Subissue: You told them to stop contacting you, but they keep trying
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/3019. I got another call from XXXX, I recognize it as they have called periodically over the last 3-6 months. Every time I tell them they have the wrong number and they say they will remove it and never do. Yesterday, I got a call, it rang 3x and hung up, I called it back and they asked for my ex-wife again. I have been divorced for many years and don't want to hear the name. They don't care. This date I got a clown calling himself XXXX XXXX, the manager. I had to threaten to file this complaint to get him to the phone after 4 tries and claims that he is tooooo busy. I got him and he again said they would remove the number. I am familiar with contacting third parties after they have been advised to stop and this is a violation under the FDCPA and UDAAP. Each violation carries a maximum of {$1000.00}. per violation. I want Convergent to leave me alone. They obviously just purchased another horrible portfolio, ( probably Bankrupt accounts as she filed for bankruptcy. They are famous for buying bankrupt and probate files to harass others. I called the number which is not listed and spoke to XXXX XXXX and dhe refused to share the address the agancy is located ; yet another violation. These people need an audit, I know for a fact that they have training but they sure do not apply the laws

Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing has not complied with my request for a debt validation letter. I have called them now going over a month and still no one from Convergent is able to provide any answers. I have sent a certified return receipt letter to them and it shows someone from convergent signed for it. I am requesting that this debt be immediately removed from all credit bureaus that deal directly with my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: I have been contacted, and the company Convergent Outsourcing Inc. working for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX who somehow acquired the account from XXXX has sent me 2 letters in the past month on XX/XX/XXXX and on XX/XX/XXXX about a debt that I do not owe. I also have received several phone calls in months past about the debt. I submitted a police report to the company last week XX/XX/XXXX proving to them that the fraudulent bill was a matter of identity theft. I continue to be harassed by companies that the original debtor has employed to try to continue to collect on this debt. I filed a police report on XX/XX/XXXX and reported the same information to all 3 credit bureaus in XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I sent a certified investigation letter to Convergent Outsourcing on XX/XX/XXXX which was delivered on XXXX XXXX, XXXX asking for further information on this debt. XX/XX/XXXX Convergent sent a response to my investigation letter which already violated my rights per the Fair Credit Act based on the allowed time ( 30 days ) a facility has to respond to my dispute letter from the time they received the letter. When receiving the validation of my debt they sent me a few months worth of statements and a letter stating this is valid debt for the balance of {$280.00}. XX/XX/XXXX after digging dipper into this debt, I sent another certified letter to Convergent Outsourcing stating I contacted my current service provider which I transferred the phone number I had with XXXX over to them on XXXX XXXX, XXXX which means that line ( XXXX ) was no longer in service for the bill they provided for validation, and that my last payment was submitted on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I then proceeded to demand a delete from my credit report due to lack of accurate information. XX/XX/XXXX I receive a letter from XXXX stating XXXX XXXX , XXXX has placed your previously disputed account with XXXX. As of the date on this notice, an investigation of your dispute has been completed and the account has been place with their office for resolution. No valid proof of the debt was attache just a new balance of {$190.00}. XX/XX/XXXX I receive a letter from Convergent Outsourcing stating they are no longer the owner of this debt and that they submitted to the credit reporting agency 's to delete the information.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX ( per XXXX ) someone using my identity created an account online as a seller with XXXX. Apparently item ( s ) were sold and then a " charge back '' was initiated by a customer. It appears XXXX paid that individual {$100.00} and charged it to this fraudulent account. Since the fraudster did not pay them they put this into collections with Convergent. I had disputed this to XXXX and they denied my dispute, without explanation. In XXXX, I received the first notice from Convergent that this debt was in collections. I contacted XXXX XXXX, a service that was first provided to me as a result of the XXXX breach in XXXX. Together we contacted both Convergent and XXXX to explain this was fraud. We were advised to proved Convergent with a police report and FTC Identity Theft Report as proof of identify theft. That was sent to Convergent on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I received the response from Convergent. Letter was dated XX/XX/XXXX and stated that XXXX has rejected my dispute again. They did not disclose any reason why it was denied this second time either. Conversations with XXXX have been a series of transferred calls and no communication as to why they have determined this fraudulently opened account was a valid account. One day after receiving the response from Convergent on XX/XX/XXXX ; a representative from Convergent was already calling me and asking me when I am going to do to settle the debt.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I received a notice in the mail from Convergent USA claiming that I owe debt on a XXXX cell phone account that was closed and paid in full. As soon as I received the notice from Convergent I contacted both Convergent and XXXX to ask them what the debt was for. Both companies refused to provide this information. I have repeatedly attempted to work with Convergent and have provided them with proof that the debt is not mine. Convergent continues to refuse to provide any information on the source of the debt while simultaneously trying to collect money from me.

Consumer Complaint: When I stopped doing business with XXXX they claimed I still had some hardware that I never had ( TV boxes when I only had internet from them ). Since then they have been trying to collect {$320.00} from me which they reported to the credit agencies. I disputed the first report but they just withdrew it and re-filed it under a different collection agency. There now seems to be a pattern as it has been filed and withdrawn by at least 3 different collectors so far making it impossible to properly dispute.
