Consumer Complaint: Upon switching insurance companies, I was informed of an accident on my report that I was surprised by. After some thinking, realized it was my Fathers incident. Both of our legal names are XXXX XXXX, though Im not sure of his middle initial or if he HAS one. I am not in contact with him at all whatsoever. Here is a quote from XXXX of the issue in question : Accident with payout {$500.00} or more on XX/XX/XXXX Listed on CLUE All other information on the reports are correct and accurate. Unfortunately for me Ive been paying more than I needed to for YEARS since I never wouldve noticed this. The vehicle involved in that incident was on my insurance at the time but my father was a permitted user on the account ; there should also be police reports of -his- incident in question, since he additionally fled the scene and was later arrested and charged. Also records of him living in that area ( never me ) and likely other documented incidents of police contact in the vicinity of the accident in question. Please let me know if theres anything else I can do to help facilitate repairing this, unfortunately Im not quite sure how I can prove that I wasnt the driver in this case unless you can help me find an incident report that shows his date of birth, which I believe is XX/XX/XXXX ; mine is XX/XX/XXXX, if my DoB comes up on any of those incident reports then this will likely be a larger mess. It may also help to show any inconsistencies between HIS clue report and criminal history ; the court documentation and police reports should tell of an automobile accident and related criminal charges of an event that doesnt show on his clue report, which should maybe help prove that it wasnt my incident. Thank you again and hoping for the best.
