Consumer Complaint: It appears rewards points have disappeared without justification. The website 's transparency into points earned on specific transactions is lacking and impossible to audit and information has changed. Points were reported on a transaction, now show 0, and disappeared. I have tried to get more information from the customer service representatives but they stated points are 'pending ' and they don't have visibility either. The website has been increasingly less transparent to points accumulation and it's impossible to verify, attest, or audit the reporter balance.

Consumer Complaint: I would like to made an addition to my complaint ID XXXX which was submitted earlier today, Friday XX/XX/2021. I would like to add that the customer service representative from American Express told me my credit score was XXXX according to XXXX, however I have attached a screenshot of today that my credit score is actually XXXX. A full XXXX points above their statement, and this screenshot is also directly from XXXX. Why did they lie to me about my credit score? The service rep was from a call center in XXXX which I also think had an impact on my resolution. I have also attached a few screenshots showing Excellent repayment history with AMEX ( through XXXX ) and proof that my current minimum payment has been met, to further emphasize the fact that this {$810.00} payment request from AMEX feels almost like extortion.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, On Friday morning XX/XX/XXXX, I was informed by my credit card company American Express that my credit limit was decreased over {$6000.00}, from {$10000.00} originally to {$3600.00}. In my conversation with AMEX customer service, I was told that this was due to a recent change on my credit score and report. I was told that the only way to increase my credit limit would be to pay the credit card company {$810.00}, with a possible lift to the credit limit happening within 30 calendar days ( they would not promise an immediate lift to the credit limit ). I had already met my minimum payment balance by the due date ( minimum payment due was currently XXXX - in other words, I had made all payments that I owed, in the time frame I owed them ). To make this a very tenuous and scary circumstance, I had made a reservation with American Express Travel ( another travel product with american express that I frequent quite often ) for a rental car, and I was supposed to pay this reservation on XXXX XXXX for the amount of most likely {$1500.00} for a rental car. The reservation is in a foreign country. American Express was well aware of my reservation and my long standing history with them ( I have been a customer for 15 years with no record of missed payments and not much history of revolving usage ). I would not have been able to pay this rental car with my credit card and continue on my vacation, and this felt like extortion. American Express refused to acknowledge the fact that I have been a cardholder with them for over 15 years. They refused to acknowledge my circumstance of why my credit score had decreased slightly ( I recently bought a new car, took out an auto loan, for my husband, who is an XXXX and is taking some time to build his own credit score and credit file ). I know how to responsibly manage my finances, and so I believe this was a huge abuse of my credit report and possibly even extortion ( asking me to pay them {$800.00} when technically I did not owe them anything at this time, my minimum payment had been met ). I feel like I have no recourse with AMEX as a company and I want to report this bad behavior to the government. This abuse of my report is happening during a global pandemic. I understand that credit companies may be wary of consumers taking on bigger debts these days due to the economy, but this is not the way to treat a customer, and I have had other smaller circumstances with other credit card companies that make me suspect that these companies want to abuse and extort consumers due to the global economic situation. This was a decision made without my knowledge or any warning, with no reasoning, and will greatly affect my life and my ability to make sound financial decisions for my family. Consumer Complaint: I was denied for a mortgage loan and came to find out there is a charge of account on my personal report from American express that I never remembered being a guarantor to. This has totally damaged my credit report and i have disputed this and nothing has been done. They are not able to validate or show any proof that I was a guarantor to this loan. This credit report shows the account was opened XX/XX/XXXX and was last reported on XX/XX/XXXX. It has a current balance of {$22000.00}. Original balance was for {$66000.00}. Their remarks states " Charged off as bad debt|Canceled by credit grantor. '' The account number is XXXX. This report can not not be possibly accurate base on the events even stated on the report. You can not report anything on anyone 's report if there is any errors. This has destroyed all my life of getting a home after having been working on my credit for years. This should totally be unacceptable.

Since XXXX and I have allways made on time payments then in XXXX after making payments on one card I was told no payments was required on the remaining two cards. My annual fee is {$550.00} a year. But they closed my cards weeks later. Ever since then and the present I am a ongoing dispute and I they are illegal charging my late fees and interest eventhough I am disputing the amount and the annual fees charges after the closed my account they refuse to refund my annual fees. Its case of them refusing to refund my annual fees after closing my card. And triple the original amount.

Consumer Complaint: As a loyalty customer, I used Amex card for long years. But I am very disappointed for their service. I got a promotion from Amex it said I can get 25000 points if I upgrade my everyday credit card to a preferred version which I have to pay annual fee instead of the no annual fee version. So I got their 25000 points since I finished their minimum spend requirement and paid for the annual fee. At this XXXX I got another year annual fee Charge. I already paid other credit card annual fee and used most transaction on the other card. So I decide to downgrade my everyday card to a no annual fee version. But at this XXXX I realized my 25000 points has been taken back from Amex . I called them have been told I have to keep 12 months for this card. What? This is very ridicules. When I downgrade. No one told me I have to keep 12 months for this card. I do received their 12 months term after I have been taken back the 25000 points. If anyone remind me I won't need to downgrade this card. I think I earned this points. The points belong to me. And their customer service is very rude. I need my points back.
