Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2020, I had initiated a dispute of alledged debt collection for the amount of {$1900.00} out of which they were willing to settle for {$950.00}. In that letter, I cited the collection agency 's obvious violations of FCRA and FDCPA which requires to provide me with " validation '' that is competent evidence bearing my signature, showing that I have { or ever had } some contractual obligation to pay such claim. XX/XX/2020, the Collection Agency sent to me a nine page print out of bill statement, claiming that was their only bases for the verification and validation of the alleged debt. XX/XX/2020, I responded to their letter and yet calling the company out on another violation : FTC opinion letter from Attorney XXXX. XXXX XXXX, which contends that a printout of a bill or itemized document does not constitute verification. And they again failed to provide me " verified '' proof bearing my signature. I am filling this complaint with hope that The CFPB will intervene in this matter in reaching a quick resolve. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing placed an invalid collection on my credit report without any notification. I do not owe this debt. I disputed this numerous times with the credit bureau. I did not receive a response from Convergent Outsourcing and the collection account was not removed from my credit report. I then filed two complaints directly with Convergent Outsourcing on XX/XX/2020 and XX/XX/2020 and have received no response to those either. I am attaching documentation.

Consumer Complaint: Hi XXXX / Convergent Outsourcing Inc. ; Listen, I was reviewing my credit today and noticed a collection account from a phone company that i never had before, plus when i called they have it under a DOB of XXXX, but my DOB : is XX/XX/XXXX. I also have it on an address that doesn't even belong to me, plus i been outside the country for 14 years - I just came back into the states in XXXX of XXXX. You are reporting false information and would like this to be removed from my credit report or any internal record. Again, I honestly do not believe to ever have any relationship with this collection agency or original creditor. Also there are several inaccuracies with this account the way it's reporting and that's a total violation of FCRA and FDCPA laws and regulations. In a good faith effort to resolve the matter amicably, I must demand proof of this debt, specifically the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature, as well as proof of your authority in this matter. Absent such proof, you must correct any erroneous reports of this past debt as mine. I am writing to request that you please provide the following information : 1. Please evidence your authorization under 15 USC 1692 ( e ) and 15 USC 1692 ( f ) in this alleged matter. 2. What is your authorization of law for your collection of information? 3. What is your authorization of law for your collection of this alleged debt? 4. Please evidence your authorization to do business or operate in this state. 5. Please evidence proof of the alleged debt, including the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature. 6. Please provide a complete account history, including any charges added for collection activity. You have 30 days upon receipt of this letter to provide strict proof of contract. In the event you can not provide strict proof of contract, you must cease and desist any and all collection efforts and immediately remove any derogatory information reported to the consumer reporting agencies. In addition, you will need to provide me your agreement, in writing, that you are closing your file, ceasing collecting activity, and deleting all information related to this reference number from any and all credit reports youve furnished the information to. Consumer Complaint: In 2018, I closed my XXXX account over the phone with a representative because I moved. Few months go by, I received a alert that XXXX reported me to collections for a balance of {$500.00}. I contacted XXXX and found out the original rep that I initially spoke with never cancelled the account leaving it open to accumulate a balance. I advised XXXX that I called in to cancel and I returned the equipment. XXXX validated that the account should have closed and the equipment was received and the account balance would be adjusted. I disputed the debt and it was removed from my credit profile. A year later, I received another alert for the same debt with XXXX but with another collection agency. I disputed the debt and it was removed from my credit profile. This year in XXXX, I received another alert for the same debt. I contacted XXXX to see why this keeps getting reported. Nothing was ever adjusted. After, hours on the phone, no one was able to really help me. I had no other choice but to contact XXXX XXXX XXXX through social media which I have in writing that they adjusted my account and the account is at {$0.00} balance. This past month, I get another alert for the same debt. I contacted the collection agency and advised them that this is not valid and XXXX should have adjusted the account. I was advised by a rep at the Collection agency that XXXX adjusted the account but left the account $ XXXX cents. The rep advised that since there is a balance left it will still be reported as unpaid. At this point, I have made several attempts to resolve this issue and have no resolution. I have no choice but to file a complaint on this issue. I never received notification from XXXX of ever having a balance and was sent to collections multiple times. This inaccurate reporting affected me financially as it lowered credit score. I am currently trying to buy a home and with this inaccurate reporting it is causing me to pay more on my mortgage and my closing costs.
