Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/17 : Noticed a collection was reported to my XXXX credit report by a collection agency called : Convergent Outsourcing. I never received any letters or correspondences from Convergent Outsourcing. XX/XX/17 : called the Convergent Outsourcing collection agency to inquire about the collection account they reported to my credit report. I provided them both the account number & my social security number & told them I had never received any correspondences from them & had no idea about the collection. Their response was they do n't have my information on me available. I specified that I am in process of a financing transaction and as the result of this negative reporting I ca n't proceed with obtaining financing. I requested them to remove the collection account since they do n't have any information on me. They said they cant do that at this time. They provided me with supervisor 's email & asked me to email a supervisor which I did and made the request, but the supervisor never responded back.

Consumer Complaint: My wife has received numerous harassing phone calls from XXXX XXXX from XXXX, TN asking for me, stating they were attempting to collect a debt on a XXXX account that was past due. When this first occurred, I contacted XXXX, who confirmed that I was not in collection and my account was in good standing.
XXXX was the phone number that they called from, and when searching for that number, it comes up as a locksmith company. The persons on the phone have been threatening my wife with collection and negative credit strikes against my credit if we do n't pay. When told that we do n't have a balance with XXXX, they would not listen and again tried to scare us into paying the 'debt. ' They have called twelve ( 12 ) times in the last six weeksCompany Response: Company has responded to the consumer and the CFPB and chooses not to provide a public response

Subissue: Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged
Consumer Complaint: I had recently submitted a complaint in regards XXXX XXXX for an collections account of {$370.00}. The collection company did not resolve my request. Since then they have illegally re-aged and reopened the collections account as of XXXX XXXX, 2017. The account status was closed and marked as a charged off account for the past couple of months. They had threaten me in the past about how they were going to damage my credit and the recent reopening/re-ageing of the closed account which has significantly hurt my credit score in the past week supports my claim of their harassment and illegal practices of bullying consumers. I have taken picture and attached it to this complaint of the account status as of XXXX, 2017 and as of XXXX XXXX, 2017. The change in the account status occurred after I submitted my initial complaint which leads me to believe they purposely and illegally re-aged/reopened this account to hurt my credit score. I feel bullied and treated without any respect. Because of their unethical and illegal practices good/hardworking people like me suffer and our progression towards a stable financial future is impeded.
I would like to request for XXXX XXXX to remove this account from all credit bureaus ( XXXX, XXXX & XXXX ).Company Response:

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX has a fraudulent account listed against my credit file with the credit bureaus. The account they have listed against me was opened as a result of identity theft, where my correct personal information was used to open a utility account in my name fraudulently. This account is however not under my social security number, yet it is still listed on my credit file. I have contacted XXXX XXXX to make them aware that this was a fraudulent account and was yelled and screamed at by one of their agents, and they refused to remove the account from my credit files. I have never done business with XXXX XXXX, the person who placed this account with Convergent, nor have I done business with XXXX XXXX. This account is 100 % fraudulent and Convergent has refused to cooperate in having this fraudulent account removed from my credit file and continue to attempt to collect on a debt they have been made keenly aware is fraudulent.
