Consumer Complaint: I have an interest-only home mortgage with Wells Fargo XXXX XXXX of the main features I wanted with this mortgage was the ability to pay down the principal and recast the monthly payments. I was reassured by my banker, XXXX XXXX, XXXX ID XXXX, that this was possible. In fact, in his initial emails, he had the following in his signature : " We have a free recasting service that allows you to buy your principal balance down by {$20000.00} or more, where we will re-amortize the monthly principal and interest payment based on the buydown amount ( essentially will lower the principal and interest payment based on the buydown amount without making you go through a full refinance ). This is a free service that you can take advantage of as many times as you want. '' I attempted to do this and was told this is not possible with my mortgage before the XXXX interest-only period is over. XXXX misled me during the application process.

Consumer Complaint: Wells Fargo Credit Card Services ran my credit for a credit card on XX/XX/2023. I did not apply for any credit with them and when I requested an investigation they asked that I send a letter which I did on XX/XX/2023, they then sent a letter ( Dispute XXXX XXXXXXXX ) on XX/XX/2023, stating it was a valid inquiry. Because I did not apply for anything with Wells Fargo, I called their dispute line again on XX/XX/2023, to request proof that I applied for credit. At that time I was given a " dispute '' number XXXX and advised they would reach out within two days. Wells Fargo did not respond and has not provided the information I requested. It is clear to me that they did nothing to investigate this matter and have left the credit inquiry on my credit file. Please follow up on this sloppy and poorly handled investigation to ensure that consumers do not continue to suffer from these banks that have been allowed to become too big to operate.
