Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I received a letter from Convergent Outsourcing on or around XX/XX/XXXX that was dated XX/XX/2020 stating that they were representing XXXX in the amount of {$3100.00}. The letter stated that I had 30 days after receiving the letter to notify them that I was disputing the debt. I wrote to them at the P.O. Box that they listed in the letter, disputing the debt and requesting validation of the debt on XX/XX/2020 via certified mail. According the USPS, the letter was available for pickup for them at XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2020. To date, I have not received any additional correspondence from Convergent Outsourcing. Today, I was notified that Convergent Outsourcing has reported this debt to all three credit bureaus, but neglected to provide me with validation of the debt. They state on their website that they do not own the debt and are not always provided with itemized statements. They go on to say that they will request the information on your behalf from the original creditor and will mail that information to you when they receive it. I assumed that they were still in the process of requesting the information and was quite surprise to learn that they have reported the debt to the credit bureaus without providing the validation of the debt.

Consumer Complaint: Company Convergent is engaging in unethical and bad faith practices. I made a payment arrangement on XX/XX/XXXX or XXXX and paid XXXX dollars and told them within two weeks -I still owed XXXX dollars. I got multiple letters from them during this two week time frame The one in front of me said I owed XXXX ( incorrect amount dated XXXX after we made payment arrangement and I had already mad a payment ). We had settled for approx XXXX dollars. My second and final payment was to be on XX/XX/XXXX. They turned in my info to the credit bureau XX/XX/XXXX. I paid the rest of the settlement yesterday on XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX got info from XXXX XXXX that an account was added. Convergent turned it in before my last and final payment of XXXX dollars. They reported it to the bureau with the amount of XXXX. It is already paid off. The company did not allow the arrangement to be completed before reporting. It should be removed.

Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: I was contacted by Convergent Outsourcing Inc XX/XX/XXXX and again on XX/XX/XXXX about a {$1200.00} debt from XXXX. Someone fraudulently opened an account with XXXX with my name and address in XX/XX/XXXX and signed up for paperless billing so I never received a bill or any other communications directly from XXXX. Convergent placed a collections notice on my credit report and I contacted them told them the debt was fraudulent as was told to supply a police report about the incident and to send in a form. I submitted the police report and form and shortly there after the collections notice was removed from my credit report. On XX/XX/XXXX I was contacted by XXXX XXXX about the same {$1200.00} fraudulent XXXX account. It appears the Convergent resold my debt after they received proof that it was fraudulent.

Consumer Complaint: I disputed this account with Convergent Outsourcing stating this is not my account and it was updated a valid on my credit reports. They did not provide any signed contract or anything else stating this account was mines. This company is in violation of the FCRA for verifying the account as valid with the credit bureaus without providing the proper evidence as requested. They are major discrepancies which this company is intentionally ignoring and the law is clear as to civil liability and remedies available to me ( section 616 & 617 ) if you fail to comply with Federal law. I am a litigious consumer and fully intend on pursing litigation in the matter to enforce my rights under FCRA.

Consumer Complaint: One evening my ex-husband and I went into a XXXX XXXX store to look at prices for new phones. The agent showed us some and we told him they were too expensive and too much for our budget. The agent kept trying to push us to purchase them and we kept saying no. It was getting late and it was time for the store to close so we were leaving when the agent told us to take the phones home, look over them and get a feel for everything they could do. We said sure but that we were sure we weren't going to purchase them. *We didn't sign anything*. The next morning we were at the store when they opened and we returned the phones. We said they were far too expensive for our budget and we couldn't afford them, and we left the phones with the agent. Within a week we started getting bills in the mail for the phones. I called them over and over again and told them that we didn't have them and they needed to speak to the agent. After a while XXXX turned us into Convergent Outsourcing ( a debt collection place ) and I tried to fight it but didn't have any luck. NOW, Convergent is submitting the debt to the credit bureaus EVERY MONTH stating that the account was opened in XX/XX/XXXX, which makes it look like I've been delinquent very recently, when in fact this occurred in XXXX. But they are hurting my credit every month by doing this. I had contacted their company many times and explained what occurred but they told me I owed it, but I don't.

Consumer Complaint: i sent letters to this collector on XX/XX/2020 and i have not received anything back. they only have 15 days to provide me with everything that i asked for in this letter i sent but they disregarded it which means this item should be deleted from my credit report. sending a bill is not acceptable because i can type a bill and just say someone owe me so i demand to see where i signed for this which is not true.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Consumer Complaint: After receiving notification of this debt from my credit report, I contacted the agency several times. First contact was XX/XX/2019. They responded. The information provided to the Credit Bureaus is INACCURATE. My initial dispute with this agency is that I do not owe them. I owe their client. And they are misrepresenting this within my credit file. I asked them to remove/delete this item. They refused. The debt they say I owe them is one in which they purchased from another creditor. This is a violation of the FCRA to have a 3rd party entering information in my credit file. I did not receive any services from this agency and therefore they have no permission to include this debt as owed to them within my credit files.

Consumer Complaint: I paid XXXX directly in full of {$450.00} on XX/XX/2020. XXXX stated the bill was paid in full and no credit collection acts would take place. By law, XXXX must recall the debt from Convergent Outsourcing. Therefore, Convergent Outsourcing has no legal reason to be reporting on my credit reports and must delete.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: HIS COMPANY HAS REPORTED A NEGATIVE AND INVALID COLLECTION ACCOUNT ON MY CREDIT REPORT CAUSING SEVERE DAMAGE TO MY CREDIT SCORE STOPING ME FROM PURCHASING A HOUSE AND I NEED IT REMOVED IMMEDIATELY! THIS ACCOUNT IS NOT MINE! THIS IS MY SECOND TIME CONTACTING THIS COMPANY AND THEY HAVE NOT FIXED THE ISSUE. For months this company has been reporting inaccurate, unverifiable, erroneous things on my credit report and I am sick of it!! This company is reporting NEGATIVE and INVALID information on my credit report and is severely affecting my credit score. The account information that this company is providing can not be proven because they do not have the original signed document saying that I owe them a debt which is A direct violation of my CIVIL RIGHTS according to the FCRA section 609. This company must remove their account from my credit reports immediately and permanently. A DELETION OF THIS ACCOUNT FROM MY CREDIT REPORT IS A FAIR RESOLUTION. Please be advised I have requested validation { not verification } of an item reported to you by the above original creditor/collection agency. I have received a response that does not indicate or prove : 1. I had this service. 2. What services I am being charged for. 3. What the cost of each service I am being charged for. I will proceed with legal action as prescribed by law against the above-named original creditor/collection agency. A response with a bill is NOT evidence of proof that the debt is mine. Anyone can open an account under my name for which a bill is produced, but that doesn't mean it was actually me or that the debt is actually mine. I need real evidence. This evidence consists of a contract from the original creditor or some agreement bearing MY written signature agreeing to pay the debt. In the absence of this evidence I ask you to please remove this account from my credit report. I will proceed with legal action as prescribed by law against the above-named original creditor/collection agency. Should this item not be deleted within the required time allowed by law I will seek every legal remedy available to me and file suit against the credit bureau responsible for reporting this violation. I urge you to take this extremely seriously as I have documented my case without error. I encourage a response from you expeditiously. A DELETION OF THIS FROM MY ACCOUNT FROM MY CREDIT REPORT IS A FAIR RESOLUTION. I need this Account removed to be eligible to buy a house have a heart and remove it please.
