Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: Upon paying the debt owed to XXXX/Convergent outsourcing, I was told that the debt would be removed during a phone call on XX/XX/2021. I was also told that I would receive an email verification of this. The email was never sent. I called XXXX/convergent outsourcing on XX/XX/2021 and was told that I would receive an email verifying that the debt was paid. The only thing that was updated by XXXX/convergent outsourcing was that the debt was paid in full. Although it was paid in full, it still shows up as a collection on my credit report which is affecting my credit score negatively.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: This is either a scam or identity theft. The debit {$600.00} is not mine. That is my name but not my phone number or phone or any other item on that fraudulent bill. This debt that is claimed by Convergent I immediately challenged through XXXX. The response from XXXX was verified. This Convergent debt claim is blatant FRAUD. It is extremely concerning because they are simply creating debt out of thin air. I immediately contacted XXXX and they did not have any records that indicate this debt or any debt. Further, they added that my account was closed in XXXX in good standing. Convergent has dates for XXXX. Everything in the Convergent document is made up except for my name. This includes the phone number, the phone model and make, the dates, etc it is a complete fraud. Im not sure where to go with this, I am going to file a police report today. I have sent letters to the Federal Trade Commission, the California Office of the Attorney General, the Federal Bureau of Consumer Affairs, and the California Bureau of Consumer Affairs.

Consumer Complaint: We have been receiving multiple phone calls from a woman calling on behalf of Convergent Resources virtually every day for months. She is using different phone numbers, and the calls come from near the XXXX Ohio XXXX. We do not owe anyone anything on this earth and when we try to obtain information from her, she demands to know if I am some other person. She then needs information to access our files, which do not exist because we owe no one. When I contacted Convergent in Arizona the same thing happened followed by a hang up. The number in XXXX of the caller is XXXX, XXXX. We have no idea where they obtained any information on us, but we suspect our age is a factor, as we are both retired. After doing research on this company we feel there is a bigger scam going on than debt collection, why else contact people with no debt?. There are also times when they call and no one speaks, finally a women comes on, gives no ID or company name, and starts asking for people. When you question her she hangs up.

Consumer Complaint: I have been patiently waiting on their response to the written requests I sent. However, any modes of response or coordination were not taken on their end. They have not complied with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 USC Sections 1681i within the time allowed by law and continued reporting as unverified information which now, given all my attempts to address it directly with the creditor, as willful negligence and non-compliance with federal statutes. Below are the lists of the erroneous accounts reporting on my Credit Report : CONVERGENT OUTSOURCING-XXXX-Balance {$1200.00} CONVERGENT OUTSOURCING, INC.-Balance $ XXXXDate Opened : XX/XX/2020 XXXX

Consumer Complaint: After reviewing my credit profile on XX/XX/2021 I identified a discrepancy with account listed under Convergent Outsourcing and validation was requested as this was an account that I did not recognize. I reviewed my credit report again on XX/XX/2021 and the account continues to reflect on my credit report and I have not received any correspondence from creditor to validate this account as correctly belonging to me, nor has my credit report been updated to reflect that the account is disputed and therefore a 2nd validation letter was sent out on this day. After reviewing credit report again on XX/XX/2021 there have been no updates and account is still reflecting on the report. I do not believe the account belongs to me nor do I believe that the creditor has authorization to access the account nor authorization to attempt to collect on the account and the account continues to negatively affect me. Please strike and remove this account from all 3 credit bureaus until adequate validation has been received proving that the account belongs to me and all information is correct.
