Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: I have contacted XXXX XXXX and informed them the debt from XXXX did not belong to me. In return, they sent a bill ; they DID NOT provide proof of a signed contract, signature or ID verifying that the debt is mine. XXXX XXXX continues to report to XXXX this erroneous debt although they DID not verify nor validate the disputed debt. In addition they are reflecting this account was opened in XXXX 2016. I did not open an account and did not give anyone permission to obtain an account using my personal information and are not responsible for the charges they are reporting. This needs to be removed from my credit report in its entirety and not return.

Consumer Complaint: Last week ~XX/XX/17 I started receiving calls from an unknown number. I googled the number and it showed to be XXXX XXXX, though they never left messages nor their identification. I called the number back, twice and it said XXXX XXXX XXXX. The first time they refused to give me any information as I would not give my address as it seemed like a scam but said I owed debt. The second time I called I gave my address and he said he could not find me and that I would have to wait to receive something in the mail. I then called the number on the website instead and with just my phone number they said they were looking for a XXXX. The reason I find this so perplexing and odd is that when I called back the first and second time they repeated a name back to me that was almost like mine. I found this scary so I wanted to pursue the matter. I am unsure how they got a partial version of my name and number, but then said the debt was for someone else. I find it bizarre and concerning and want to make sure the credit I have worked hard to protect is n't going to be affected by some bogus company.

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: I sent out a letter to XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX about a XXXX cell phone balance, to validate the debt they claim I owe with any formal agreement or contracts or to remove this debt off my credit report. They have been reporting to my credit report for years that I owe {$350.00}. I have NEVER had a XXXX as my phone carrier service. On XX/XX/XXXX I got a letter back from them sending a bill of the amount owed. But again I never had any service with them. And a bill does not validate or truly verified I owed them. They refuse to send any agreement or contracts. And I ask them to stop reporting if they cant send me a contract or some kind of agreement. Someone had to had this cell phone in my name. After research I was told I can file a complaint. I just want this to be remove off my report because it is unfair to have something negatively reporting on your credit that you have no knowledge of.
