Consumer Complaint: I was notified by Convergent Outsourcing Inc. on XX/XX/2020 of an account that was allegedly owned by me from XXXX. I responded to convergent on XX/XX/2020 with a request for validation of the debt and I never received any verification from their company. I received a notice via email on XX/XX/2020 that the account was now on my credit report and it has caused my credit score to drop a considerable amount. My request was received and signed by XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2020. I never received a response to my request and the company has illegally placed the account on my credit report. on XX/XX/2020 I spoke with two individuals that stated they did not have to respond to my request and that all they needed was my name and social security number to place the account on my credit report. On XX/XX/2020 I spoke with XXXX XXXX, and her supervisor XXXX XXXX and they were both rude and dismissive of my complaint. I was told by XXXX XXXX that I issued a cease and desist order and the order stated that " until they provided the requested documentation they should cease and desist all further attempts to collect the debt ''. I have received absolutely no correspondence from the company at all.

Consumer Complaint: I contacted CONVERGENT OUTSOURCING and indicated I needed to know how the cable company ( XXXX ) had come to the amount they were trying to collect. ( {$400.00} ) I asked for them to send me a debt validation to include how they had come up to the amount. I indicated I had every intention to pay if I could figure out the nature of the charges as I believed that the owed amount was already addressed previously. I never got the debt validation and I see that this agency reported me to the credit bureau ( XXXX ). I contacted the agency again and they informed me that they were going to report my account to yet another credit bureau unless I make the payment in full prior to them reporting it to XXXX as well. I asked them if they had sent the debt validation via certified mail, since they would be able to see that I never got it. They claim certified mail is not a requirement and they only send via regular mail. I have verified the correct address but I am not getting the mail. Now I have two options, wait for the debt validation and have my credit report be affected even more. Or make the payment blindly without getting the debt validation.

Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I received a first communication dated XX/XX/XXXX with a settlement offer for an alleged debt. Hidden on the back was the required right to dispute within 30 days. I did sent a letter to dispute and request full validation on XX/XX/XXXX. It has been over 30 days and I have not received anything from this unknown company. However, since that letter was sent this company has reported it to the credit bureaus which they should not have done until the validation was received. They reported it approximately XX/XX/XXXX as disputed so they obviously received the request for validation and dispute. Copies of their notice and my reply are included.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: This company has no legal, binding contract and has been reporting erroneous information to the credit bureaus illegally. I have been requesting that this company send me evidence that they can legally report this information to the credit bureaus since the beginning of this year. I have given them chance after chance to correct their information and present me with the correct evidence. They have removed the report from one of the credit bureaus but not the others. They continuously send me copies of a bill even after multiple rejections of this " evidence ''. I have requested validation and not verification multiple times to no avail which leads me to believe they have no binding contract and are reporting this information illegally.
