Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: I've requested from the credit reporting agencies the removal of a public record being reported on my credit reports, they have come back as verified by the furnisher who they list as the US Bankruptcy Court XXXX Texas. I received a letter from the United States Bankruptcy Court XXXX XXXX of Texas that states that they are the furnisher of the information and that they don't report information to or remove information from credit bureaus. So after talking on the phone with XXXX and requesting in writing the process of the investigation and how they obtained and verified the information from the United States Bankruptcy Court XXXX XXXX of Texas, I was told that Lexis Nexis a third party company was the furnisher which is in violation of the FDCRA which states only the furnisher of and account or information can report/furnish information in credit files. So since I never had any accounts with LexisNexis they are in violation of Federal Law and United States Bankruptcy XXXX XXXX XXXX of Texas states they didn't provide nor report this information to LexisNexis.

Consumer Complaint: LexisNexis continues to report inaccurate data on my account. They keep saying it was verified but that is not true. I contacted the source they said they verified it from and they said it was never reported to them as they do not subscribe to their agency. Due to that it needs to be REMOVED! It was not validated on verified by the ORIGINAL source. My right to privacy has also been violated according to FCRA 15 USC 1681 ( a ) ( 4 ). They don't have permissible purpose to furnish INACCURATE INFORMATION on my consumer report according to 15 USC 1681i. This is ruining my livelihood and ability to apply to certain jobs and have credit extended to me.

Consumer Complaint: I sent a letter to Lexis Nexis on XX/XX/2021about inaccurate, incorrect information they are reporting to credit reporting agencies. This information was provided to a potential employer and has caused me to not gain employment because of the inaccurate false public information they have on my report. I'm not sure how they were able to provide this inaccurate information becuase I contacted the court and they told me they DO NOT report information to credit reporting or any third parties companies. This is a violation to my right to privacy and I want this information to be deleted from their system and any other agencies such as XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. This company had no permission to report anything concerning my information. Under the FCRA law no consent is identity theft. It is not fair that you can just snoop around my business that has nothing to do with you. I never asked or gave you my consent written or by mouth to report any of my information. if you fail to comply I will file legal action for XXXX you have caused me

Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern ; I have requested 2 times that Lexis Nexis Consumer Center provide me with proof of my signature bearing in reference to a Chapter XXXX bankruptcy that is showing on my credit report. I have challenged Lexis Nexis in reference to this inaccurate, incomplete, unfair and Unverifiable Bankruptcy and their responses came back that it was verified. I advised Lexis Nexis that any Automated Response or pacer and or matching up the last 4 of a consumer social security number for verification is Unacceptable. I also provided a copy of a letter From the US Bankruptcy Courts of Pennsylvania explaining their reporting procedure to agencies in which was sent to me Via Mail which I was advised that they do not report nor do they validate and or confirm public records due to the Fair Credit Reporting Agency Privacy Law. Per FCRA 623 ( a ) ( 5 ) " IF the Credit Bureau can not Validate the information from the original source and or ( creditor ) than they must remove said information from the consumer files. First letter sent to LexisNexis was XX/XX/XXXX. LexisNexis did not respond within the required 30 day window, when they did reply, they did not offer information my signature. They indicated that the report was sourced from the Courthouse information, Property records from the Courthouse. I mailed them again on XX/XX/XXXX indicating that they still not answer the request to present my signature. I also received a letter from the bankruptcy court indicating that they do not verify any information with Credit bureaus or LexisNexis. I received a response to my original letter ( dated XX/XX/XXXX ) which was dated XX/XX/XXXX. The response to the original letter still offered no proof of my signature bearing this Bankruptcy. Again, I received nothing except saying it came back as verified without documentation of my signature which are violations. LexisNexis has failed to respond to the requested action in both the response window, and the proof on how this information was reported to them, and can not verify the source of the information, with proof of my signature as well. As indicated by the bankruptcy court, this is questionable reporting, and should be removed at once.
