I got this number back on XXXX XXXX, 2017 and explained to them to remove my number and stop calling me. Now they have told me I 'm lying and refused to also not record me when I told them not to, they also no matter how many times I tell them to give me their manager never give me a manager, they just deflect and try to phish for my personal information. Which they have no right to have as I 've never done any business or have contacted them. Yet they are rude and hangup when asking for their manager.

Consumer Complaint: I contacted Convergent regarding an alleged balance from XXXX of {$1200.00} that is on my credit report. The billing they sent me dated XX/XX/XXXX shows a previous balance of {$1100.00} but no explanation how they came up with the owed amount with previous detailed charges. At the time of the service with XXXX, I contacted them because I was not getting cellular service like I was supposed to. XXXX explained to me that the reason for the missed, dropped calls and interruption in service was because they were in the process of repairing their cellular towers and that they had no set date of when the repairs would be completed by. As such, since I was getting no service and missing client business calls I had no choice but to cancel my service. I assume the majority of the bill was early termination fees and final month of service which obviously was not provided. Based on what they sent me in response to my request ( when a consumer asks for detailed charges simply sending a previous balance is not sufficient ). Their information is incomplete and I can not proceed with any type of negotiation with such incomplete information. It is my assertion that based on the lack of cellular service provided and local statutes in my state that prohibit utility companies for charging services that can not be rendered I should have no balance owed and this collection should be removed from my credit bureau record. I contacted Convergent via certified mail in XX/XX/XXXX. I also contacted the 3 credit bureaus in XX/XX/XXXXand one last attempt to Convergent in XX/XX/XXXX and have been working on getting this resolved since then. It 's been over 8 months and still do n't have a resolution. Attached is a copy of the billing they provided in XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/17 I sent communication to the company requesting that they validate the debt as I do n't recall having this account. Because of the possibility of this account being a product of identity theft, I asked them for a copy of the original business transaction that binds me to this debt ( Per Section 609 ( e ) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ). The company proceeds to respond to me that they have verified the debt, provides a statement from the original company that explains how the charges were accumulated, however does n't show any original binding contract that I agreed to, which I am well within my rights to request. It is unfortunate that a company can not furnish the information requested, but is easily able to apply it to my credit report without any reasonable explanation. This has caused me time and money due to my attempts at purchasing a home with lower interest rates.
