Consumer Complaint: An American Express account was opened and placed on my credit report. Upon noticing it months later I contacted American Express for verification of the account. I have 2 other American Express accounts and was not sure if they opened it or if I did. I formally requested verification and disputed the account and transactions. American Express reversed the charges and stated it was fraudulent. They closed the account and everything seemed fine. 45 days later the account was reopened and the charges came back. Again, I contacted American Express for better understanding. They did not again verify the account was mine and continued to report it on my credit report. Soon after it turned 30, then 60. now 90 days later which is damaging my credit score. I then requested verification and disputed the charges again. They closed out my other 2 American Express accounts and provide little to no information. They are willfully damaging my credit and closed out accounts. Currently they have not validated this account and refuse to do so. This is a willful neglect and requires more assistance. My rights are being violated and the stress and financial damage they are causing has become unbearable.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX, I reported my XXXX XXXX American Express missing and asked for a replacement card. The annual fee for this card is {$590.00}. They never sent it. In XXXX I was billed again for {$590.00}, which I paid. They refuse to send my card. I've called repeatedly and as of XX/XX/XXXX, Ive asked for a refund, prorated back to XXXX of XXXX. They are refusing. I am a long time > 20 year Am Ex card holder and have had the XXXX Platinum Card for XXXX or 10 years. If this has happened to me I am certain that it has happened to others. When XXXX pays {$590.00} annual fee for the card, one shouldn't have to beg for the card. Please advise. Thank you, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: Visited the AmEx website to get information about prequalification. Prequalified for the XXXX card and two XXXX XXXX. When attempting the application for the XXXX card, there was an indication that info I submitted did not match their records preventing us from effectively applying. I did not feel the first rep fully understood or wasnt properly disclosing why our info was in their system, he passed us to XXXX who took a social security number but never clarified whether old info was in their system or adequately why he needed it. He never performed a proper authentication of our identity to disclose info that may have been in the system. I raised the concern numerous times that we didnt understand whether old info was causing the block ( which would have allowed us to try to take next steps ) or whether someone else was using my info. The original rep claimed he couldnt even see the prequal for XXXX and started pushing a card I was not prequalified for, the gold, which is showing elevated offers online. The problem is that if the XXXX cards, possibly, connected to old corporate accounts, but maybe not, are not the issue, what is but they never helped me understand what I could do to help myself if there is an issue. I was transferred to and spoke with a manager, XXXX, who the previous rep claimed was a middle school friend, who totally blew off my security concerns. Then ; Spoke with XXXX, who provided an XXXX XXXX address for complaints because apparently AmEx does not value prospects only client concerns, even when security related. Chatted with XXXX and he blew me off totally and was flippant in his replies. Im baffled that none took my concerns seriously when I was told that the name and email address in their file did not match my social and Im surprised that this company does not have a method or counseling to deal with security concerns for prospects. I thought their customer service was industry best but 5 people -including 1 supervisor- failed us. I do not want to wait for snail mail for resolution and the company has no expedited solutions for investigating security concerns. I wasted my time and got no information. Not interested in a relationship anymore now that I understand how clients are treated but want answers.

Consumer Complaint: I have been requesting information and attempting to dispute a credit card that is falsely on my credit report, every time they say they can not locate my information and they need the full account number which I do not have I only have whats on my credit report therefore they couldnt help me. After numerous attempts I was told I would need to contact XXXX XXXX XXXX and was given the address to write. I was never notified of this debt and have requested validation numerous times with no response.. A collection agency XXXX XXXX XXXX has filed a judgement against me on behalf of American Express after attempting to contact for 2 years, with no response. The reason I reached out was because I saw the debt on my credit report and I am unaware of this credit card on my report. The debt is through American Express for {$11000.00}. I do not have any outstanding debt and have never had a credit card with a higher balance than {$3000.00} so this it absurd to me.
