Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: This company is committing IDENTITY THEFT, I have NEVER gave permission nor written consent to report my PERSONAL information. The inaccuracy and improper use of my consumer report has caused an extreme burden on providing for family. According to the US District Bankruptcy court they do NOT provide personal information to reporting agencies, therefore there can not be a furnisher to verify the information. This information is only accessible on the XXXX system and they have a privacy discloser on their website that they DO NOT send information to XXXX parties. Retrieving a consumers private, personal information for profit is fraud. How can any of these companies state there is accuracy and verification, if the courts admit to NOT providing personal information?

Consumer Complaint: On or about XX/XX/2022, I requested my consumer file from LexisNexis via their online portal. On or about XX/XX/2022, I received a response that they were unable to process my request because they could not authenticate my identity. The correspondence directed me to resubmit my request, via the online portal. On XX/XX/2022, I resubmitted my request via the online portal. On XX/XX/2022, I received another identical correspondence from LexisNexis stating they were unable to process my request because they could not authenticate my identity. No specific reason has been provided by LexisNexis stating why they could not authenticate my identity. I submitted all relevant personal information, including my social security number and Missouri driver license number, yet they still refuse to provide my consumer file.

Consumer Complaint: I sent a certified dispute letter to LexisNexis, that they received XX/XX/2022. This dispute letter included copys of my Driver ID and a copy of my social security card. I received a letter from them on XX/XX/XXXX telling me they could not verify my identity. I then call LexisNexis and I was informed that letter was a mistake and they were able to start the dispute. I have not received any correspondence from them, so I call today XX/XX/2022. I get told there is nothing on file of any certified letter for a dispute. I mention I'll file a complaint with the CFPB and then the rep just so happens to find my certified dispute letter and then informs me the other forms with copys of my Driver ID and copy of my social security card are missing. The LexisNexis rep then informs me NO dispute was ever filed and that now they will since I stated I file a complaint with the CFPB. The fair credit reporting act, states they have 30days from the time a dispute is filed to investigate and reply back to the consumer. They have NOT done that. They can not just misplace copys of consumers ID numbers and social security cards. They can NOT take a certified dispute letter and hold onto it for a month and then only after getting multiple phone calls finally decide to submit that certified dispute letter to go through the process.

Consumer Complaint: I am both confused and furious by what the credit reporting agencies are showing on my credit report. I recently wanted to check on my information to make sure there wasn't anything inaccurate and see that a bankruptcy from 2017 is reporting. I immediately contacted my attorney who told me originally bankruptcy and any account associated with it can not be shown on my credit report and to contact the court. I then went down to the US District Court in XXXX, NJ and asked for documentation that they send to the credit bureaus without my consent. The young lady was very professional and told me they get these questions XXXX of times a month but they do not supply information to any credit bureaus because it's a violation of the privacy act and that's all she could tell me. I am ready to have my attorney file suit because this is ridiculous. I have not given LExis Nexis or any of their business affiliated permission to report ANY private information and demand it be removed in the next 30 days. I don't understand how any company has the audacity to violate a law abiding citizen 's rights. If this can't be resolved timely I will move forward with filing suit in my local federal court.

Consumer Complaint: 15 USC 1681- We have a right to privacy and companies have no permission to report anything on a credit report with identifying information. Pursuant to18 USC sec 8 & HJR 192- All Debt is a government obligation. No notification was given to me on what would be reported monthly to the bureaus. I contacted the bankruptcy court and they verified that they DO NOT report their activities due to privacy. I contacted ALL 3rd party credit bureaus with the letter from the bankruptcy court and they refused to remove it from my credit report. This is a direct Violation.

Consumer Complaint: The public record listed below is still reporting on my credit report which is a violation of FCRA. The Bureaus failed to comply with Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 USC sections 1681i within the time declared by law, they failed to properly investigate the matter by using a third party as their verification provider and have continued reporting the unconfirmed & unverified information. Given all my attempts to address it directly with ( XXXX, and XXXX ), they are willfully negligent and non-complying with federal statutes & I need this matter handled immediately. Please remove the public records below : XXXX XXXX Bankruptcy Date Filed/Reported : XX/XX/2019 Reference # : XXXX ; XXXX XXXX Bankruptcy Date Filed/Reported : XX/XX/2019 Reference # : XXXX
