Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: This debt appeared on my credit report. The company sent the debt to collections without my prior knowledge that I owed the debt. I reached out to the company in an attempt to resolve the issue. The company employees sent me through multiple channels over a period of a few months, none of which solved my issues. I attempted numerous times to dispute the inaccuracies through the appropriate credit bureau. Each time the dispute process was over, the company would add the debt to my credit report again, thus starting the origination date over. This prolongs the process of getting the debt removed. Furthermore, Ive reached out to the company to provide me the details of the account in order to prove the debt belongs to me, to which the company offers no response or they respond by telling me that Im not a current customer, they cant locate an account in my name.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: A collection account was reported from Convergent Outsourcing on XX/XX/2021 for {$1300.00}. I spoke with Convergent Outsourcing and was told that if I paid the account even if it was paid in settlement that once there was a XXXX balance, the collection would be deleted. I agreed to a settlement amount of {$1000.00} and paid off the account on XX/XX/2021. I have tried contacting them numerous times to have the collection deleted from my credit and they have not removed it. I went through XXXX to dispute the account and request it to be removed as agreed to no avail on XX/XX/2021.

Consumer Complaint: I am a victim of identity theft and I have submitted a notarized affidavit which serves as a legal document to my identity theft. I am also a victim of the XXXX breach and opted out of the settlement because I have suffered extreme losses due to the breach and the identity theft. I need the fraud accounts that are in my letter that is attached removed permanently from my file as I have also contacted the creditors as well. This is extreme in violation of my fair credit reporting act rights and I will seek legal recourse. I have also attached the printout of me being affected by the XXXX breach as well.

Consumer Complaint: I am a veteran and was offered a 3 line package with XXXX if I transferred my lines. On XX/XX/2021 I tried to port over my wireless cell from XXXX by XXXX to XXXX however they could not complete the port. I was misled when they offered the services. Since the port was not able to complete I never activated the services. In other words, I am being billed for services never rendered. XXXX recognizes that the port was not successful and the account was canceled the same day. I contacted XXXX several times and was advised they will correct the account but have not done so. Now they have placed the account with a collection agency that has threatened to report it on my credit report. This is a clear case of unfair and dece [ tive practices. The amount billed is {$97.00}.

Consumer Complaint: I had been disputing an account on my credit report with Covergent Outsourcing for several yrs. once again with them Ive asked for verification that it was my account such as a bill with my name etc. So on XX/XX/2021 I called and pd it through them. And then I started really inspecting it and looked at the dates so I called the actual company who they were supposed to be collecting the deft for and I dont owe them anything and didnt owe them anything. So the collected {$290.00} from me for something I never owed.

Consumer Complaint: I received a letter from Convergent Outsourcing , Inc. offering to accept 25 % of a debt I supposedly owe as full payment. I do not owe this debt, nothing shows on my credit report and I think they just pulled my name out of a hat in the hopes I'd respond which I'm not doing but I am reporting them.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Consumer Complaint: On approximately XX/XX/XXXX ( and many times thereafter ), I had my credit reviewed by the VA home loan center. During the initial credit check, the collection account for XXXX through CONVERGENT OUTSOURCING was not listed. Furthermore, there was no indication of a past due balance owed to XXXX at any point until today XX/XX/XXXX. This debt collection agency purchased a 7-year-old debt for pennies on the dollar and is attempting to collect an inflated amount. Not only has the statute of limitations ran its course for this account, but it is currently listed as 'charge-off/ uncollectible ' with XXXX How despicable does this agency have to be to firstly, fail in providing us a payment option if it were still collectible and secondly, failing to provide sufficient notice prior to this account being placed on my credit? Ultimately, they are hindering a home loan approval with their egregious attempt to collect on an already 'charged-off ' account. After speaking with and being transferred to several agents of theirs, we were met with uncaring associates and no options but to pay the {$330.00}. After explaining the proof of the legal timeline for this old account, the agents said they can only go by the dates they obtained it.
