Consumer Complaint: I received an alert of an account on my consumer report and notice a collection from Convergent Outsourcing dated XXXX.According to my report, the account was opened XX/XX/2021 and i've never been notified of this. So I sent out a validation letter along with a cease and desist letter XX/XX/2021 certified with a delivery received slipped. A rep from Convergent by the name of XXXX XXXX called me about the account. He asked if i was the person at that address. I never verified my name with him or my social. The address he provided was not my address, never have been. He goes on to say he have the wrong number and hangs up. They sent a letter back with a bill they say i owe which i do not because ive never lived at the dwelling the have associated with the account and that's not my name.

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX. I like to file a complaint against this collection agency for trying to collect a fraudulent debt that does not belong to me. This collection debt is listed on my credit report and this company continuously report this debt, even after I have filed a dispute with the credit bureaus about this. I have attached an Identity Theft Report with this complaint. I have never had or applied for service with XXXX with whom is listed by the collection company upon my credit report. I want this fraudulent collection removed from my credit report immediately. I am a litigious consumer. Under Federal Statue and specific remedies include : The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 U.S.C. 1692e ( 8 ), and 1692f ( 1 ) imposing liability on third party debt collectors and debt buyers for reporting false credit information and collecting amounts not agreed to by the consumer.

Consumer Complaint: In early XXXX I called XXXX because I wanted to close my account and unlock my and my husband 's phones so they could be used with our new carrier. I spoke to several agents online, and they informed me that there was a {$480.00} balance that had to be paid first before they unlocked our phones. I paid the balance right then, as I was talking to them in an online chat, and they confirmed my account was now {$0.00} and that it would take 24 hours to unlock our phones and they would be unlocked and ready to use with a new SIM card the next day. I SPECIFICALLY verified with them that both my and my husband 's phones would be unlocked and ready to go, and someone claiming to be a supervisor confirmed. The next day, neither phone was unlocked, so I engaged with them again. This time they SPECIFICALLY confirmed that my account balance was {$0.00} and that my account was canceled. This was in chat, so they should have a transcript. They apologized profusely, and since I needed my phone for work, they this time successfully unlocked it. The problem was that they did not unlock my husband 's phone, even though I specifically asked whether the account was closed for both phones and so I had to engage with them again. But during that conversation, they once again confirmed that I paid everything that needed to be paid. In none of those conversations was anything mentioned about an extra balance, or even the possibility of us owing any more money. They SPECIFICALLY confirmed in conversation 2 of 3 that my balance was {$0.00}. Then they began sending emails demanding {$360.00}. I called to find out what was going on and why they were claiming I had a balance even though they confirmed there was no balance, the account was closed, and that no more money was owed without informing me of any kind of possibility of extra charges. The person I spoke with said they would raise the issue with their supervisor. I thought that was the last I would hear from them. But they continued sending emails and then they got a collection agency involved, which is now impacting my stellar credit score. I contacted Convergent, which is apparently the collection company XXXX is using . They asked for my side of the story, then within days said, " Nope, you lose. Pay XXXX. '' I have had zero insight into what kind of information they used to determine that I owe XXXX anything further, and there has been zero transparency into the process.

Consumer Complaint: I was in the United States XXXX and I was stationed in XXXX, XXXX from XXXX to XXXX. When I was given XXXX orders ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ), I brought a copy of my orders to XXXX and paid my last phone bill before closing my account ( around XX/XX/XXXX ). I got to my new unit in late XX/XX/XXXX, in XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I checked my credit report and saw a collection agency had a debt listed for the XXXX bill. I called the agency and paid it again, just incase maybe there was anything else due that I missed. The agency wrote me an email as proof that I paid so I wouldn't have to deal with the collection ever again. Since then, XXXX has been spamming my credit report with collection agencies to get an additional {$220.00} from me, in XX/XX/XXXX, and also now ( XX/XX/XXXX ). I refuse to pay a debt I don't owe. I don't exactly know what to do but I am beyond angry with them for continually trying to use my credit report like a hostage to get money from me, especially since I always pay my bills on time, in full ( and, for example with my car, I pay way more than the minimum due ; I'm 3 months ahead on my car loan. )
