Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Information belongs to someone else
Consumer Complaint: I received a collection letter from XXXX XXXX approximately one year ago. I have never had an account with XXXX XXXX, and have never lived in their service area. Indeed, they sent the collection letter to XXXX, IA, which is an address they should have known is inconsistent with an account relationship. I immediately called to tell them I had no relationship with them. I called from my cell phone, but did not give them my cell phone number, nor did I give them authority to call that number. Several months letter, I received a call on my cell phone from a collection agency. I again told them it is not my account, I have never had an account with XXXX XXXX, and I have never lived in their service area. They refused to provide any information to indicate that I ever had a relationship with XXXX XXXX ( e.g., original contract, address of service, date of service, etc. ). They simply said they would put my number on their do not call list. Today I pulled my credit reports because I am purchasing a new home, and there is an adverse item listed from Convergent Outsourcing collecting for XXXX XXXX that I have an account in collections. This is inaccurate. Both XXXX XXXX and Convergent Outsourcing are well aware that I have never had an account with XXXX XXXX, and that ( as the very credit report to which they made the fraudulent entry reveals ) I have never lived in a XXXX XXXX service area. This is merely a shake down because they skip traced my name to an address in Iowa, which they should know is inaccurate because my address history contains no addresses within the XXXX XXXX service area.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: I received a debt collection notice from Convergent Outsourcing , Inc. on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX from a credit card company called XXXX XXXX stating I owed {$1100.00}. I contacted XXXX XXXX and also contacted Convergent and asked that they provide proof that I owed this debt and neither company could provide me with any type of documentation. I do not owe the supposed debt and I do not want this to go on my credit report. I am very upset that companies are trying to take advantage of people during a crisis.

Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing, Inc sent me a letter on XX/XX/XXXX stating that I owe a debt in the amount of {$16000.00} to XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX. They also state that they are willing to reduce the amount by 35 % to {$5.00}, XXXX. ACCOUNT NUMBER : XXXX. The letter doesn't not include enough information about this debt. I've never heard of XXXX XXXX, XXXX. Original creditor XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I am filing a dispute about the debt they are trying to collect. They contacted me by mail, on XX/XX/XXXX and identified the debt as XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I don't not owe this debt. I've called several times and someone repeatedly hangs up the phone. I've researched both companies and no additional identifiable information is available. This is the second time this fraudulent company has tried to accuse me of a debt I do not owe. Similar debt with different amounts from a different creditor. See my previous complaint I filed in XX/XX/XXXX. This needs to stop. Please stop sending me fraudulent letter claiming I owe debt. LEAVE ME ALONE LIARS. Hide full complaint

Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing INC are violating my rights because they are still reporting this UNVERIFIED debt as mine and they're many inaccuracies in their reporting. In response to my initial attempt to validate the debt they responded with a bill.. A bill DOES NOT constitute as debt validation.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I began to attend XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and a loan was opened through a student loan company called XXXX XXXX. I decided to drop out of school because XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX was a terrible school where students were not taught anything, there were several fights between the students, and students had to learn everything on their own. That school still decided to charge me and my mom separately and we both paid off our debt with XXXX XXXX by XX/XX/XXXX. Until this day, that loan shows up on my credit score as " paid off ''. Since I did not complete the program, I was left with a loan amount of {$1700.00}. That was the agreement between the school and I so I paid it off late, but I eventually paid the amount that was agreed upon. Since then, I have received letters from different collection companies trying to charge me crazy amounts of money that I never agreed to pay. I have been able to report them and they have been removed from my credit because it turns out they are scammers. Today, however, I received a letter in the mail from a company called " Convergent '' charging me {$9400.00} from the Original Creditor : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I have never heard of this company before, I called and they didn't answer, and the first letter I received was a " Reduced Balance Opportunity '' letter when I have proof that I have paid my loan with XXXX, and I have also never heard from that company before. My agreement was with XXXX, and XXXX XXXX. After receiving this letter, I am convinced that XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX was a school involved in fraud, and they are the ones who gave or are giving my information to other companies. There was never an agreement for {$9400.00}. I am filing this complaint because I need help and I hope that XXXX doesn't try to to this to other students who once paid off their loans. I hope I can do something about this and that I can stop receiving letters from different companies who are clearly scammers.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 I sent a certified letter to Convergent for an alleged debt for a collection. I feel that these accounts are adversely affecting my credit report and costing me thousands of dollars in interest every year. I need this problem fixed asap. I demand these accounts be deleted immediately or I will file for litigation due to the stress you caused me. Section 611 ( a ) it is plainy stated that a failure to investigate these items within 30 days gives a reason to immediately remove those items from my credit report. They are in violation according to the FDCPA. The violations are 15 USC 1692 B 5 and 15 USC 1692 B 2. Also, the name on the account is inaccurate, unverifiable, and incorrect. # 1 who gave them my location information, # 2 where they present for this transaction that that they are referring to. # 3 I was not delinquent on anything, there is nothing that defines what delinquent is. There is no such thing as delinquencies. They didnt have permission to contact me Pursuant 1692 C, they didnt have my prior consent. Thats a violation. Where did you get my location information, which is my address? Who granted them permission to contact me? Threatening to report credit information that which isnt true, that another violation. They are violating my consumer rights ; I am a Federally Protected Consumer Under Title 15 Chapter 41. They are infringing up on my privacy and you are violating my right.

Consumer Complaint: I've written and disputed this account with Convergent Outsourcing. I do not know who they are or why they are on my credit. I have never applied for credit with them! They have never sent me anything in the mail, ever! I did some research and found that if they are going to report to the credit bureaus, I have to apply for credit, I also found that I have the right to dispute the debt, which I've done, and they have sent me nothing, ever! I do not believe they are following the laws I've read about such as the FCRA! I think you need to help!
