Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing, Inc. has reported collection activity to the credit rating agencies and damaged my credit score. The debt that Convergent Outsourcing is trying to collect is not my debt. It relates to a XXXX bill owed by somebody who either has my same first and last name or who has impersonated me. In any event, I have never lived at the address where the XXXX XXXX in question was obtained in XXXX. That address is in XXXX XXXX, Georgia. I have never lived in XXXX XXXX, Georgia. Moreover, I have lived in XXXX XXXX, California, for the past 5 years. I have repeatedly written to Convergent Outsourcing and demanded that they fix this issue by removing the derogatory information from my credit reports. On both XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX, I wrote Convergent Outsourcing detailed letters and provided supporting documentation. Convergent Outsourcing has not responded to my XX/XX/XXXX letter and continues to report the derogatory information to the credit rating agencies ( the most recent reporting date was XX/XX/XXXX ). This is outrageous.

Consumer Complaint: Regarding {$370.00} Balance with XXXX XXXX History : My divorce was finalized XX/XX/XXXX. I was not living at the marital home for a year prior to that date. My ex-husband according to the decree was responsible for the house and expenses. When he moved out 2 years later in XX/XX/XXXX, he decided to not to continue paying the XXXX XXXX bill. Dispute : XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX reported the debt using a collection agency appearing as XXXX. I disputed this and submitted my divorce decree. The debt was removed from my XXXX and XXXX reports. Then this year, XXXX XXXX has reported on my XXXX credit report using a collection agency appearing as Convergent for the same amount ( {$370.00} ) DATED XX/XX/XXXX - Thus negatively RE-AGING the debt ( against the law for those who don't know. ) XXXX was no help in solving this, as they only confirmed with Convergent as to what they already filed. Convergent is standing by their claim that the age of the debt is correct and that my divorce does not matter.

Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing is attempting to collect on an account that I have no knowledge of and that I have already reported to the credit bureaus as not being my account. I have contacted them asking that they validate not verify the debt that they are attempting to collect from me and derogatorily reporting on my credit reports. I specifically requested signed contracts or other supporting documentation, the only thing that I keep receiving back is that the account has been verified which does not prove that I am obligated to pay them anything which is not the truth because this account does not belong to me. They have reported delinquent information to the credit bureaus since XX/XX/2016 I am asking be deleted.
