Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, I purchased a phone number from the XXXX store because my old number was disactivated but I didn't like the number I bought so I tried to change but they told me that I needed to pay a fee of XXXX $ to open a new account and get a new number so I did, I payed the XXXX $ and I bought myself a new phone number but the lady helping me out forgot to disactivate the other number so XXXX charged me for every month even though I was not using the phone number. In summary I was charged a debt of XXXX $ for a phone number ( postpaid ) I was not even using because some lady forgot to disactivate it ... I tried a hundred times to dispute the transaction, I talked with 20 or more people on the phone contacted their debt collector company called " convergent outsourcing '' and they kept refusing to give me an explanation for the debt, they didn't know why I was being charged, they even told me that they conducted an investigation and that they sent me a mail to my mailbox but I did not receive anything. They ended up offering me a discount of XXXX $ and pay XXXX $ to clear the debt. I kept arguing with XXXX and convergent on the phone in vein. I was obliged to pay the debt of XXXX $ because they would eventually charge me the debt. If I hadn't payed the debt they would have pursued me.

Consumer Complaint: I received a collection letter from Convergent Outsourcing Inc of XXXX on a debt that has been paid. Their file number is XXXX They claim the collection was purchased from another company called XXXX XXXX XXXX. The debt stemmed from a credit card at XXXX XXXX XXXX, since purchased by XXXX. It is a settlement offer on a {$10000.00} debt for {$3800.00}. In XXXX, I was sued for the balance and it became a judgement in XXXX County Oregon, Case # XXXX. In XXXX of XXXX, I was contacted by a collection company regarding this judgment. It was settled in XX/XX/XXXX. The judgment was released in XXXX of XXXX. Copies of correspondence is attached to this complaint. This is the second account that Outsourcing has contacted me about. The first one was uncollectable and they clearly had written on their collection letter is may be reported to the Credit Companies. That statement is incorrect. The ultimately sent the file back after being contacted by you. I believe they are engaged in a scheme to collect debt that is not owed. This matter, together with the other one is causing undue stress in my life. I do not want to ever hear from then again for any reason, It should be noted that I legally changed my name to XXXX XXXX. It is no longer XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I am filing a CPFB complaint because of the continuous report of an unknown account in my credit report. As I am reviewing my credit report I see this XXXX XXXX ( Original Creditor : XXXX XXXX XXXX ) XXXXI am not familiar with this account so I disputed this right away. I informed XXXX XXXX that I never own an account with XXXX. I was scared at that time thinking that someone might have my credit information and open this account. After I disputed this with XXXX XXXX, this account was removed from my credit report after a month, and no XXXX account reporting in my file. However now on my XX/XX/2020 credit report, I see that this account now reporting in a different collection company and different account numbers. After a few months of not seeing this account, this XXXX account is now reporting as CONVERGENT OUTSOURCING ( Original Creditor : XXXX XXXX ) XXXX. It is illegal to report a Fraud account on my file. And what worried me most is this account can be deleted and be reported back to with a different name and account number at any time. I need XXXX and CONVERGENT OUTSOURCING to take action and REMOVE THIS ACCOUNT COMPLETELY IN MY CREDIT REPORT.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I submitted my initial complaint ( XXXX ) for an account appearing on my credit report that I never opened or received any goods or services on behalf of. At the time I I've noticed yet another clear violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act being permitted by Convergent Outsourcing whom has violated section 1692e 8 ( Communicating or threatening to communicate to any person credit information which is known or which should be known to be false, including the failure to communicate that a disputed debt is disputed ) Convergent Outsourcing has failed to mark this debt or account has disputed which is automatic grounds for removal of this account from credit report. The companies reply was, Convergent Outsourcing will update the disputed status of the account to the credit bureaus ; as required. As of today, XX/XX/XXXX, this account is still reporting to the credit bureaus and has failed to mark this debt or account as disputed which is automatic grounds for removal of this account from credit report.
