Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account status incorrect

Consumer Complaint: Federal Loan Servicing reported I had 11 late payments, and all were 120 days past due in XX/XX/XXXX. However, if you look at my payment history, it reported on-time payments in XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX of XXXX. I didn't have late payments because my account was in forbearance. I've disputed it with Federal Loan Servicing and XXXX, and XXXX. I asked for one-time late payment forgiveness, explained the loans were in forbearance, therefore they could not have been more than 120 days. Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I paid off the full principal on my AES loan as it appeared in the online portal : Payment Amount : {$5000.00} Payment Date : XX/XX/XXXX Since this time, I have continued to receive email bills from AES for {$0.00} each month. When I searched the AES website for why this was happening, there was no option to payoff or finish the loan. The loan did not show a balance in the online portal. In XXXX of XXXX, five years later, AES charged me {$95.00}. I would NOT have left the loan with a {$95.00} balance if I knew that amount was still owed. I did not receive any mail notices for the bill. I received an email but it looked the same as all of the {$0.00} bills I've received for 5 years, which my email account filed to spam. I didnt know about this bill until I checked my credit score for a loan application on XX/XX/XXXX, six months later. When I logged into the AES portal, the payment history confirmed what I remembered : that I paid the full principal as it appeared in the portal. Unfortunately I do not have screenshots of this because AES has since removed my payment history from the online portal ( because I closed the loan ). On XX/XX/XXXX I paid this bill in order to stop the bill from damaging my credit more than it already has, even though I'm still unclear as to why this remaining balance wasn't visible in the online portal.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Subissue: Difficulty submitting a dispute or getting information about a dispute over the phone

Consumer Complaint: I am a current student of XXXX XXXX with XXXX classes left to XXXX. Back in XXXX I had taken some time off and put my loans on Forbareance or in deferment with a Fed loan. doing this over the phone I had thought that my Forbareance would not expire until Q1 of XXXX. There was a communication mistake made on either side. In XXXX and XXXX of XXXX, Fedloan had reported over 10 instances of late payments of over 90 days. I contacted them and spoke with them but there was nothing that they are willing todo. this has hurt my credit score by 120 points and is now stopping me from purchasing a property. logically speaking, even if I was paying for the 90 days, I would not have paid for all of the credits reported which is over XXXX worth of credit, when speaking with them they said they report it once, and because I have multiple loans the negative reports would multiply for example 10 times because I have 10 instances of loan for the classes I took ... So, for a single 90-day late payment, I got reported delinquency for over 10 loan accounts and is now sitting permanently on my credit score. this is not a fair act at all, jeopardizing my living by over-reporting and not fixing the delinquent reports. I am NOT delinquent, and I am still in school, XXXX and XXXX show delinquency of over 90 days for over 10 times of reports for a single loan. not logical or correct. the Fed loan is not willing to work with me at all. Fed Loan says that they had communicated the delinquency information over an email, however checking the email I see nothing! perhaps they went to SPAM? they are not taking students ' matters seriously and are acting as if it does not matter to anyone. I am willing to Sue this company to report my information correctly as they are not and are hurting me for mis information.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Don't agree with the fees charged

Consumer Complaint: Two XXXX loans originated in XXXX. Entered bankruptcy in XXXX. Ch XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX followed by Ch XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX loans paid in full according to Bankruptcy Trustee in XXXX, XXXX. No communication from servicer AES for 5 years. In XX/XX/XXXX received letter from collection company XXXX. Contacted XXXX who explained XXXX loan transferred back to AES. Could not explain why no communication. Advised I needed attorney to address. I informed them would not be spending money on attorney when bankruptcy court sent servicer regular payments, ledgers. XXXX advised loan transferred back to servicer. What is XXXX ' role? To pad accounts w interest, fees, charges etc? Contacted AES which stated have two loans remaining with balances due. Loan 1 has balance of XXXX while Loan 2 has balance of XXXX. No statements provided. Documentation received upon my request to AES stops at XXXX. No statements provided after XXXX showing payments made, fees, charges etc. While I can easily pay both amounts, the point is these accounts have already been satisfied through bankruptcy court payments. Why is AES now trying to collect on phantom charges? Im receiving letters from AES on an almost weekly basis. Letters now stating payment will be late as of XX/XX/XXXX. Ive worked hard to recover from bankruptcy, hope AES wont destroy my credit with their " error ''. XXXX XXXX legacy tom foolery at work? I trust your agency can assist. Thank you.

Issue: Written notification about debt

Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt

Consumer Complaint: AESXXXX student loan is reporting I open as XXXX they are reporting this information to XXXX XXXX, and XXXX. I disputed with all three credit bureaus in writing ( three times ) My demand is to remove the debt off my credit reports it has been on my report for the last 10 years. I have called AESXXXX as recent as XXXX asking why is it still reporting. They explained it was not still reporting. They informed the credit bureau on XXXX that the information was paid in full and to be removed after seven years. I have expressed my concerns to all three credit bureaus about their reporting is a direct violation of the Fair Credit Consumer Protection law. All debt by law should be removed within Seven Years. They refused to remove the debt their explanation is that it is correct information under the Consumer Fair Reporting Act. This is my last attempt before taking all three credit bureaus to court. I would like for you to reach out and advise AESXXXX is a violation of Federal law. I am also going to sue for damages with lost of job opportunities. I have sent at least six letter with proof of the information being 10 years old.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Received bad information about your loan

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I submitted a complaint ( FSA Feedback Case : XXXX ) to understand better the status of my application for TEPSLF. I was told there was nothing to be done to address the following concerns, but to wait. Here was my original concern : I started the TEPSLF process on XX/XX/XXXX, sending in my request to XXXX, as directed ( email attached ). I received confirmation of my request via email on XX/XX/XXXX ( email attached ) .I received my PSLF 'denial, ' as expected, on XX/XX/XXXX. All was going according to plan! Six weeks later, on XX/XX/XXXX, I called XXXX for an update on my application, and I was told that I did not have an active TEPSLF application on file, that I was 'denied. ' I did not receive any written notice of this denial. The Representative told me that this denial was due to the fact that I submitted my TEPSLF request prior to having a PSLF denial on file, which was a mistake. He said I did everything right and that he could not explain why this happened and apologized for the error. I asked to speak with a Supervisor. When I asked the Supervisor if my TEPSLF application could be re-activated or back-dated, to keep my place in line, I was told that was not possible. I was instructed to start the process over by emailing TEPSLF again. I emailed immediately on XX/XX/XXXX ( email attached ). I did not receive a confirmation email from XXXX as I had after my initial email in XXXX, so I called XXXX to confirm my 2nd request had been successfully received. My 2nd application was on file. I received notification on XX/XX/XXXX ( email attached ) that I had met the employer requirements and 120 qualifying payments ( as I expected ) and FSA would complete a final review for forgiveness. I have called XXXX every 2 weeks since then to check the status. I am often told conflicting information - it can take 30-90 days or it can take 180 days. One person even told me no applications will be forgiven until the CARES Act expires ( which can't be true ). The TEPSLF Program is first-come/first-served with limited funds. Starting the process over on XX/XX/XXXX meant I lost about 45 days of progress, nearly a month-and-a-half. I am now 3.5 months into waiting for a decision - FSA has had my application since at least XX/XX/XXXX - and I have been told it could be another 2-3 months! I write to kindly request that my application for TEPSLF be moved up in line for consideration ( back-dated to XX/XX/XXXX ) given the erroneous denial and unfortunate 45 day delay.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days

Consumer Complaint: I wrote Fedloan to request that they remove late payments from my credit report on XX/XX/2019 due to inaccurate payment history and that was reported inaccurate. The company responded to me on XX/XX/2019 which is past 30 days stating my credit adjustment was denied. I also sent a goodwill letter to this company on XX/XX/2019, but they didn't seem to care about their customer report and I was denied again. They didn't work with me or try to get things right, nor did they want to fix their error.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Problem with customer service

Consumer Complaint: I will make this short in hopes that someone will actually read it. This concerns FedLoan Student Loan Servicing for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. I am qualified government employee who has made more than 120 qualifying payments. This has been an absolute nightmare for 14 years and that nightmare continues. Every chance that FedLoan has had to make things difficult or to manipulate the process they have taken advantage of that opportunity. Last year they notified me that I had reached my 120 payments and was qualified for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Considering their track record, I absolutely did not trust them. I spoke with multiple reps who advised me that it was time for me to apply for forgiveness. I was even told not to worry about my past problems and all the news stories about FedLoan, that my account was a perfect example. I applied for forgiveness and continued to call every few weeks to make certain that I had done everything and that the process was moving along. I was told more than once that it was good and they were just waiting to hear back from the Department of Education and that it could take up to 120 days. In a little less than 90 days I received notice that I had been rejected because I had not made 120 qualifying payments. I had in writing from FedLoan before I even applied that I had made 120 qualifying payments. I spoke with customer service who informed me that they had no idea why it was rejected because I had indeed made the payments and they would request a review of the file. I was told that this review would normally take 6 months but could be more considering a backlog. I have no idea if this review will ever actually take place. I am now trapped and under their control. This isnt the first time I have been left out in the cold by FedLoan. I made payments that didnt count because I was paying {$300.00} when I should have been paying {$0.00} on different plan even after asking for advise. I lost payments because I paid extra one month to cover the next month, and they didnt have the appropriate box checked for that to count as a payment. Just today I see an article in Forbes where FedLoan is settling with borrowers in Massachusetts because of these exact practices. I live in Alabama, I am out of luck, but I feel like I am dealing with a loan shark. I am not a freeloader. I have never been without a job since I was XXXX years old. I dont want free college, but I took and kept a public service job based on this program. I was offered this and I fulfilled my end of the bargain and FedLoan is doing everything they can do avoid handling their portion of the deal. They are even admitting that it must be a mistake on their end that they might review this year. FedLoan can be downright sadistic and cruel to people who are trying to do the right thing. It is a shame that America has allowed a company to do this to its citizens. I have done everything that I can think to do outside of hiring a team of attorneys that would cost more than the student loans themselves. Any advice or assistance that could be provided would be appreciated. I will be glad to provide all of my account information. Thank you for your time and consideration.
