Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: I submitted my initial complaint on XX/XX/2023. This is my 2nd attempt to solve major problems to my credit report. I requested for the Equifax to send me the procedure in which they verified the negative accounts on my credit report. I received NOTHING showing this verification method. However, there were several erroneous UPDATES added to my credit report. I have attempted several times to get this problem resolved with Equifax concerning erroneous and inaccurate items on my consumer report to no avail. Equifax has continuously violated my rights as a consumer as to the Fair Credit Reporting Act that states that Accuracy and fairness is my right. The Fair Credit Reporting Agency also states that there is a NEED to ensure that consumer reporting agencies exercise their grave responsibilities with fairness, impartiality and respect for the consumers right to privacy and those things have not been done in my case. The following accounts continue to show up on my consumer report month after month XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Account XXXX XXXX and XXXX Account # XXXX. XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX Account # XXXX. These accounts are erroneous and inaccurate. I did not give permissible permission for these items to be reported by the consumer reporting agency to the consumer report. Please help me get these accounts DELETED permanently from my consumer report.

Consumer Complaint: I wanted to update my earlier complaint but I was unable to so I am submitting a new complaint but it should be known that their is a previous complaint from the other day. This had the most pertinent information As per the Fair Credit Reporting Act, specifically 15 USC 1681 section 602 ( a ), it is emphasized that consumer reporting agencies must carry out their significant responsibilities with fairness, impartiality, and a regard for the consumer 's right to privacy. Equifax and XXXX and XXXX, being consumer reporting agencies, and I, as the consumer, have the explicit right to ensure the protection of my private information, as supported by 15 USC 6801. This statute articulates the Congress 's policy that financial institutions have an ongoing obligation to respect the privacy of their customers and safeguard the security and confidentiality of their nonpublic personal information. Entities that furnish information to credit agencies, categorized as financial institutions, are bound by 15 USC 1681 section 604 ( a ) ( 2 ), which specifies that consumer reporting agencies may only provide a consumer report in accordance with the written instructions of the concerned consumer. The financial institution, Equifax, Experian, Transunion and any furnisher of information to credit agencies, do not possess my consent to furnish this information, and certainly not my written consent. I hereby revoke any and all forms of consent, whether verbal, non-verbal, written, implied, or otherwise, to Equifax, Experian, Transunion and any furnisher of information to credit agencies. Furthermore, as outlined in 15 USC 6802 ( b ) ( c ), a financial institution is prohibited from disclosing nonpublic personal information to nonaffiliated third parties unless the consumer is informed about the option to exercise nondisclosure. The furnisher of information to credit agencies failed to inform me of my right to exercise this nondisclosure option. Additionally, 15 USC 1681c ( a ) ( 5 ) explicitly prohibits consumer reporting agencies from including certain adverse information in consumer reports, especially without the consumer 's permission, which is the case with the account in question. Moreover, 15 U.S. Code 1681s2 ( A ) ( 1 ) A emphasizes that information should not be furnished to consumer reporting agencies if there is knowledge or reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. Equifax and XXXX and XXXX are not adhering to reasonable procedures, as required by 15 U.S. Code 1681e, which mandates consumer reporting agencies to maintain procedures designed to avoid violations of specific sections and limit the furnishing of consumer reports to specified purposes. Finally, in accordance with 12 CFR 1016.7, I am exercising my right to opt out of your reporting services at this time. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I disputed the medical debt collections. It was still kept on my report even though Equifax has written articles on removing medical debt collections that are paid in full. I did not explicitly state this was the reason I was disputing the account. Confirmation number : XXXX. On XX/XX/2023 I disputed the medical debt collections again. It was still kept on my report even though Equifax has written articles on removing medical debt collections that are paid in full. These articles I have attached to the 2nd dispute. I called and spoke to one representative who did not know about Equifax 's removal of medical debt, sent to collections, and paid in full. I was transferred to a supervisor XXXX, who only verified my information and concern then dropped the call and did not call me back. I then called another time and was told to attach a cover letter outlining my request in addition to the articles I already attached as supporting documents. Confirmation number : XXXX On XX/XX/2023, I disputed the medical debt collections again, for the third time. It was still kept on my report even though Equifax has written articles on removing medical debt collections that are paid in full. I attached a cover letter explaining the removal of medical debt, paid in full, and in collections. I attached articles both to the cover letter and the dispute itself. Confirmation number : XXXX I called on XX/XX/2023 and spoke to XXXX XXXX I am at a loss and have no idea why these articles, published by Equifax aren't made aware to the dispute investigators, why the documents aren't being read, and how many more disputes until the new policy is taught to individuals. On XXXX XX/XX/2023 I applied for a XXXX XXXX XXXX card. I was told I was declined because of the EQUIFAX Credit report showing a Major Delinquency, the Medical Debt that is continuously ignored as medical debt in collections. The account, which should not be in my history has prevented me from attaining a financial product.

Issue: Credit monitoring or identity theft protection services
Subissue: Problem canceling credit monitoring or identify theft protection service
Consumer Complaint: I submitted a Identity theft report refer to report number XXXX only to be told by the bureaus that the file number that I provided was not valid. The file number that I provided was on all the documents I mailed to them which were the instructions once I filed given to me by the FTC which were demanding them that they had 5 days to block the inquiries from reporting on my report per order of the ftc. I sent them their copy and I also sent the copy with similar instructions to the creditor reporting the inquiry. The response I was given by the credit bureau was that they had 30 days to look into the matter. I corrected them by reminding them that the 30 day rule applied in a normal dispute action but in the case I was presenting to them this was an FTC Identity Theft Report and the laws that they were bound by was a five day rule if they could not conclude their investigation in a five day period they were to block the two inquiry 's from reporting. They did not agree with my understanding and that was as far as I was willing to go. The two inquiry 's in this situation are : XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/202XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: The federal Education Department changed my loan servicer from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXX/XX/XXXX because I was placed on the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. When the COVID forbearance ended in the XXXX XXXX began reporting my loan information to the credit bureaus but then XXXX did too. For both companies it was exactly the same amount so it looked liked my student loans were double what they were at over {$500000.00}. As a result, my debt to income ratio was too high for a home equity loan I applied for in XXXX. At that point I was able to still access my XXXX account online and it showed that my balance was XXXX and the account was closed. After I was rejected for the home equity loan, I tried to long back into my account at XXXX to dispute it with them but they now said my account did not exist even though I was logging in with my Social Security number and my birthday. I tried to call them but the automated phone system said the same thing and would not reroute me to a live person because it could not find my account. Finally I found a general line for XXXX custome support, but the wait time was 411 minutes long. I opted for a call back and the system said it could be after XXXX before someone called me. They never called. I filed a complaint with XXXX on an email address I found on the XXXX XXXXXXXX page but the response said they were reporting a deliqincy on my account and referred me back to the credit bureaus for that information. The delinquency does not show up on the credit beaureus ' information for my XXXX account. I was also on income based and hardship deferrals throughout my time with them because my payments were impossible to pay while supporting my family of XXXX. All the credit bureaus and the XXXX XXXXXXXX people say I have to talk to XXXX to resolve the issue but I can't log into their online system or phone system because it says I do not exist in their system. The help they have given via email does not address the issue. I am at my wits end. XXXX owns my loans now and is my student loan servicer. I am paying my monthly bill with them and very close to forgiveness now. XXXX should not be reporting an open account for me or a balance.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, my Bank asked me to unlock the freeze so they can access to my credit check to finish my line of credit renewal. I unlocked online but they weren't able to access still and Equifax told my back that I need to call to resolve the matter. So I called on XX/XX/2023. The representative XXXX assured that she unlocked on her end and there shouldn't be any problems now. But was not able to tell me why she had to do that this year as every year when I was able to unlock on my end from my online account. My bank tried again and wans ; t still working and Equifax told my bank I need to call again. On XX/XX/2023, I called again and this time XXXX asked that I need to send a copy of my social security card and current driver 's license via XXXX and also I have to call back to confirm they got it. He sent it via email and I sent the documents shortly and got an email confirmation that they received it. I called to confirm and put on hold over 30 minutes and got disconnected. as my back still don't have access, my bank and I did a conference call to resolve the issue on XX/XX/2023 at XXXX XXXX. the supervisor XXXX stated it is their policy I have to call back " the office of Consumer Affairs '' again to discuss and assured that she is leaving a not to on my file so it will be resolved then. Otherwise, there is nothing she can do and there is no one above her to resolve this. So I called back and " XXXX '' told me they don't have the documents that I sent on XX/XX/2023 and I need to resend them. Told her I have an confirmation email that you received them and I feel very unsafe now where the sensitive documents are and since she doesn't know I don't want to send again. She said there is no other way around! Each time I call it takes over 10 minutes to get to someone and each time no one seems to have an answer to the issue. Asked to speak to the manager so we can solve the issue but " supervisor '' XXXX said there is no one else except her, who can't help the issue other then I call back the same number and go through the process again. even though she promised this matter should be resolved when I call back, it didn't. where do I go from here? that is why I am contacting you for a help! so my bank can access to my credit to renew my line of credit, which I need urgently to run a business. Please help!
