Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Was not notified of investigation status or results
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 LexisNexis received my dispute from the U.S. Post Office with a return receipt with signature confirmation concerning multiple errors pertaining to my LexisNexis C.L.U.E . report. Since XX/XX/2020 I have waited for over two months for their response and nothing has been rectified since my dispute was delivered. It has been over 60 days and LexisNexis had 30 days to respond and the extra 5 business days after completing the investigation to notify me of the results of the disputes. There were no extra disputes mailed after XX/XX/2020 which would of made this dispute stretch to 45 days or more. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a credit reporting agency has to review and respond to every dispute it receives within 30 days. if the credit reporting agency does not respond within 30 days they are obligated to remove the disputed record ( s )

Consumer Complaint: Lexis Nexis has been sued before because of incorrect reporting. My consumer attorney had them investigated ( and sued ) a few years ago for discriminating information gathering ; about minorities on my job. Now after our consumer attorney painstakingly worked to fix problems with the credit agencies about not correcting civil judgment lawsuit information ; I was encouraged to check out three other credit agencies for correct information. I contacted Lexis Nexis, and they sent me a report that contained not only wrong information, but had infused my sisters name and info and my fathers driving record. This is an invasion of privacy. Correct : I did have a traffic citation ( 39 before the 35 mph sign on a road ). I paid the fine early and my license was never suspended. They have : Me XXXX and license suspended. I sent them three records : XXXX XXXX, never ended ; Court record, paying fine ; and DMV record, never suspended. I did this by XX/XX/2020 ; and they have not responded. I am thankful that we have consumer attorneys looking out for us, as I would have thought that after the former lawsuits, Lexis Nexis would be conducting lawful business. I wonder how many jobs were lost because of their carelessness toward citizens. I would appreciate if they would do the right thing and correct wrongs and respond to inquiries when asked without us having to report them. Sincerely

Consumer Complaint: Received from LexisNexis Services Inc. a credit report on XXXX the report was also sent to my home owners company, XXXX XXXX. In the report from LexisNexis was a Reason Code XXXX that my home owners company, XXXX, said was a Negative Indication of Risk. I called LexisNexis Service on XXXX and XXXX concerning the Reason Code XXXX. The people I talked to, talked around the Reason Code XXXX and I was not satisfied with their lack of an explanation. Per LexisNexis Services, the Reason Code XXXX is based on this : 1986 year I opened my credit union credit card account. 81 years, 977 months that my credit union credit card account needed to be open to NOT give me a negative indication of risk. XXXX year when credit union cre dit card account would be open for the 977 months. XXXX year I will be XXXX YEARS OLD. This XXXX months is unacceptable and makes no common sense. My credit union credit card has no history of a late payment or abuse.

Consumer Complaint: LexisNexis is incorrectly reporting a balance due in the amount of {$65000.00} on a tax lien with the XXXX COUNTY COURT File # XXXX and Ref # XXXX. ( Please see page attached from my credit report. ) This judgment has been satisfied and paid in full. I have attached a copy of the Certificate of Release of Federal Tax Lien filed XX/XX/2019. LexisNexis continues to report this tax lien on my credit report. Since this Federal Tax Lien was satisfied, it should not be reporting any longer. The fact that this is still reporting is a clear violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Under the F.C.R.A. I have the right to dispute incomplete and/or inaccurate information on my credit report. LexisNexis has failed to remove this item despite the fact that I have provided them proof, from the Court, that this tax lien has been satisfied. In addition, LexisNexis has been entangled in a class action lawsuit wherein they were selling consumer information to debt collectors to assist them in collecting debts without treating these reports as a consumer report within the meaning of the F.C.R.A. This continues to show a lack of due diligence in removing inaccurate items on a credit report in a timely manner. I have contacted XXXX County Court, as well as LexisNexis, to remove this item however, I have not been successful.

Consumer Complaint: Ive requested that LexisNexis provide me with a copy of my full report and in response to The MN Department of Commerce File # XXXX Complaint and The CFPB Complaints ( all of which have not received satisfactory and or any copies of my report as requested ) # XXXX, XXXX, XXXX. Since initial request XX/XX/2020, LexisNexus mailed a response to obtain via on-line access, IF, I agree to their terms, in order for to be provided/obtain a copy of my LexisNexus Full Report. I have not and do not agree. I request that the CFBP obtain and provide me with a copy of my full LexisNexus report, mailed or faxed without further delay, per the Fair Credit Reporting Act. LexisNexus is NOT a Consumer recognized ( one of the three Major Credit Reporting Agencies ), such as XXXX who if a consumer agrees can request immediate access and be provided with secure, full reports on line granting creditors immediate access with PIN number to review and dispute any items on a full report immediately as an OPTION to the FCRA, requirement of MAILING TO THE CONSUMER. The delays of LexisNexus are unacceptable and damaging, adversely affecting employment, benefits, insurance rates and insurability. In addition, please answer my question about why LexisNexus sends requests to medical providers for people whom they collect data?!?! This is a violation of HIPPA, HRRP, ACA ; LexisNexus and insurers are sidestepping and its a violation for LexisNexus to harvest private medical data or collect it for an insurance claim and then in turn sell private medical information to insurers not privy to the applicable insurance claim, with potential for more adverse affects such as insufficient medical care or life insurance.
