Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing issue
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX LexisNexis added a derogatory mark on my credit report per LexisNexis. Upon further research, on XX/XX/2021 I asked the company LexisNexis in writing to verify the account. After 30 days I than demanded for the Bankrupcty account to be removed from my credit report, due to the fact debtor creditor states theyve verified this Bankrupcty account with the United States Bankrupcty Court. On XX/XX/2021 I contacted the Bankrupcty court to confirm the information I was told by LexisNexis. In writing it was stated the United States Bankrupcty DOES NOT REPORT information to the credit bureaus. I feel as I am not responsible for this account. There was no written form of communication, contract or signature for the accused public record at all. According to the FCRA LexisNexis has violated my rights as a consumer and Im requesting legal action to remove this public record off my credit report. The Company Lexis Nexis claimed that it needs to verify my identity in order to complete the investigation, in which is very false information. On XX/XX/2021 I mailed in a formal written complaint asking for proof of the bankruptcy to be verified. Along with the letter I attached identification such as utility bill, drivers, and proof of car insurance. 30 days after the formal complaint letter I than filed a 30 day demand letter asking for lexis Nexis to remove the inaccurate public record. I also have proof of each letter stating Ive provided the correct documentation following up on the dispute. I decided to file a complaint with the CFPB. In which my problem was still not solved I dont understand how the CFPB Can allow for companies to get away with making money from minorities with bad credit. This is unfair, and my problem was not been solved this company has no proof of the Bankrupcty so This public record needs to be deleted. The courts does not report to credit bureaus

Consumer Complaint: I've been disputing fraud accounts on my credit report since XX/XX/2020. I keep sending multiple sets of letters to the bureaus and the creditors so the excuse of " we didn't get it '' doesn't happen. Furthermore, each letter is certified mail with tracking and each letter shows signed and delivered and yet the bureaus are still not taking any actions. The accounts are not showing in dispute nor are they removed from my report. The accounts always show up with different name variations and different account number variations and yet the bureaus seem to ignore the trend and let these fraud accounts affect my credit score. I have requested the investigation to be initiated and also verifiable proof to be submitted should the account claim to be mine. Not only have I not received any mail showing the verifiable proofs needed to justify the accounts to be on my report, I haven't even received any letters at all stating the investigations have begun. Per the FCRA and federal law, the process is supposed to be 30 days. 375 days later, I'm still here shelling out money for certified mail with no end in sight and no results to show. This is my last option before I take this up with my lawyers and sue for full compensations and damages incurred. Finally, it seems that when these complaints are submitted, the bureaus are using the excuse that they " can't confirm my identity '' to get away with taking no actions on my credit report. Please investigate this as well.

Consumer Complaint: LexisNexis removed a bankruptcy from my credit report with them that was properly handled by means of the FCRA laws. The bankruptcy was deleted on XX/XX/2021. I have the paperwork and have verified the deletion with the LexisNexis customer service ; however, my credit reports have not be updated and it's almost been 60 days, 58 days exactly as of today. They customer center representatives have not been helpful and claimed that they had ; file an additional dispute with another agency which is irrelevant. They claimed that they filed another dispute on XX/XX/2021 and did not properly explain why my credit report was not updated. The bankruptcy is preventing me from getting my student loans, caused me to be denied for several apartments, and period is hurting my credit. I have also provided additional paperwork to LexisNexis that they have not honored. I will included it in the documentation.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I sent a letter to Lexis Nexis requesting information on their process of sharing data when a consumer has a security in place and has opted out of all of its data sharing services. I requested that Lexis Nexis response via XXXX mail delivery within 14 business days. As of XX/XX/XXXX Lexis Nexis has yet to respond to my request. I am in the dispute process with XXXX XXXX, and XXXX about an inaccuracy on my consumer credit report that continues to be validated by Lexis Nexis. This is concerning to me because as stated previously, I have opted out of all data sharing with Lexis Nexis and I have had a security freeze in place since XX/XX/XXXX. It is imperative that Lexis Nexis explain their process of sharing information on a consumer that has opted out of data sharing and has a freeze in place.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX refuses to delete an inaccurate account from my credit report. They have fraudulently verified the account as accurate with LexisNexis. I immediately called LexisNexis and shared this information, and LexisNexis said that was not possible for them to verify this bankruptcy with them because there are no bankruptcies reporting on my file. The date of this incident was XX/XX/2021, first dispute in question. I called XXXX and immediately opened another dispute into this bankruptcy. Ultimately, XXXX emailed me again yesterday XXXX XX/XX/2021 ) saying that this account has been verified by LexisNexis. I am pretty sure that LexisNexis isn't the culprit here, since all the other credit reporting agencies have properly updated my reports. I just wanted it to be on record that XXXX is still fraudulently saying that they have verified this account with LexisNexis. I will seek legal counsel in this matter since the CFPB has no enforcement arm to make sure that XXXX abides by the FCRA and the laws. It has been nearly 60 days since I disputed this bankruptcy in XXXX and XXXX has been viciously fighting to keep this inaccurate account on my credit report. More importantly, XXXX is not conducting a proper investigation into the matter. If they did, this matter would have been resolved with my XXXX dispute.
