Consumer Complaint: This debt is based out of the state of California where the statute of limitations on any debt is 4 years. i incurred this debt before 2011 and the debt collector trying to collect only bought this accountXX/XX/XXXXof this year. This account is way past the expiration date and therefore i feel it is not a collectable account. attached are documentations showing that i have not lived in the state of california to incur this charge since 2011.

I have read a lot of complaints on this company and some have stated that they are a fraudulent company and they way they conduct business is not of standards.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I was switching from XXXX cellphone carrier to XXXX. After my final bill arrived it was paid in full. In meantime XXXX XXXX posted collections on my credit report for the amount of the final bill from cellphone carrier. When I called XXXX XXXX to ask why they put collections on my credit report they replied that I owed them money but do not owe anymore. I asked can they validate the debt they referring to and they refused me to provide any information on it claiming that account has been closed. I asked them to remove collections if they are not able to validate debt and provide any relevant information they refused to do so. My credit report dropped 30 points causing damage because of that posted on my report and they can not provide evidence of the debt owed in the first place. I asked them why they are refusing to remove negative information if they are not able to validate the debt, they reply that XXXX hired them to post negative information on the former customer accounts. I was shocked by that reply and had nothing to say further.

Consumer Complaint: In response to prior complaint ( below ), XXXX stated that my account was closed and there was no remaining debt ( XXXX case number : XXXX ). Nevertheless, I continue to experience extreme harassment by collections agencies for these charges. Due to lack of coverage and fraudulent advertising of coverage maps, I canceled my XXXX XXXX account. This was followed up with a letter from a collections agency ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) for {$120.00} for my XXXX account. XXXX did NOT notify me at any point of this balance before forwarding to collections. Upon contacting XXXX, they refused to provide the basis for this bill, or a rationale for using a collections agency before notifying me. They further refused to state whether the bill was valid and could not tell me what account or service it was for.

Consumer Complaint: I recently received a copy of my credit report and I noticed that this company is reporting not one but TWO negative information against my SSN. I have never done business with this company. They have never provided me with any goods or services. I have no contractual obligations to this company yet they have reported to the CRA 's that I indeed do. I am requesting validatio for both debts. Please send me a signed contract between me and your company. One that I signed and one you signed. Copies of a copy is not legit. I would like to see the contract with my wet ink signature, detailed statements from the last 6 months, and how this alleged debt was calculated.

Consumer Complaint: I received a letter in the mail on XX/XX/XXXX from Convergent, in which the letter was dated for XX/XX/XXXX. The letter says your response is requested to pay a bill that I knew nothing about. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, at XXXX XXXX, I called the number listed on the letter XXXX, and spoke to a CSR. I was told by the CSR that this bill was sent to them with an original date from XX/XX/XXXX. I was giving a client account number and a contact number to the original creditor who is XXXX XXXX. The CSR would not give me any information on the debt. I was told that the debt would be placed on my credit report if I did not pay. I ask the CSR why I was not contacted in over 13 years about this matter. I was never contacted from this company or the original creditor who is I ask the CSR at Convergent about the statute of limitation on trying to collect on this bill that was said to be over 13 years old. Convergent did not follow the proper laws on trying to collect this debt, I was never notified, the statute of limitations is up, I am being harassed and told my credit would be impacted. After the phone conversation, I immediately contacted the original creditor at XXXX. I provided the CSR at XXXX the client ID number giving by Convergent, and that company could not find that account.
