Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: I received a debt collection letter by convergent outsourcing on behalf of XXXX XXXX stating that I'm in debt of {$240.00} in which I knew nothing about or have a current service with this company. I'm getting threatening letters about submitting me to the credit collections potentially messing up my credit for something I know nothing about. I've contacted them but never get an answer and wanted more details about what's going on.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021 I find out that a bill that I'm sure was paid was sent as unpaid and hit my credit. Naturally I called and asked for a pay to delete. The agent on the phone assured me XXXX times that this would be completely removed without a trace. I asked three times just to make sure. She said " yes, as soon as you pay this will be removed completely from your credit. '' So I made the payment. Then she stated that she is sending me two emails one for proof of payment and the other for deletion. They never came. So I called back and I get a different agent. She said " you have to call the reporting agency to get the deletion papers. '' Well I called XXXX XXXX and they said " if you pay us ANOTHER {$200.00} we will delete '' so I paid again after I asked why I had to was told " you pay to delete ''. I hang up with XXXX and call Convergent and they tell me " The agent you spoke with was misinformed so we will not be deleting but will mark it as paid. '' Now that was NOT the agree. I also recorded the call to make sure that was not the agreement. The lady said clearly that " it will be removed from my credit reports. '' Now I can prove this but they are not honoring what their agent stated. Her misinformation does not take away for what she stated considering she works for them and they trained her. I am not out over {$400.00} for a debt that was only {$200.00} and I will be filling papers in small claims if this is not resolved. I did NOT pay on a debt that was paid years ago for a " paid status. '' Follow the agreement of deletion as promised!

Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing Original Creditor- XXXX XXXX Account address- XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX , LA, XXXX Collection opened on XX/XX/XXXX Original debt from XXXX I moved from the address associated with the collection account 3 years ago. My phone number changed within that time but not until XXXX. I never received a call from the original creditor stating I owed anything. Received a call last week in regard to this debt from Convergent Outsourcing in the amount of {$180.00} from XXXX XXXX. The collector didnt want to identify themselves and I questioned if it was even real since the agent was so reluctant to even identify themselves. I updated my address and received no communication in regards to this in XXXX years. Once on the phone with the agent I asked what it was in regards to because I had no idea. I simply asked if the CO representative to send me a validation letter so I could review the debt. I called the original creditor to ask if the debt was valid. Although I question the validity of the debt I was happy to settle the debt in full after being notified of it. I told them that I could pay them once they sent a final bill as I never received anything. I received a collection on my credit report notice this morning from both the XXXX and XXXX. I wasnt given any time to pay the debt or any real notice in regards to the debt and any documented validity that I even owed the debt in question. I even paid it just because I didnt want it to keep staying on my credit but havent received any notice from either agencies on what I allegedly owed in writing. I had no issue paying the debt I just wanted to receive a validation letter in writing.

Consumer Complaint: I received a letter dated XX/XX/2021 stating I owe {$840.00} to Convergent Outsourcing for an account withheld per instruction, convergent account withheld per instruction. I disputed the debt and requested verification and validation of the debt. I did not receive either. I did not mail certified so that was my mistake. This letter was mailed on XX/XX/2021. I then received a letter dated XX/XX/2021 stating I owe {$3600.00} to Convergent Outsourcing for an account withheld per instruction, convergent account withheld per instruction. I disputed the debt again and requested verification and validation of the debt. I did not receive either. This was mailed certified and it was received by Convergent Outsourcing on XX/XX/2021. Today, XX/XX/2021, I have received another debt collection letter dated XX/XX/2021 stating I owe {$3600.00} to Receivables XXXX XXXX for account withheld per instruction, Reference withheld per instruction. I will again be disputing and requesting verification and validation of the debt, but this is now the third contact and each time I have disputed and requested verification and validation and I have not received it. This is not my debt. I do not have any accounts with this creditor ( supposedly XXXX ) and the threats of judgment against me after I have complied with the requirements to dispute and request validation and verification of the debt need to stop. It costs roughly {$5.00} to mail certified and I should have received the validation and verification as requested in both my first two letters. Please help me resolve this and not have to continue sending certified letters to dispute for a debt that is not mine. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: Over 3 years ago I was notified through XXXX XXXX that a fraudulent account in my name was opened and in collections with XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, NV. I immediately disputed this fraudulent account with all 3 credit bureaus as well as XXXX XXXX. I submitted the fraud claim and all necessary documentation to support said claim to XXXX XXXX at which time this debt was removed from my credit report ( s ) and no further attempts to collect said debt was made until XX/XX/2021. I received by mail at my new address a collection notice from Convergent Outsourcing , Inc demanding payment on behalf of XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$1500.00}. I have never resided in the State of Nevada, I resided in XXXX XXXX, CA for over 6 years until my relocation to XXXX XXXX XXXX CA on XX/XX/2021. I attempted to resolve this matter with Convergent Outsourcing , Inc informing them this account was opened fraudulently and disputed through XXXX XXXX over 3 years ago. They refused to acknowledge and accept the information I provided to you in this letter so I contacted and filed a complaint with the XXXX. Within 24 hours I received a call from XXXX XXXX not Convergent Outsourcing, Inc informing me they were contacted by the XXXX at which time I informed them of the above information provided in this letter. I was told they had no record in their system of said debt and I informed them it was disputed over 3 years ago and no further collections were attempted and to please contact Convergent Outsourcing , Inc and advise them this account was opened fraudulently and resolved through your fraud department and to cease any further attempts to collect this debt. This morning XX/XX/2021 I received notification from XXXX XXXX that Convergent Outsourcing , Inc has reported to XXXX a collection account opened XXXX the amount of {$1500.00}. This attempt to collect a debt fraudulently opened in my name in a State I have never resided in is unlawful and extremely unethical. I am XXXX and on a fixed income. I have outstanding credit and no history of any collections and or delinquent account ( s ). This is grossly effecting my credit worthiness. Your assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.
