Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, Convergent Outsourcing , Inc. a collection company, began to report a collection account to my XXXX and my XXXX reports, claiming to have a debt that belonged to me from XXXX for a cable bill in the amount of {$560.00} that I allegedly owed from XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent a letter to Convergent Outsourcing , Inc., asking them for proof of the debt and asking for the proper documentation that actually validates the debt. In response, they only sent an itemized list of charges, but they did not give me a signed contract or any other documentation that properly validates the date. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent another letter to Convergent Outsourcing , Inc., again asking for proper proof and validation of the debt that they said that I owed. I also asked that they remove the debt from any of my credit reports ( namely XXXX and XXXX ). Again, they sent the exact same letter with the same information as the 1st letter. I also disputed this information with XXXX and XXXX during XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX, and both credit bureaus reported the collection account with Convergent Outsourcing , Inc. as verified, but I was never given information about how the debt was verified from either Convergent Outsourcing, Inc. or from either bureau, even though I asked. During XX/XX/XXXX, I also sent a letter to Convergent Outsourcing in which I offered to make a lump sum payment of a specific amount ( without acknowledging that the debt belonged to me ), if in return, this information would immediately be deleted from my reports, However, they have not responded to me at this time, and I am no longer willing to consider paying anything to Convergent. I am asking is that Convergent Outsourcing either properly verifies the debt or immediately remove this information from my credit reports. A copy of the response letter that was sent to me from Convergent Outsourcing will be attached. A copy of the last two response letters that were sent to me from both XXXX and XXXX will be attached.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: Received repeated automated calls from several different numbers stating that action was being taken against me. When I press 1 to speak to a person, they say I owe a debt for a credit card that went to collections. Per the attached document, I settled this debt in 2015. Their response was that they don't work on commission so why would they lie. I don't care if you work on commission, I don't owe any money on this account, please stop calling. After several to attempts to explain that the debt is paid, they sent the attached letter saying that due to lack information provided, they have been unable to complete their investigation of my account. I then mailed them the attached letter showing no money due for the account in questions, and continue to receive calls.
