Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing placed a collection on my credit file, after my debt validation letter response to the original collection notice received via mail. The letter sent on XX/XX/2021 clearly states the timeline in which they are required to respond, as per the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. I followed up on XX/XX/2021, with a letter notifying them of their non response and their responsibility to comply with the law regarding collections. Convergent Outsourcing is now in violation of the FDCPA rules.

Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern, I became aware of a collections amount of {$520.00} from XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, TX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. The debt was for an electricity service used at address XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, TX XXXX. I have never lived or worked at this address. I also did not authorized my information to be used here. To dispute this debt, I first contacted the collection agency Convergent and made them aware this was due to identity theft. I was advised by Convergent to contact XXXX XXXX directly to resolve this issue. I called XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX and was told by a representative that I needed to provide a police report and proof of residence during the time of when the service was used, which was between XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX. I filed a police report and compiled statements of rent and utility payments from my correct residence. I have lived at this address since XX/XX/XXXX. I was advised to email my police report number XXXX and rent and utility statements to XXXX with subject header " XXXX ''. This email was sent on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX. I did not receive response from my email, so i called to follow up several times and could not get ahold of a representative due to " high call volume ''. ( call log can be provided upon request ) I disputed the debt with XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. An update was made on my XXXX account stating " the information you disputed have been verified as accurate ; however, information unrelated to your dispute has been updated. '' XXXX never contacted me for documents or more information to send XXXX XXXX to back up my dispute. When I checked the dispute regarding " information unrelated to your dispute has been updated '', I saw XXXX XXXX had marked the {$520.00} debt as " Account charged off. {$520.00} written off. {$520.00} past due as of XX/XX/XXXX. '' Also the months that were charged off had been changed to XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. During this time I was using electricity services from XXXX XXXX XXXX. I do not understand why these charge off dates are different from the original debt between XXXX XXXX-XXXX XXXX and would like this investigated as well. This has caused a great hardship in obtaining loans and housing for rental properties. I would like this dispute to be resolved as soon as possible so I can obtain housing for me and my family. Regards,

Consumer Complaint: Once again it's XXXX XXXX XXXX. This time it's their cabe company, XXXX. For reference this is the last complaint I filed ( XXXX ). Similar to that complaint it also involves returning equipment. This may be a sign of a pattern of abuse, or just gross incompetence. Either way it's harmful and extremely annoying to anyone with as high a credit score as mine, XXXX. I cancelled this service ( XXXX ). On three different occasions I was told that they did not want the equipment back because it was obsolete. There are recorded phone conversations and confirmation numbers for each instruction not to return the equipment, so ultimately, after the third time I felt safe enough to discard it, so I did. Then, lo and behold, the harassment resumes once again.

Consumer Complaint: I used to have an account with XXXX for wireless services. In XX/XX/2021 I purchased a new device for {$830.00}. XXXX double charged me. One charge for {$830.00} and another right after for {$820.00}. I contacted XXXX to let them know and I got the runaround for over a month. XXXX kept saying that they would refund the accidental charge. When I realized that they would not I contacted my bank and submitted a claim. I also closed my account with XXXX as of XX/XX/2021. My bank was able to recover the funds from XXXX but after that, they stated that I owed them those funds. They have clearly stated that it was an accidental double charge and they would refund the funds but did not. I have the chat logs. Now I have a collection agency contacting me stating that I owe them those funds. I challenged them and they just sent me a validation letter. All the validation letter is a copy of my XXXX bill. I provided the collection agency with bank statements showing the double charge, chat logs showing XXXX tech support stating that they owe my a refund, The complaint form I filed with my bank and the bank statement of when the funds were recovered. I do not know what to do now.

Consumer Complaint: In 2010 my identity was stolen after going into my XXXX XXXX account on office computer. A box popped up requesting all my identity information. And dumbly I gave it all as it looks exactly like XXXX XXXX and I didnt know about phishing back then. Shortly after I started getting stuff from debt collectors from XXXX XXXX from a XXXX XXXX residency. I live in XXXX XXXX. I went to bank reported identity theft and fraud and closed my account. Throughout years Ive had the debt collectors through XXXX XXXX asking for money for utilities for tv and phone services. I have to go through whole process to clear my name. Why they have not flagged any account under my identity I dont know but its extremely frustrating. Im now once again going through the process to clear my name through debt collector Convergent Outsourcing asking for {$1600.00} for XXXX XXXX for an account balance plus equipment cost. Please arrest these people. I want to be freed from this nightmare.
