Consumer Complaint: I received an official looking letter from a company called Convergent, trying to collect a debt that I dont owe and know is a scam. After looking up this company, I know its a scam. Theyve also tried sending my friend letters like this before, pretending to settle the debt for a lower amount. Theyve already scammed me out of hundreds of dollars before I realized what they do.

Consumer Complaint: In around 2010 I started a phone line with XXXX. I was unable to pay the final balance and was recently reminded by a letter over 8 years later. There is a derogatory mark on my credit report through XXXX which was from about 8-9 years ago now. I never received this information until recently and though it is still owed this should have fallen off of my credit report by now. I recently had to pay medical bills and pay all of my credit cards on time but this derogatory mark is making it hard for me to really improve my credit. I will continue to work to pay this old balance off but until then it is hard for me to get a good credit card or even an apartment lease. If XXXX would remove this mark from my credit report it would allow me to take the next steps in improving my credit and paying off all of my debt.

Consumer Complaint: Keep getting repeated robot calls from this company, Convergent, all hours of day and night. The problem is that I am not XXXX?? and do not have any bad debt.. My FICO score is XXXX and no bad credit on my file for over 30 years. The calls keep asking for a XXXX?? ( can not spell the last name ). I have called them and asked them to remove my name from call list as there is no XXXX?? at this number. They promise to do so, but calls continue. Latest call was this morning at XXXX XXXX. The number that called was from XXXX, but called ID states it is from Convergent. I have also gone to their web site and filled out the form to stop the calls, but they continue this harassment. Wish the CFPB could help me.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2018 Convergent Outsourcing contacted me about what turns out was an old XXXX bill for {$750.00}, which was incorrect way back a long time ago. I told the representative, who sounded foreign, that I do not owe that because it was discharged several years prior because I had contacted XXXX a long time ago and they told me it had been discharged. He began to raise his voice and tell me I was wrong and yell. I told him I wasn't paying it and they need to remove it because it should not be on my credit report. He kept talking over me and threatened to report it on my credit, which they did immediately. I told him not to ever call me or contact me in any way again. Since then, it keeps getting reported to look like there are late payments and at first glance it looks like it's an account that was opened in XXXX of 2018 because they actually had reported it then. It has been updated every month since XX/XX/2018 and looks like late payments. I do not owe these people and I want it removed from any credit bureau they have reported it to. I was so upset after this guy 's harassing call, I was in tears. I have enough on my plate with health problems and stress in my family. Please, please help me get this removed. I have read other peoples ' issues in dealing with this company and some are very similar to mine and worse. Thank you.

I have not once even spoken to convergent outsourcing about this yet they say I owe them money and then update it to I dont owe them money. I have never signed one contract with them. I have sent 100s of validation letters and they never respond! My issue has always been settled with the original person yet they fraudulently report it. They really need to read and understand the laws surrounding this. They are an illegal company preaching illegal tactics

Consumer Complaint: I recently checked my credit reports and there is a collection account showing on my credit reports for a company called Convergent Outsourcing. The original account holder is XXXX and in the amount of {$720.00}. This alleged account does not belong to me and is causing negative information to be reported. I've already reached out to XXXX and they advised me to reach out to Convergent Outsourcing to have the negative information disputed and removed. I have disputed the Convergent Outsourcing collection account with all 3 credit bereaus and they refuse to remove the alleged debt. At this point I would just like it to be removed so that I may be able to acquire new credit and build a positive portfolio.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I sent Convergent a Debt Validation letter requesting that they send me a contract with my signature on it as proof that the debt is mines. I also requested that they send me validation of the money that they are saying I owe, explain and show me how the balance was calculated, provide me with copies that show I agreed to do business with them, a verification or copy of any judgment applicable, identify the original creditor, show me that they are license to collect in my state and provide me with license numbers and Registered Agent or Agent of Services. The only thing that I received in response was a letter stating that the investigation was complete and the debt was valid. They attached a bill that only showed the amount due but they did not attach a signed document stating that this debt belonged to me. I have no knowledge of ever having a XXXX XXXX account and therefore this debt does not belong to me. On XX/XX/2019 I sent a 2nd Debt Validation request to Convergent Outsourcing, Inc askign for the same documents that I asked for before. They sent me a letter dated for XX/XX/2019 stating that they are not currently handling the account anymore and that they will submit a request to the credit reporting agencies to delete the collection. As of XX/XX/2019 the collection is still listed on all 3 of the credit reporting agencies stating that I still owe this debt.

There are two entries as detailed below. the original creditor is XXXX in the amount of {$300.00}. XXXX sold the debt to Convergent Outsourcing to collect. I did take a ding for this on my credit. Additionally, XXXX XXXX is now reporting on the same debt, which I took a second hit for on my credit. I did speak with both to ensure this is the same debt from the XXXX. It is my understanding that a debt collector must delete their reported collection if their collection authority has been terminated with the debt remaining unpaid.

Consumer Complaint: At XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX a company who the caller ID says is Convergent called for my brother. I am his guardian. He is a XXXX XXXX handicapped man who lives in a group home. I explained this along with the concept if someone was XXXX enough to loan him money they deserved to lose it but any money he owed would be over 8 years old and to not call again as he was not ever going to be here. At XXXX they called again and it was the same agent I had just spoken to. Not going to put up with this.
