Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: Hello, I am seeking resolutions to handling FCRA violations done against me by the debt collection agency, XXXX XXXX, who is violating the provisions of the FCRA, which has caused my credit score to drop tremendously, resulting in receiving higher interest rates on loans. XXXX XXXX XXXX, is committing violations to the FCRA. They also are involved in or party to what is considered, " double jeopardy '' where this account has previously been with multiple other collection agencies that were removed from my credit files only to be purchased by XXXX XXXX XXXX and falsely reported the same account with the same " Original Creditor-XXXX ''. If an item is changed or deleted, the credit reporting company can not put the disputed information back on my file unless the information provider validates that the information is accurate and complete ( which it is neither ). I have documentation showing that this account was previously with other collection agencies and removed from my credit files, only to learn that now the same account is being falsely reported to XXXX and XXXX credit reporting agencies. I am still trying to understand how XXXX XXXX was able to just report on the same inaccurate, incomplete, invalid and false information back to the credit reporting agencies, of the same account previously removed.I hope that you are able to assist me in having this unscrupulous debt collection agency reported and held accountable for their intentional violations to FCRA.

Issue: Communication tactics
Subissue: Used obscene, profane, or other abusive language
Consumer Complaint: Hello, I have been contacting this company for well over a month and spoken to numerous representatives and managers to resolve the debt. Everyone lies and transfers calls. Since XX/XX/XXXX, I have faxed, called, and emailed over 30 times getting the runaround, hung up on, misinformation, confusion, and incompetent stall tactics. I spoke with a manager XXXX handling XXXX accounts who assured me that since I lived in the state of New York, I had to email a statement saying I gave Convergent permission to email me and we agreed I would settle this account for {$250.00}. I emailed immediately while she was on the phone to a # clerks email. I called the next day as she requested so I could pay it and interestingly when I asked for the same manager she was " in a meeting ''. Then I called that afternoon and reps hung up the phone or transferred me all over the place. ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS PAY. Who does this to someone just wanting to pay? They never sent the invoice as THE MANAGER told me that department would so I could have proof of what we agreed before I paid. Another week goes by with me calling and still no resolution. She even tells me there is SEPARATE UNNAMED DEPARTMENT that I can not communicate with who handles email correspondence. Yesterday, I coincidentally got transferred to XXXX again, reminded her who I was and reminded her that nothing she told me was true. She then tells me they have a NEW EMAIL ADDRESS and that she gave me the wrong one 3 weeks ago! I was stunned. So I email that account 3 times - XXXX - how convenient that a new email address pops up. I paid off this debt XX/XX/XXXX in good faith with XXXX and STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RECEIPT stating this matter is settled TO MY EMAIL. TODAY - I was just put on hold at XXXX XXXX this morning, XX/XX/XXXX as I am writing this. The representative said she had to figure out what department sends receipts???? I was on hold for 15 minutes and I hung up because I knew from experience that rep was not coming back to the phone. This company is evil and corrupt. How long does it take to send a 30 second email? I want my receipt so I can move on with my life and never have to deal with this company again. They should be shut down. They have no corporate numbers to call and bogus websites, and all this confusion. I can't believe this company is allowed to be in existence with all the negative reviews and complaints all over the internet. Disclaimer : This debt is under my maiden name, Do not let them say they can not find me.

Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a collections credit alert on my credit report from XXXX XXXX for {$910.00} dollars. I contacted them and asked them to verify the debt, including agreement that authorizes them to collect this debt, the agreement which bears the signature of the debtor and the complete payment history which shows the amount they are truing to collect is valid. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a canned letter from XXXX XXXX stating the debt was verified and a single page from a ( XX/XX/XXXX ) XXXX XXXX statement. The information they provided did not verify the debt. On XX/XX/XXXX, I mailed XXXX XXXX a second request to verify the debt and include the requested items required to verify the debt under FDCPA. They have not responded with the requesting verification.

Consumer Complaint: OnXX/XX/XXXX I called XXXX XXXX about a collection that was placed on my report in the amount of XXXX. I tried explaining to a representative then a supervisor that this same collection was removed from my report by XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. The account does not belong to me and the original creditor ( XXXX ) previously has stated that they did not assign a collection with my info to a collection agency. This company has placed a bogus collection on my report that they do not own and when I asked for validation I got the run around. This company is also very shaky and unprofessional. I was on hold for 2 hours, hung up on etc just to get an account number

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I sent a certified letter in response to a listing on my credit report pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g ( Sec. 809 ) for a claim for disputed and validation is request. I demanded proof of this debt, specifically the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature, as well as proof of their authority in the matter. Absent such proof, you must correct any erroneous reports of this past debt as mine. I asked them to please also provide the following information for my records. What the money you say I owe is for. I also need evidence of the original debt that bears my signature, as well as a complete account history, including any charges added for collection activity. Provide me with copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay what you say I owe Lastly, Im requesting evidence of your authorization in this alleged matter. I asked them to provide the proof, or correct the record and remove this invalid debt from all sources to which you have reported it. Instead, they sent me a computer print-out that does not even have my signature. My point is that they have failed to prove this account is mine. I did not request a " verification '' that they have my mailing address, I requested a " validation ; '' that is, competent evidence that I have some contractual obligation to pay them.
