Consumer Complaint: I have a PayPal account that I have used for a while. I have actually you use PayPal for over five years though the account im talking about was a new one. I had a guy I was dating who will send me money 2 times a week, even 3 times a week sometimes. Well when I didnt want to take our relationship to the next level we split up and he contacted the credit card company and said that I am money he sent me was unauthorized. Further more, He says he was supposed to get goods from me that he never got, which is why he requested his money back. But there were never any goods involved, none whatsoever, EVER! We dated for about six months, maybe a little longer and he sent me money throughout the entire Relationship. Not to mention he reported this months after the transactions took place. I have another account where he sent me money more to as well over the months we were together. So how would only five transactions out of 30 be an issue but the rest not be? So dont understand how he is getting away with this. They sided with him without even talking to me. So dont understand how he is getting away with this and they sided with him without even contacting me about it directly. I just got an email saying there were an open cases and then emails saying The cases were closed. This is awful that someone can fraudulently report something like this and its not even get looked into. My account is almost {$1000.00} in the negative now and I dont know what else to do. I just know that is not right and should be **illegal** in the least. Its just disappointing how they can take advantage of the credit card companies like that. Not to mention how bad it is messed my account up. These are the transactions on my PayPal account that he claimed were unauthorized. I explained this in emails but never received anything back. Then finally receive something back today and they said that his credit card company opened the case on me and that there was nothing they can do to override them but when I talk to them they said that PayPal would act as my lawyer and handle it. So this is all messed up needless to say. I dont even know who his credit card company is so how would I even go about handling it with them? Consumer Complaint: I tried to place an order on a website using PayPal and had set up automatic payment before this. When I tried to submit the payment with PayPal, my preferred method of payment ( credit card ) was declined. As a result PayPal automatically charged the payment to my bank 's checking account without my consent. I did not select anything that would indicate to PayPal that I'd like to charge this amount to my bank account. I did not click anything that would set my checking account as the payment method for this transaction or as the preferred method to pay. As a result I was charged the PayPal currency conversion fee that is higher than what my credit card company would charge. PayPal made money by charging this payment to my checking account instead of my credit card. I had other credit cards on my PayPal account. PayPal did not attempt to charge them but directly to my checking 's account after my preferred payment method ( credit card ) was declined. I contacted PayPal about this and they refused to fix it.

I found that I had been charged {$2300.00} for purchases made via Paypal ( see attachment ) from individuals in California. I live in Illinois. I tried to contact Paypal, on several occasions, but I can not get in contact with a human being. I have left a message that I hope that will respond to.

Consumer Complaint: A series of unauthorized charges were made using my PayPal account. The charges are as followings : {$410.00} to XXXX on XXXX XXXX, 2020 {$350.00} to XXXX on XXXX XXXX, 2020 {$370.00} to XXXX on XXXX XXXX, 2020 I contacted XXXX on XX/XX/2020 to dispute these charges and file a complaint about unauthorized purchases. These complaints were denied and I appealed. During these conversations I learned that there was suspicious login activity on my PayPal account on XXXX XXXX and/or XXXX XXXX, 2020 and this was likely the cause for these unauthorized purchases. I also contacted by bank ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and credit card company ( XXXX ) as both of these accounts were connected to my PayPal account to notify them about the fraud. I was able to close the account with XXXX that was connected to PayPal so these fraudulent purchases would not go through. I was told by PayPal representatives that some of the appeals were granted and some were denied. I was given no explanation why some were denied. Instead I was told they would need to work with supervisors to get these denied appeals corrected. Instead, some of these fraudulent purchases are still being denied as fraud by PayPal and the are now trying to collect these as debt. Last week I was contacted by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX trying to collect {$760.00} from PayPal. This amount is related to the fraudulent and unauthorized purchases described above. I plan on notifying the debt collection agency via writing that this debt is based on fraudulent activity.

Consumer Complaint: Paypal has permanently limited my business account without reason and is holding my funds from a sale that I made of {$530.00}. Monday, XX/XX/2020 I made a sale on XXXX for an XXXX XXXX XXXX '' XXXX generation XXXX GB. Total sale price was {$700.00}. I refunded the buyer {$150.00} after the item was delivered because of issues with the warranty of the item. Customer was happy and positive feedback was left on both ends. Paypal placed my remaining funds on hold ( temporary limitation ) and asked me to submit proof of Identification, proof of original receipt of the item & proof that the order had been fulfilled ( tracking confirmation ). I submitted proof of everything yet Paypal still held my funds. I contacted them asking for the funds to be released since I submitted all required documentation and my customer is happy, yet they still kept the hold on the funds. XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted PayPal again because I was told to wait 3 days after the delivery confirmation and my funds would be released, yet they were still on hold. So I contacted them again via the message center but I was informed by the representative that my account had been permanently limited and she couldn't give me a reason. I had done nothing wrong. I didn't violate any terms of use nor did I violate PayPal 's Acceptable Use policy. I simply sold an item of high value. My customer was happy with his item, left positive feedback & was even happy that we agreed on a partial refund. Why is my {$530.00} still being held for 180 days and why was my account permanently limited? Account ID : XXXX Furthermore in PayPals last response they stated the reason for holding the funds was so there would be sufficient funds in the event of a chargeback or refund. I HAVE ALREADY WON TWO, not one but TWO OPENED CASES FROM THIS ONE BUYER. The last case I won was because the buyer claimed unauthorized transaction, but the transaction was indeed authorized so I beat that case as well. Because of this there is NO OTHER REASON FOR PAYPAL TO CONTINUE HOLDING MY FUNDS.

Consumer Complaint: I carried out a financial transaction for transferring money from my bank account to my wife 's bank account in XXXX through PayPal. However the discounted amount of my account was not the amount credited to my wife in XXXX, much less than the amount expected. At the same time that the transfer was made I realized that there was an operation error and a complaint was opened by me who transferred and by my wife who received it, but PayPal did not take into account the request to block the operation and did not give due service and also did not give the proper ways to resolve the case. I ask for help to reverse this financial transaction because it was not treated correctly and with abusive fees by PayPal, which was ordered not to do the operation and even so it did. thank you very much, I hope for a brief return as this case is of financial URGENCY. date of transaction XXXX ID case claim - XXXX- XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ID case claim - XXXX ( USA )

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020, I sent a friend in XXXX {$250.00} via PayPal. My friend in XXXX said the money was put on hold for a month. The PayPal company in the US did not mention any holds would be put on the money and said the money would be available to the person on the other end in a short amount of time. My friend emailed me earlier this week and said PayPal in XXXX put another month hold on the money. I have been messaging PayPal in the US but they don't seem to care what PayPals in other countries do in their name. They just told me to have my friend in XXXX get in touch with the PayPal over there. As far as I'm concerned it is unethical to hang on to money I've sent to someover for an arbitrary amount of time. The PayPal in the US took no responsibility. If rules for PayPal in other countries are different, then it should be posted on their website. At the moment my friend in XXXX asked for the money to be refunded. It is pending. I'm not totally hopeful it will be returned or returned in a timely fashion.. I sent the money because my friend and his family are poor and under lockdown. I had a little to spare and thought I was doing a good thing. If I get it back I will try XXXX XXXX and hope they are more ethical. I just want PayPal to take more responsibility. It is a service they offered on their website with no caveats or warnings. They did not even take any responsibility after getting in touch with them or give me any reasons for the problem.

Consumer Complaint: Hi my problem is about PayPal and their misleading ways. I started my online business about 7 months ago and everything was going smoothly. I decided to integrate PayPal to my website as my online processor because I felt PayPal could protect both me and the customers from any fraudulent activities. So After processing over {$1200.00} through PayPal, Paypal decided to permanently limit my account and hold all of my funds for 180 Days with no reason stated. My account has never had a charge back or dispute from customers but PayPal just decided to permanently limit my account and hold all of my hard earned money. I called PayPal to try and solve the issue. I asked them for the reason why they limited my account but they haven't provided an answer to the question. They've refused to get back to me. I even requested for a re-appeal but I was denied. They were so rude! They kept me on hold, they didn't answer my questions and they even hung up. I'm yet to know the reason why my account got limited. I'm so disappointed in PayPal for this unethical and misleading ways of theirs. Before my account got banned, I was asked to provide some information like customers tracking numbers, receipt of purchase from my suppliers. And I provided everything immediately but I was still limited. I even uploaded all tracking numbers!. This is so wrong and disappointing. Paypal will ruin thousands of businesses with these behaviors. I'll attach proof of my transaction below. I uploaded my invoice of purchase from my supplier. And also, proof that I uploaded all the documents I was asked to do ( as you can see, it was in review )

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 I started to sell on XXXX in doing so I had started a PayPal account to receive my funds. PayPal ended up putting all funds on hold until I submitted some information and my ID so I gave them all documents required and they still had my funds on hold after all documents had been reviewed and satisfied. After endless conversations with customer service and them telling me it would be released within 24-72 hours when that did not happen I talk to customer service and they told me because of a old unresolved account my funds are on hold until it is resolved. I then call the number they gave me and it was PayPal collections and the man on the phone told me over a year ago on a previous account funds that had been sent to me had been charged back due to the sender claiming he never sent the funds which is a total lie. I did XXXX XXXX and he would send my pay through PayPal so I said how come I was not notified and he said they sent a email I regards to it well I obviously never got this email I said why did you not send a letter or call me. He had no answer and now are holding {$1600.00} of mine in my PayPal buiesness account and will not release my funds until I pay {$1100.00} on something I have no knowledge on and do not owe PayPal any money. I will end up suing them if I do not receive my funds this is and was my only source of income I need you to please help me get what belongs to me please.
