Consumer Complaint: Hello, I have reached out to Convergent several times to remove this collection account. Neither time was this company able to validate it but the account remains on my credit report. When I asked for a signed contract that is required, they were unable to provide it. They have only sent me a bill. This is not what I asked for and does not validate anything. Please have this issue resolved. If a signed contract can not be provided the debt must be removed immediately.

Issue: False statements or representation
Subissue: Attempted to collect wrong amount
Consumer Complaint: Received notice from Convergent Outsourcing Inc regarding a XXXX bill. As I have numerous XXXX accounts I asked them to send validation of the debt and what was the service address. They sent a letter saying it is a valid debt and included a XXXX statement dated XX/XX/18. It had no information as to the location nor why the money was owed. I called Convergent. I was told this was the only information XXXX provided them. I was told to call XXXX which I did. XXXX had no information because they apparently sold this account to Convergent. According to XXXX, Convergent has all information on the account. There are several problems here. I realize it is a small amount. Had I received a bill in XX/XX/2018 I would have paid it. Now 2 1/2 years have passed and the collection agency, out of the blue, wants me to pay a bill that neither they, nor their client can provide me proof of the debt. And the collection agency says, again, that I need to get this information from XXXX. XXXX looked it up by my SSN, the account number, the phone number, etc. My issue is, if these companies are going to buy and account, then they must assume responsibility for the information they have. If not, then drop it!

Consumer Complaint: There is a collection that recently appeared on my XXXX report that i did not recognized. It was reported on XX/XX/2021 to XXXX, on XXXX it does not have a date. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX which is the phone number on the collection on XXXX and XXXX and they asked me for my social security number, however the last name they have according to them is XXXX XXXX. I explained to them that this should be fraud because that is not my last name, has never been my last name and I did not recognize that balance or account. I told them that I needed that removed from my credit bureaus ASAP since that did not belong to me but they said I should then contact credit bureaus

Issue: Communication tactics
Subissue: Frequent or repeated calls
Consumer Complaint: Good morning, We keep getting calls from a company with the name of Convergent XXXX which is a debt collection agency. The residents in our home don't have any old debt. They call daily, 2 and 3 times a day. Sometimes when we say Hello, the caller hangs up. Other times they ask for one of us using a name and when I ask what is this about and how can I help you, they hang up on me. One time I requested they send proof of this debt they claim we have and they hung up. I received a call this morning at around XXXX XXXX and the same thing happened when I asked how can I help them they hung up on me. I checked our credit reports just in case there was something on them that is making this company call us daily and our credit reports are clean and in very good standing. Please help, these calls are annoying. PLEASE DO GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY OF MY INFORMATION. THEY HAVE MY TELEPHONE NUMBER THEY CAN LOOK UP THEIR RECORDS WITH THE TELEPHONE NUMBER. Thank you
