Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low
Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: My appraisal company has been low on cash due to the recent rate hikes. Our volume decreased by 90 % but I still had to pay our employees. Chase bank has charged me {$490.00} in overdraft fees in the past two weeks even though checks are still being deposited they keep charging me keeping my balance low and hindering my attempts to get caught back up.

Issue: Trouble using your card
Subissue: Can't use card to make purchases
Consumer Complaint: Last Tuesday around XX/XX/XXXX, my Chase cards were forcibly removed from XXXX XXXX. I did not remove them from XXXX XXXX. I tried adding them back to XXXX XXXX and it said to contact the card issuer. They said that my account is in good standing and EVERYTHING IS FINE. Even to this day I can not add these cards back to XXXX XXXX. it's the primary way I use my chase cards to prevent unauthorized transactions. Their technical support was of no help. Also, there was a transaction on my Chase Sapphire card for about XXXX. I was erroneously charged for someone else 's transaction at this restaurant as I did not order this much from that restaurant. I only ordered about {$14.00} worth of food. I don't have my receipt anymore but I don't even know what to do now.

Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: About XXXX unauthorized transactions were made against my Chase checking from a website called XXXX XXXX totaling XXXX {$3000.00} which left my account overdrawn. Chase sent me a message stating they blocked 1 transaction of {$510.00}. I immediately checked my account and called Chase Bank and had my card cancelled and filed a dispute for the XXXX unauthorized transactions. Chase Bank only gave less than half the money that was stolen. I then called them back and they said there was nothing they can do because it doesn't look like fraud and couldn't explain why they gave some of it back. I called them 3 different times to inquire about the status of my dispute and they gave a different explanation each time and they kept insisting there was nothing they could do about it and they still owe me {$2000.00} and I live on Social Security and that all the money had to pay my bills.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: Complaint is with Chase Bank and online payment page : Web page consistently does not work when additional amounts are entered when making payment. This has occurred over the past several years, resulting in calls to the company to pay by phone and requesting to fix the problem. It appears that Chase is trying to force consumers to ( 1 ) sign up for automatic payments, and/or ( 2 ) make it difficult to pay additional amounts to accumulate additional interest charges that benefit Chase. Recent occurrence : XXXX XX/XX/20XXXX XXXX XXXX. I tried several times to pay more than the required minimal amount, but the system would not process the request. The system did accept the entry when it was equal to the required minimal amount. This issue has occurred numerous times over the past several years. I have called Chase on several occasions about this issue and to make payment. In addition, because there were a number of times that the system did not accept any payment, I requested a monthly paper bill as back-up. Thank you for consideration on this matter.

My merchant services account was approved. The account number is XXXX. I called Chase and XXXX of the XXXX XXXX XXXX team members XXXX XXXX confirmed my enrollment in the promotion " Chase is offering some business customers {$1000.00} when signing up for XXXX XXXX XXXX and processing {$2000.00} ( at least 5 transactions and settle {$2000.00} or more into the Chase payment solution account ) in payments. Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Funds not handled or disbursed as instructed
Consumer Complaint: Several checks were stolen from the post office. because I pay my bills twice a month there were approximately seven of mine taken, they were than either washed or deposited directly into a bank ( other than mine ) Chase bank is aware of the situation and reimbursed me for all but one. This check is in excess of {$4000.00} dollars and has yet to be remimbursed to me. allthe others have. This particular check is obvious fraud due to the fact that it remained payable to Chase mortgage and signed by an illegible individual. Chase is now saying that the bank ( I believe is XXXX XXXX XXXX ) is dragging their feet therefore Chase is refusing to reimburse me. I am filing this complaint due to receiving a letter from Chase that they have put a timeline on this situation and if the other bank does not pay them I am out of luck and, to be exact {$4300.00} of luck and they will close the issue. I believe that it is such an obvious fraud that Chase should reimburse me and go after the other bank to be reimbursed to reimburse them, maybe then they will push a little harder if they are ones losing the money.

Consumer Complaint: Hi, I am a XXXX resident. I sent a check of worth {$1500.00} USD from my XXXX XXXX account with XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to my cousin who lives in XXXX XXXX California on 2023 XX/XX/XXXX. He is a new immigrant in XXXX and opened his account in Chase Bank, XXXX XXXX, California. He received my check via post and deposited the Check to Chase bank using his online banking app on 2023 XX/XX/XXXX. But he did not get money in his account and he visited Chase bank at XXXX XXXX and raised his concern on 2023 XX/XX/XXXX. They told him that we want to verify the check sender. My cousin provided them my phone number and then they said our online security system is not able to verify his XXXX phone number so we are not able to call him. He also called on their customer service number but they said the same thing that our system isn't able to verify his phone number. They only want to talk with me via their security system. Chase bank said check sender should contact his bank and his bank should request us to send his money bank into his account. I contacted my bank XXXX and they we have released the money {$1500.00} to Chase bank. They said why we should request them to send it back. It is a matter between Chase and his customer ( my cousin ). XXXX sent me a proof on payment released to the Chase bank. On 2023 XX/XX/XXXX, my cousin received a letter from Chase bank that your account will be closed to protect you against the fraud. And they closed his account after few days. I again requested XXXX to talk with Chase bank, XXXX rep contacted them on a conference call with me and my cousin to resolve the issue but Chase bank 's rep denied to talk and said we only talk with our customers. But when my cousin ( their customer ) call them they said we can't verify your cousin 's XXXX number and can't release the money. I just want my money back from the Chase bank that they did not release it to my cousin in XXXX XXXX. I send a message to Chase on their XXXX account and ask for my money everyday. But they don't provide me a satisfactory answer. It seems like a scam and they don't want to give my money back. My cousin is also trying on his end, but not getting any help. Please help us.

Consumer Complaint: chase bank has honored XXXX and XXXX 's attempt to freeze my account. I was not aware of any court dates and went to the courthouse to file an order to show cause. following the court date in XX/XX/2022 myself and XXXX and XXXX have come to an agreement. chase bank has been contacted multiple times to release the hold on my account and all documents have been sent by fax by myself and said debt collector. I have been contacting calling parties to resolve the issue for months. chase tells me that havent received anything and up until last week the last person i spoke to from the legal department has told me that they have been denying my all documentation that the debt collector has been sending to them. Chase has received proper documentation from the debt collection agency and will not honor the lien release forn which is a legal document. i have been fighting with chase from XX/XX/2022.

Consumer Complaint: I recently signed up for a Chase account and on XX/XX/XXXX I deposited a check. I waited the nine business days. The funds were available in my balance. However, a restriction was placed on my account. As instructed, I brought the required documents into the branch to lift the restriction. Without any notification, my funds were taken from my account and placed in a Debit DDA - Check Charge Account where I did not have access. I contacted the executive branch they resolved my issue but I waited around forty days from the time my check was deposited to my funds becoming available. On XX/XX/XXXX I deposited a new check from the same check writer from the same account as the first one. A nine day hold was placed, again. On XX/XX/XXXX the check cleared in my available balance. Then the restriction was placed, once again, and now the funds were taken to Debit DDA - Check Charge without warning. It was stated that in order to remove the restriction Chase needed to contact the check writer. However, apparently the registered phone number to the check writer is not in their database. They were able to tell me the last four of the phone number they were using to contact the writer. After doing some research, Chase wasn't contacting the correct company ; XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX in XXXX, Ca, ( the check writer ) they were contacting XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Ca. Now I don't have access to my funds and I risk getting my bank account shut down among other issues. Chase has informed me that they will hold my funds indefinitely until the check writer is verified.
