Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: I have not used my Wells Fargo XXXX XXXX card since XX/XX/XXXX ( 3+ years ). Two large charges were made on those days with the card. 1 ) {$4100.00} and 2 ) {$4400.00} both invoiced for " XXXX XXXX ''. These amounts maxed out the credit of the card. I did not receive a notification or a hold on the two purchases made on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. I found out about the charges on XX/XX/XXXX from the XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX Wells Fargo never notified me that the transactions were cleared on XX/XX/XXXX. I called the number on the back of the card ( XXXX XXXX ) to report the fraud on XX/XX/XXXX. I called again ( XXXX ) on XX/XX/XXXX to provide further information. I found out that they later denied my claim after calling on XX/XX/XXXX and asked to have it reopened. I was told I had to provide documents proving that I was not in Washington state during the time of the fraudulent transactions. I went over to a local branch in XXXX to have them fax all of the documents and escalate the case to be an executive complaint. I also emailed the same documents to XXXX I filed a police report with my local precinct on XX/XX/XXXX. Wells Fargo has been very unhelpful and have not sent any information on the transactions or why the claims have been denied. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was informed that my case was denied again. I called again to have the dispute opened. I have never visited Washington state and no other information for the location or items purchased was given to me. Wells Fargo has yet to provide any evidence that I made these purchases or authorized them to take place.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Wells Fargo after receiving a message on my online banking platform indicating the impending closure of my credit card. Seeking clarification on this sudden development, I reached out to Wells Fargo to obtain further details. To my surprise, I was informed that the closure was due to a business decision related to fraudulent activities. Oddly enough, just two weeks prior to this incident, Wells Fargo had informed me in person at their teller line that my checking accounts were also being closed. Upon contacting Wells Fargo about the closure, I was once again informed that it was a business decision made by the bank. The reason behind this decision, it seemed, stemmed from a fraud case my mother had experienced in 2021, which directly impacted her Wells Fargo accounts. She had taken the necessary steps, including filing a police report and gathering evidence, to address the fraud that was being perpetrated on her accounts. Unfortunately, the perpetrator had managed to withdraw funds from her bank account. Around two months ago, I had added my mother as a joint account holder on one of my checking accounts. Due to the extensive fraudulent activity associated with my mother 's accounts, Wells Fargo decided to close her checking accounts as well. In an unexpected turn of events, their decision to end their business relationship with my mother also affected me, despite the fact that none of my accounts had ever been involved in any fraudulent activities. The situation has left me perplexed and concerned, as it seems my account closure was a consequence of Wells Fargo 's broad response to my mother 's unfortunate encounter with fraud. I am currently seeking further clarification from Wells Fargo in order to fully understand the reasons behind their actions and to address any potential misunderstandings or miscommunications that may have occurred.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/ my card was charged for {$170.00} three times at two different New Jersey convenient stores called XXXX ( a large chain store and gas station in NJ and Philadelphia ) for a total of {$520.00}. I have filed a fraud report, transactions were credited back, and new card issued. I told them I do go to XXXX for food and gas, but only the 2-3 within a few miles of my house. On XX/XX/, I noticed all three charges were placed on my account again. I called the fraud dept, and they claimed that the reasoning was because I have done business there and was consistent with my charges. I explained my Wells Fargo card shows business done at XXXX but only the same ones near my house. Never at any XXXX in XXXX XXXX. I was also not even in New Jersey that weekend at all. I also have never spent anywhere close XXXX or even XXXX dollars at XXXX So it is not consistent at all. It does not sound like they investigated anything. I have a perfect track record with them. There was no proof these charges were me. I have the card in my possession, I didnt give it to anyone. Possibly was skimmed. They stated they would reopen the claim but throughout the process never provided or asked for any documents or proof of where I was, etc even though I stated I was willing to give it to them. They would not give me the credit back and stated charges would remain as they opened the case again. I dont believe they are investigating it. They told me a XXXX spent at two XXXX in one day, over an hour away from my house was consistent with my XXXX bucks I spend at XXXX every other week somehow. They told me to send proof I have to print items, then fax it, or go to a branch to fax it. It sounds like it is more work for me.

Consumer Complaint: Wells Fargo Bank ( Wells ) who refuses to provide me with a bill of sell, wire transfer receipt or cancel check for the allege XXXX XXXX purchase of my Dept of VA loan which XXXX XXXX is prohibited by US Congress from buying or selling a mortgage loan! Wells creates a situation were it kept me from filing bankruptcy as it refused to tell me who it was they were collecting the mortgage loan debt there were mortgage servicing but never forwarded a monthly payment to XXXX who is not a lender and can not accept payments as a lender because they are not a lender. Wells sent my loan file to an outside legal firm in XXXX XXXX XXXX who could claim they did not have the full loan file, and after my lender in XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) had stopped existing on XX/XX/XXXX, was not owned monies because they stopped existing! Wells who no longer were working for XXXX as a servicer but working as custodian of records for XXXX who as with every XXXX pooled loan has the UCC3 blank endorsed Note relinquished to them does own the blank Note but does not have the legal ability to call the loan due as they have not purchased the debt. XXXX & XXXX, Wells and XXXX joined forces to create the Notice of Default and Assignment of Deed of Trust which made it look as if Wells as the owner of my loan, which made me think that Wells had purchased my loan from XXXX as kept me in place trying to negotiate the loss mitigation options required under the VA loan program which includes the protection under TARP that the bankruptcy court would enforce but also where proof of a debt needed to be provide by Wells or XXXX which was impossible as neither had purchased my VA loan. Wells up until a few days before the XX/XX/XXXX, foreclosure ( the same day that the Ryder v Wells claimed was the first illegal foreclosure ) had claimed to be the owner of my debt, but after I kept asking for the VA HAMP modification I had requested, which required first the underwriting of the HAMP. I did not know at the time that Wells had stopped processing all Dept of VA loans for the HAMP in violation of the TARP as our information was not uploaded into the underwriting system which cause a denial of the program because it was not processed. Wells refused to process the VA HAMP program from its effective date until XX/XX/XXXX, which under XX/XX/XXXX, VA Circular XXXX required both the HAMP & VA HAMP " must '' be underwritten before a foreclosure could be considered by the bank/servicer. Wells who at the last minute pop up as said that some random investor owned my loan and was making the decision as to whether a HAMPs modification would be process. Wells admitting to having documents from me as a result of my HAMP application that they received on XX/XX/XXXX, and was not process even as the change of documentation being considered valid on XX/XX/XXXX, to 90 days, but the loan was not process for the HAMP within 30 days anyway. So to keep me hanging not knowing the correct ownership, as there was not an actual owner of the debt. Wells who knew they were not the owner of the debt and could not prove to the bankruptcy court that they owned the debt and that a modification would be always there to challenge the debt as it would modify something that did not exist to be modified. Wells who kept over XXXX victims from obtaining a HAMP or FHA HAMP were legal fees were calculated and wrongly denying the modification, just as Wells sent my loan to XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, yet Wells did not own the debt nor did XXXX XXXX who after 1 year on XX/XX/XXXX, Wells provided the name XXXX as this investor owner of my mortgage loan, when it is a fact that XXXX can not own a mortgage loan! Wells needed to stop me from filing bankruptcy because just as now in XXXX, they can not provide proof of purchasing my debt from XXXX! What a bankruptcy court does is enforce the rights of the debtor and debtee, which as XXXX already admitted to not owning the debt, had not rights in a bankruptcy court again me. Two things Wells did not want and that was me taking my case to a bankruptcy court and having a modification to a non-existing debt! Wells by selling my property to the Dept of VA has created a crime that does not have a statute of limitations as illegal funds from the VA were used to conduct the crime and needs to be returned. The VA should have investigated this matter after Wells was forced to pay me when found to not have granted me one of the HAMPs modification under the Independent Foreclosure Review Board! Wells self-admitted to the lesser victims total as the VA does not work for the military veteran families, but that going to change just as with the PACT Act!
