency regarding a delinquent account being placed for collection, charged to profit or loss, or subjected to any similar action shall, not later than 90 days after furnishing the information, notify the agency of the date of delinquency on the account, which shall be the month and year of the commencement of the delinquency on the account that immediately preceded the action.

Consumer Complaint: received letter in the mail from Convergent Outsourcing Inc, a supposed collection agency offering a reduced balance of a XXXX balance owed. I moved to this address not 4 months ago and have never had XXXX here or anywhere. I had XXXX XXXX internet without XXXX for the last 4 years but cancelled it when i moved to my new house. I verified with att and balance is {$0.00} and account is closed. the XXXX account on the scam letter is not even the same one i had with XXXX. The letter looks very carefully redacted and looks very official, but it is a scam. I searched online and saw dozens of other people being sent the same letter and suggesting it be reported to see if the company can be stopped from sending similar letters to less resouceful people.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX ; I cancelled my phone service with XXXX. I paid XXXX a total of {$340.00} to catch up on my bill so I wouldn't owe them any money and for them to close my account. I was told by a representative on the phone that the account was closed and my bill was all paid up. The only money I would owe to XXXX is for the cancellation fees of {$200.00} per line. Which would be a total of {$400.00}. I received a bill from XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX and called them because I didn't understand why I was still getting a bill from them for lines that were supposed to have been cut. I disputed this with XXXX and they said it would be taken care of and that they were sorry for the confusion. A while later, I noticed that the charge was showing up on my credit report for an outrageous amount of {$820.00}. I called the collection agency that reported this to the credit bureaus and I put in a dispute with the credit bureaus. The credit bureaus did their investigation ; the amount was known to be incorrect and it was removed from all 3 credit reporting agencies. Now in XX/XX/XXXX ; I check my credit report often and noticed that there is a new collection agency trying to collect the same inaccurate debt that the other one was. I called XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and talked to them and inquired about why they keep sending the debt with the incorrect amount to the credit bureaus and the representative told me she understands that the debt is wrong and they will be sending it to her Resolution Supervisor. I am tired of dealing with this same situation over and over again with XXXX reporting wrong information and my credit taking a massive hit for it. I told the representative that I have documents showing the last payment made to them and she went on to tell me that they don't see that payment in their system ; so she doesn't know what happen. She also went on to tell me that I should owe only the cancellation fees for the lines which would total {$480.00}. I told her that the amount is inaccurate and by law they aren't supposed to send the wrong information to collection agencies if it's inaccurate. I had this same issue before with XXXX giving wrong information and it was deleted from my credit but now this same scenario has resurfaced. I am in the process of buying a home and this is messing with my credit unnecessarily.

Consumer Complaint: I have a few listings on my credit report that never happened. I have never heard of XXXX XXXX. I am not sure why are they coming on up my credit score saying I owe them money.. It states as of XX/XX/XXXX I owe them {$590.00} and {$260.00}. The listing for {$590.00} is dated for XX/XX/XXXX. The listing for {$260.00} is dated for XX/XX/XXXX. As i stated earlier in this complaint, I have never heard of this company so I am confused as to how is it that I owe them any money. They have never tried to contact me via mail, email, or telephone. I have read some reviews which states that this company is fraud. I would like this to be looked into. Also is there anyway possible for me to get a validation letter of everything listed on my credit report, because everything listed on my credit report are all from companies in which I have never heard of or recieved anything from.. I have two from listings from XXXX XXXX which are {$2000.00} and {$660.00}. The {$2000.00} listing date is from XX/XX/XXXX and the {$660.00} listing date is XX/XX/XXXX. I have never heard of them before. Lastly, I have a listing from XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$380.00} and the date is XX/XX/XXXX..
