Consumer Complaint: I was scammed {$11000.00} from XXXX to XXXX from a scammer identified as a woman named XXXX XXXX. It was a pig butchering scam. The scammer convinced me to invest in a platform called XXXX. After thinking I was making profits, I realized it was a scam. I was denied a refund from Wells Fargo. I recently filed a few claims and they won't refund me the transactions of the scam. There were three. One was for {$100.00}, one for {$1000.00} and one for {$8000.00}. That's {$9100.00}. Another transaction was through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$2000.00}. I filed a claim dispute with them, showed proof that I was scammed and they decided to reimburse me my money. I'm confused on why XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX refunded me the money but Wells Fargo didn't. If I don't get my money back from Wells Fargo, I will transfer my funds to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I've been a loyal customer at Wells Fargo since 2010, and believe I deserve a refund. Please help me get my {$9100.00} back. If not I'll take my funds to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and not do any business with Wells Fargo anymore.

Consumer Complaint: Dear CFPB, I am submitting this complaint about the actions taken by, and conduct of, Wells Fargo Bank in closing my checking accounts -- personal and business -- and my two daughters checking accounts, linked to mine as secondary accounts, on XXXX XXXX XXXX, with no advance notice or warning whatsoever. It should be mentioned in this context that I was a customer of Wells Fargo Bank for 33 years, with an absolutely spotless record as a reliable and responsible customer. The following is the background of my complaint : I am the executive producer of a small-budget film. I am managing and overseeing the financing, the budget, of the film. On XX/XX/, a wire transfer of {$20000.00} was sent to my personal Wells Fargo account by a charitable organization called XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX ( an entity which is helping to finance the film ), from their XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX ) account. Within 24 hours of receiving this money, I wired it to an attorney who is tasked with putting together the various contracts and agreements pertaining to the film. The {$20000.00} is his retainer for services rendered. The following is the chronology of events following my wiring of the {$20000.00} to the aforementioned attorney : On XXXX XXXX XXXX, an e-mail was sent to me by Wells Fargo advising me that my account, and my two daughters linked accounts, would be closed by XX/XX/, and a cashiers check mailed to me and my daughters for the money due us. In the interim, we are forbidden from making any withdrawals or payments from the accounts. I immediately called Wells Fargo and was informed that the wire of {$20000.00} that was deposited in my account on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX in Texas was fraudulent. At no time did XXXX XXXX ask for the money to be returned to them, and at this time XXXX XXXX still doesnt want the money back -- because nothing about the wire was fraudulent, or in any other way illegitimate. To distressingly complicate matters even further, my daughter XXXX XXXX spoke on the phone to an exceedingly rude and callous Wells Fargo employee , who advised her that not only is this particular account closed, but that she is no longer welcome to ever have an account of any sort with Wells Fargo XXXX As well, Wells Fargo rubbed yet more salt in my wounds by apprising me during my XX/XX/XXXX call with them that my wired rent payment to my landlord of the previous day hadnt gone through despite my having pleaded with Wells Fargo to let the payment go through so that I wouldnt be late and pay penalties. I then had to obtain a loan from a friend in order to pay my rent, only to find out a few days later that the initial wire had, in fact, gone through, resulting in my rent being paid TWICE. This caused me enormous stress as, due to the misinformation given me by Wells Fargo, I had to take that day off work to seek out another source of money to get to my landlord. Bizarrely enough, and to add insult to injury, by contrast Wells Fargo informed me that my daughter XXXX XXXX check to her landlord would, in fact, be honored but it wasnt, and she had scramble to obtain the rent money, resulting in a delay which caused her to pay late fees. On XX/XX/, Wells Fargo sent me another e-mail, this time informing me that the closure of my and my daughters accounts would be delayed, that they were now expected to close by XX/XX/. Of course, this means that the issuing of the cashiers check for the money owed me and my daughters would also be similarly delayed. Finally, on XX/XX/, I received yet one more e-mail from Wells Fargo, this one informing me that the delay would be extended up to XX/XX/2023. This unconscionable, absurd, protracted delay in the return of my money and that of my daughters has caused me to pay large credit card interest charges as I am not able to pay the statement balance in full, which is what I have always done. My daughter, XXXX XXXX , is experiencing the same traumatic difficulty.

Consumer Complaint: Hi I am reporting on Wells Fargos shady chargeback business practices. I am a landlord with a business that collects rent via XXXX and XXXX. One of my tenants asked their bank ( Wells Fargo ) to chargeback the funds they sent to me for their rent payments falsely claiming they did not know this transaction ( chargeback fraud ). Now both XXXX and XXXX are trying to collect these funds from me. I reached out to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX and all three said it was because a chargeback initiated by Wells Fargo through my tenant and that I need to contact Wells Fargo. I have email evidence of their responses. The issue I have is that Wells Fargo did not do any investigation before issuing these chargebacks against me as they are obligated as a bank. To make matters worse, every time I call Wells Fargos chargeback group they refuse to talk to me because I dont have an account with them and they are not willing to look into the reason or provide any reason as to why they sided with my tenant ( the Wells Fargo customer ). I am looking to sue Wells Fargo as they did not provide any investigation into the chargebacks they made nor are willing to cooperate in returning these rightfully owed rent payments to me even after this is marked as clear chargeback fraud.

Consumer Complaint: I have calledWells Fargo multiple times and lodged disputes in writing, via XXXX 's upload service, and via the credit bureaus ' online dispute portal. Companies and bureaus have a duty to keep customer information accurate and up-to-date, and the FCRA mandates that credit bureaus make every effort to ensure that information in consumer reports is as accurate as possible. Thus far, Wells Fargo and the relevant authorities ' responses have fallen shortof these requirements. I have not been given any information about the ( representative ) you contacted, including their names, email addresses, or phone numbers. You haven't offered any proof that the late payment you mentioned actually occurred. The incorrect late payment remains on my account even after XXXX days have passed. The Bureau 's nor Wells Fargohave n't kept my file correct, current, and complete. Both Wells Fargo and the Creditcompanieshaveslandered me. That Wells Fargo decietfullyconverted my personal loan account ( # XXXX ) into a car loan without my written consent and is currently reporting I was late on my XXXX paymentthat I have never been 30, 60, or 80 days late on a payment is the purpose of this complaint.Theattachments attached hereto. First, I've attached Wells Fargo 's cashier 's check and the transaction receipt showing the teller placed the moneyinto my XXXX account. The banker XXXX told meXXXX XXXX XXXX, whose XXXX card is on the receipt, would transfer the monies into abusiness account she would open for me. She wasn't present when I signed the loan forms in Wells Fargo XXXX The secondbundle of papers includes XXXX Loan Agreement. This loan wasprocessedXX/XX/XXXX. The loan officer said my monthly payment would bedue on the XXXXXXXX of each month. How the third of the month hadbecome the new normal, I have no idea. But I left Wells Fargo for XXXX XXXX XXXX and transferred all my accounts there. Wells Fargo turned my Personal Loan into an Auto Loan and Imoved my monthly payment due dateto the XXXX instead of the XXXX of each month. New account number : XXXX was record as a XXXX loan. I decided to transferbanks since Wells Fargo did not keep its word by opening my XXXX account as agreedand by changing various terms of the Personal Contract Agreement. Mypayments wereautomatically debited from my account every month per the Personal Loan contract, so I never waslate. However, Wells Fargo quickly charged me late penalties and extra interest due to the way they begancoding of my payments in their bank'ssystems. Payments were late after the XXXX day of each month instead of the XXXX day of the month agreement, nor was the grace period given untilthe XXXX day of the month when a late fee should access. The revised due date is crucial for my account payments because my payment is never 30 days late, even if it arrivesthe XXXX of the following month. When I made thepayment on XX/XX/XXXX, it was not 30, 60, or 80 days late. XX/XX/XXXX wasnot the pay date. There was no need to hold the payment no late fees or interest were due. And I shouldn't have had to pay anyinterest and late penalties, either. Wells Fargo 's system unintentionally overdrew my XXXX account for two months on XXXXinstead of one payment ; thereforetherefore, they reversed the extra money as a missed payment. The pay history shows how the computer began accessinglate fees and interest from that point until the close of my account. Wells Fargo let the feescontinue to acureinstead of correcting it promptly. My paymenthistory shows I've never been late with a monthly payment. Thus, at the same time, I was having trouble with Wells Fargo correcting and apply my monthly payments to my accountcorrectlyXX/XX/XXXX & XXXX alerted me that an unknown vendor was making monthly unauthorized withdrawals from my account. After the Bankresearchedthe vendor, they informed me that Wells Fargo had made the withdrawals. Wells Fargo claims that a retailer who does business with their bank anelectronic signature authorized those withdrawals. evident shows the merchant made many withdrawals under different aliases to mask their genuine identity. I suspect the story of an electronic signature to be false. As a result, I was unable to get all of my stolen money back. I've attached the transactionsdocumentation. XXXX XXXX XXXX and Wells Fargo mishandled my personal and business accounts for a long time. Suddenly one day XXXX & XXXX without any prior warningquickly closed allmy accounts. Gave me the account numbers and suggestedI file fraud report withthe police. Despite never being late, Wells Fargo claims I have a late payment history. In response, they purposely reported my payments as 30-80 days late to the credit reporting firms whose reports are in the papers I've submitted. Finally, Wells Fargo admitted to deceiving me, overcharging me in interest, and reversing the late fees in four separateletters, and made a promise over the telephone my late payment would be corrected when I called in response to the check they said I never cash as a refund of the overcharged interest. I receivedone letter inXXXX and three lettersin XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Hi CFPB! I extended my credit to Wells Fargo on XX/XX/2021. I requested a line of credit for my small business The XXXX, XXXX in an effort to help me get through XXXX. I was denied the extension of my credit for which I've learned is a violation of the EQUAL CREDIT OPPORTUNITY ACT. I know that I exercised my right to credit in good faith to the bank but I was made to feel discouraged because, according to the banks agent, my credit score was only XXXX. I now know that the XXXX score has nothing to do with my right to access my credit. I was discriminated against by this bank and I have read how WELLS FARGO has had to pay BILLIONS of dollars in fines for the mistreatment of millions of consumers including me.
