Consumer Complaint: I had some work done in my backyard during the month of XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was sent a bill from XXXX XXXX XXXX for the balance of my bill {$8300.00} requesting I send it via electronic transfer from my XXXX XXXX XXXX saving account to an account at Chase bank. Here 's the information I received : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX CHASE Bank Address : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MA XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX : XXXX 's XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX MA XXXX XXXX sent the money to Chase as XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX informed me on XX/XX/XXXX that their email address was hacked and it was not XXXX XXXX XXXX I sent the money to. I also learned that the name on the account at XXXX was not XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX ( I don't know what the name on the account was as XXXX said that privacy laws forbade it ) and that XXXX XXXX XXXX doesn't have an account at Chase. Chase should have flagged the mismatch of names- the name to which I transferred money to XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and the actual name on the account which was NOT XXXX XXXX XXXX. I went through my bank, XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX to get my money back from Chase. I filed the claim on XX/XX/XXXX. It wasn't until XX/XX/XXXX that XXXX informed me that Chase denied the claim as the account was empty ; not a surprise. I also filed a police report, made a claim through my home owners ( no success ), and filed a claim with the FTC

Consumer Complaint: I booked a flight on XXXX through chase ultimate rewards using points. The flight was on XX/XX/2022. XXXX cancelled the flight due to their pilot strike. Chase said they would refund my flight due to XXXX cancelling because of the pilot strike. At first chase said they would refund me in a statement credit of {$1300.00}. And that I would have it by XX/XX/XXXX at the latest. This date was not met. Then I was told it would come as points instead of a statement credit and it would come as XXXX points. Which only has a cash value of {$670.00}. This is less than the travel I booked. I was also told this refund would come by XX/XX/2022. It has not. Can you please help me get my money back. They have been holding it up for three months now with no concern for my financial well being.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Cashing a check
Consumer Complaint: Hello, I deposited a check into my checking account on XX/XX/22. I checked my online banking app daily waiting for the check to clear as it was showing the deposit status as " pending '' until XX/XX/22. On that day, the transaction appeared as completed and it was no longer showing as pending. Once I saw the transaction complete, I took the funds. Few days later however, I received a letter from Chase dated XXXX, stating there was a stop payment on that check and therefore they had reversed the transaction and had the audacity to charge me a fee for it! When I called their customer service to confront them about this, the representative just gave me an answer that seemed to be from a written script stating that the deposit XXXX take 3-5 days and that I was wrong to think the check has cleared and the funds belonged to the bank as Good Faith! They just reversed the outrages fee, but they were not a single bit sorry about anything. I wonder is it legal for a bank to make such an error? Basically showing a check as cleared/settled, fooling me into taking the funds and then changing their mind to take the funds back? What if the money was used for a product or service? What if this was a car I had sold? I would have surrendered the vehicle, signed the pink slip only to find out days later that the check had a stop on it. It just sounds illegal to me and it's frustrating. Attached are copies of the letter from the crooks at Chase along with the letter from them. Thank you for your help!

Consumer Complaint: I authorized a payment for a credit check ( {$48.00} ) and a hold on an apartment ( {$300.00} ) that I might rent, giving an apartment complex my routing and checking account number -- a one-time transaction. Later I learned that the property manager was ethically challenged, with numerous lawsuits against them as well as the XXXX of CA after them for forming a XXXX to raise rents in CA. I was fearful that this unethical company might try to take more from my checking account, so I called my bank, Chase. Sure enough, I was told that the company could take more money from my account -- an XXXX. After three phone calls during which I spoke with at least eight Chase employees I was persuaded that the only way to prevent unauthorized withdrawals was to pay {$30.00} to stop payment. In my view it should be a simple thing to ask a bank to cancel an ACH. I don't mind paying {$30.00} to stop a payment that I authorized, such as a check I've written, but why must I pay {$30.00} to stop a payment I did not authorize? I suspect that banks are collecting {$30.00} stop-payment fees from millions of customers who want to stop businesses from taking money from their accounts.

Issue: Getting a loan or lease
Subissue: Credit denial
Consumer Complaint: I applied for a loan through Chase bank and I was denied an extension of my own credit they failed to uphold a fiduciary obligation. As well as the car dealership. They violated 15 USC 1605 truth in lending at determination of finance charge. As well as 15 US C 1611 criminal liability for willfully and knowingly giving me false information. Why because its public information and if its public information that means they should know it and theres no excuse to break that law I plan to speak with them this morning to resolve this issue. As the trustee hopefully they do right by me the beneficiary.
