Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: To start, I didn't receive a written notification from convergent outsourcing about the debt. I sent a certified letter to validate/verify the debt dated XX/XX/2021 and it has been well over 30 days and I haven't received a reply. I did however received the return receipt showing the letter was received by the company.

Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: Received a phone bill from XXXX, stating that I owed XXXX in XX/XX/2021. Never had an XXXX account nor any of my family memebers. Called the customer service, the customer service representative told me not to worry about it without further explanation and just hung up the phone. Consumer Complaint: This company Convergent Outsourcing , Inc, sent me a letter stating that I owe for an account that I have never had. They purchased this debt from another Collection Company that had put it on my credit report and I filed a complaint because it was due to identity theft, and they removed it off of my credit report and out of their system. Apparently they sold it and Convergent purchased it. This account doesn't belong to me and it needs to be removed from my credit report and out of their system. They also need to stop selling it as it is not a legitimate debt.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX is illegally trying to collect a payment that is fraud. I turned in my equipment on time and at that time paid my final bill. I asked them at that time if I am paid off and they said yes. This was XXXX. Now in XXXX of this year, I have a surprise collection account on my credit from an agency called Convergent Outsourcing for {$270.00} with no former information. I paid this in full. Many times cable companies try to commit fraud and bill you for nothing. This is what is happening here. They should not be able to get away with this and have already destroyed my credit score. I paid them in full at the time I gave in my equipment. The collection was put on my account on XX/XX/XXXX. The account number is # XXXX The law says cable companies are not supposed to put collection accounts on your credit report particularly if it is fraudulent because they do this. Convergent Outsourcing Collection Agency XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX, Washington State XXXX. No phone number provided, no real address provided. Why would I not pay my bill in full at the time of returning my equipment. This is a pattern with cable companies. Please ask them to remove this from my credit report. It is fraudulent. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: This debt is supposedly for XXXX, a service I have not used in over five years if I am correct. This was on my credit report last year with different totals and was removed for being too old to collect, now they claim a new debt to XXXX was started in XXXX this year, but I do not use XXXX, I have not in a very long time. I can easily prove I have used another service for the time in between, but in the end, My service for XXXX should have expired in XXXX. I filed a dispute, but they didn't respond to the fact this debt was already removed from all three bureaus last year for being too old and are again trying to claim something thrown out.
