Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I had XXXX as cable company for 3-4 years. Upon purchasing a new home i tried transferring services with them to my new address but they did not offer service at the new address. I then had to cancel my service. I was told I owe {$0.00} I paid all my bills on time never late on anything. I have perfect credit and have never missed a payment and have no derogatory credit at all. After a year I received a collection notice saying I owed a collection company or XXXX over {$890.00} for terminating my services early. I called XXXX and asked for proof of any contract XXXX phone recording with me agreeing to a contract or written contract ) they provided me with nothing. If there is proof of me agreeing to a contract after having services with them for over 2 years Im more then happy to pay what I owe. But they wont provide proof of anything. I had XXXX from XXXX to XXXX when I moved to my new address. I tried calling the collection agency not only do the refuse to delete this collection or provide proof of contract but they hang up on me every time I call, I cant even speak with a supervisor. Im beyond frustrated because this is dropping my credit score over 40 points and Im personally in the financial services field with no derogatory remarks on credit except for this. I even went to a XXXX location and they said your right you owe {$0.00} but you need to take this up with customer service and or collection company but they are not doing anything for me and I have been trying to get this removed for over a year. Please help me get this deleted off my credit. The collection company is convergent outsourcing. I would like this collection deleted off my credit report please

Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I viewed my credit file and found an account from a company I have never heard of. Convergent Outsourcing. I have never applied for credit with this company and do not know who they are. I understand they are supposed to send me written notification if they legally intend to credit report in my name. They failed. I have since written them requesting validation of this account, again, they have sent me nothing, failing in their obligations. I am appalled at their lack of communication. I am desperately trying to find someone to help me, as a consumer, it should not be this difficult to obtain information from someone reporting information about me. I have read the the FCRA and FDCPA were written to protect me from this exact thing. I have also read that ONLY YOU CAN HELP ME!

I called today to try to work something out however got the phone imaging up in my face five times before finally speaking to someone and the woman that I spoke to was very rude and unprofessional and she was not willing to work with me or understand my situation. I explained to her I am currently unemployed. I lost everything back in XXXX and now Im trying to get everything in order for myself and now due to COVID 19 its a lot harder for me to do those things. Consumer Complaint: I have advised XXXX on several occasions that this account is in dispute and I would like an arbitration form. They have refused to answer me, now I am being negatively reported by this company for the debt. This company has never once sent me a letter telling me they had the debt so I could dispute and advise them that I am disputing this entire debt with XXXX This is unfair, I have not had the opportunity to dispute this and this is negatively effecting me through their sneaky reporting.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I was made aware that I had a delinquent account with sprint mobile in the amount of {$120.00} My account with XXXX was closed in the fall of XXXX. XXXX assessed additional charges and sent this bill to convergent outsourcing. I received no communications regarding the delinquent account from XXXX or convergent outsourcing. I was made aware of this situation as im in the process of purchasing my first home, and upon pulling my credit, convergent has reported this to multiple credit bureaus effectively dropping my credit score from Excellent to poor. I have since taken care of the debt owed, however, my credit is damaged to a point where I may not be able to finalize my mortgage on XX/XX/XXXX on the house I have under contract. This is unfair and unjust. I had not been made aware of this and am seeking justice to have this removed from my credit report

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, after checking my credit report, I noticed I had a collection agency charge for {$3100.00}, with the original debt collector being XXXX. After calling the debt collector, I was told the the account was open in XXXX. I explained that I was still in high school, never had heard of the address that they had on file, and had never opened an account with XXXX. I asked for a copy of the contract with my signature and some identification that showed I had opened the account. It was explained that those records could not be provided due to the length of the account. I filed a dispute with that company and all three credit bureaus. The account was removed. On XX/XX/XXXX, the information again appeared on my credit report. I immediately filed a dispute with the credit bureaus. I called Convergent Outsourcing explaining the situation and what steps to take to get the item removed. The agent told me that I would have to provide them with a police report. At this point, I have never had any contact with this company. The address that she had on file was one that I had never heard of. I provided the agent with my address to send all correspondence. At this point, this account is not and was never one that I owned and I am requesting that it be removed from my credit report.
